Superfine Bakery

Superfine Bakery is exactly that: super fine! The cake Andrea made for my wife Joanna’s 40^th birthday was so artistic and crafted perfectly. But more importantly, it tasted great! I definitely recommend to get a cake Superfine Bakery for any special occasion or celebration.

I haven’t ordered a cake from here but i inquired online to get a quote and I must say Andrea was so fast in responding back to my email, she answered all my questions and gave me a very detailed info. Looking forward to doing future business with Superfine Bakery. Thank you for the fast and prompt response.

Rude! It is sad that I didn’t even make it INTO the shop because I was not welcomed.
I emailed through a wedding website to inquire about pricing and they make you «choose» a tentative date in order to get your message sent. Well, apparently the date that I picked, they are unavailable and proceeded to turn me down bluntly.
Then when I emailed back saying that my date is flexible, Andrea wrote back to say that they do not offer TASTINGS until I have a date booked. I DID NOT ASK FOR A TASTING, I simply wanted information about pricing. Now, I have been rejected TWICE by this business so obviously they do not want me as a customer. When I responded that they must obviously not want my business, I was then cut off and offered no response or apology.
Thanks a lot. I will be purchasing my cake for 150 people elsewhere. Super disappointing! Better that I know now.

Andrea was a pleasure to work with throughout our planning process! Great space and delicious cake tasting. She created a wonderful cake for us and was truly fostering of our creative ideas! We almost went with a different vendor but it came down to the perfect TASTE of the cake! The cake was moist and perfectly sweet! It looked amazing the day of the wedding and guests truly enjoyed it! Thanks again for adding that BATMAN, too! ;) I got away with that one!

A++ to Andrea for her amazing cakes and goodies at the Party in LA for The Knot! I had such a nice time with her chatting about the details on each cake. She really knows her stuff! So much talent and each cake was in a different style! We also had the pleasure of tasting some cookies and other goodies! Thank you so much for the sweet treat!

Simply the best of the best! Andrea offers such a rare combination of culinary talent (so it TASTES amazing) and artistic ability (so it LOOKS amazing)!! Everywhere else I looked you had to sacrifice one for the other. She gave us the best of both worlds and is clearly passionate about what she does. We got so many compliments on our wedding cake, I only wish I had a second piece!

We can’t thank Andrea enough for our absolutely beautiful and delicious wedding cake. When we first started searching for a wedding cake vendor, we were worried that we would have to choose between looks and taste. Andrea is not only an artist who sculpts lifelike delicate and intricate sugar flowers in a composition that is breathtakingly beautiful, she is also a true chef as the cake — three tiers of different flavors of cake with layers of complementary fruit compote filling no less — was melt-​in-​your-​mouth scrumptious from top to bottom. We were excited to see the beautiful images in her portfolio during our cake tasting and her sketches for our wedding cake, and then we were stunned into overjoyed silence when we saw our wedding cake in person on the very day. It was more than we ever expected. Thank you Andrea.

Who knew that Fleur de Sel Caramels could be so amazing? I was lucky enough to receive some of these delicious treats from a friend and I ate them within hours. There is a delicate balance between sweet creamy caramel and sea salt which is heavenly. These are a very special treat and I can’t wait to get more!

This review is almost a year late but I must say Andrea is a truly gifted artist. She made me the most BEAUTIFUL and delicious wedding cake ever. From first contact she was professional, helpful and was conscious of what we wanted to spend. The sugar orchids she crafted for our three tier cake were so lifelike and impressive, they cascaded down the side with a trail of succulents.
Andrea also has a great collection of vintage cake stands and we opted to rent one that beautifully showcased our cake. We chose alternating layers of carrot cake and the citrus cake to give guests a choice and both were delectable. Her caramels are eye crossingly delicious and make a great wedding favor. Andrea and Superfine Bakery were incredible to work with. I had a bride who loves cake and is a big foodie and Superfine blew her out of the water. :) I really appreciated them helping me coordinate the drop off times and help with the topper day of. I don’t usually get to try any food at weddings because I’m running around but I made a point to try their cake and it was incredible. I had a piece of chocolate and tried a bite of the strawberry — both fantastic. Highly recommend and two thumbs up!

All I can say is why aren’t there 10 stars!
I sold Andrea and her wonderful husband there new home. I knew almost immediately that these two were really terrific people; what I didn’t know was just how talented Andrea was. Five months later I’m completing my next spec house and in walks Andrea carrying two of the most gorgeous cakes I’ve ever seen. She came to thank my crew and I for a job well done and to say thank you. Well, first of all I was very moved by her gesture, but then we all tasted her cakes. OMG hands down the best cake we had ever eaten. All I can say is if you want the best do not hesitate to call Andrea, she truly is a gem, perfection.

Amazing customer service AND brilliant product… this IS as good at it gets. I had to pull a wedding together very quickly (10 days notice). Andrea and her team produced the most wonderful looking and tasting cake. My clients were thrilled beyond measure and i was a hero! You simply can’t do better than Superfine. The name says it all!

So where do I start! Superfine went above and beyond for our amazing wedding! When my husband showed me what he wanted our cake to look like I almost fell down. After our first meeting Andrea, said our vision was possible. I couldn’t believe it. After weeks of design we finally saw it coming together. Now let’s get into the tasting. OMG OMG OMG. so how do you tell your cake designer that you want every flavor she has presented. The frosting was nothing you have ever experienced. Let’s get into the dessert bar. Small fruit tart, florentine cookies with chocolate, and those salted chocolate chip cookies were beyond! I am so grateful for her vision, her craft, and the amazing results she produced. It’s a 25 thumbs up and 100 000 stars!

Holy Mother of all sweets!!! Andrea’s caramels are to die for! I order them for clients and friends, but somehow end up eating some of them :/
Seriously though, she is the best at what she does. I’ve seen her cakes in person and amazed at every time.

If you are looking for an eatable work of art — look NO further. Andrea is a cake architect. She is the Frank Gehry of cake! Best known for her purist baking philosophy — she only uses the best ingredients when baking. So her cakes not only LOOK good, they taste AHHHHmazing!
Her design aesthetic is modern and glorious! She handcrafts each detail personally and pours her soul into each step of the creative process.
AND — she truly makes the design process personal. What is most impressive is that she sits down personally with each client at the design consultations. Not many high end bakeries will do that. You will typically get a bakery assistant to conduct tastings and design meetings. Not at Superfine! You will work with the owner directly and the result is always fabulous!
TIP: Get an order of her caramels. JUST DO IT! They are to die for!

Hey did you know you can have a beautiful wedding cake and enjoy eating it too? That was our experience with Superfine, anyway.
We got married last month and Andrea made us a gorgeous cake covered with cascading sugar flowers. It was a major feature in our wedding, and we couldn’t have been more pleased with the result.
We went to the Glendale office for a tasting in April. Located in a small cluster of wedding-​related businesses, it wasn’t the kind of bakery you’d walk into for a cupcake. Even so, it was very cute, decorated to appeal to affianced clients. Andrea welcomed us warmly, and we sat at a little table while she served up some cake. She paired four types of cake with four types of frosting, and all combinations were delicious. We decided on tiers of champagne cake with strawberry frosting and chocolate with espresso. The cakes were moist and the frostings flavorful, with nothing overly sugary.
While we were there, we also talked about cake design. I whipped out my Pinterest board and she showed us some pictures of past cakes. I flagged some favorites and she took note. We signed a contract on the spot.
Between April and September, she designed our cake, emailing us sketches along the way. Just to be clear — it wasn’t five months of continuous work and contact. We signed off on a couple things and she did the rest. We had one exchange about our basset hound cake toppers, which she politely suggested we place in a glass cloche next to the cake. We agreed because although we love them very much, we know bassets are hideous and ruin everything nice.
The cake was magnificent, straight out of a picture book. The proportions and details were in keeping with what we discussed, and the overall look just surpassed all expectations. The sugar flowers were so lovely and intricate they looked like they’d been borrowed from the florist. The cake was also as delicious as it had been at the tasting. I wouldn’t have been upset if it had been otherwise, but that was a huge bonus.
Andrea is making us a miniature version for our anniversary, and we look forward to enjoying our wedding cake again. I can’t recommend Superfine enough — both service and cake were just wonderful.

Understand one thing… Andrea IS a cake goddess. She created an amazing «naked» tuxedo cake with caramel frosting & fleur de sel drizzle (yes, it was as good as it sounds) for my wedding. When my husband and I had a piece during the cake-​cutting we-​were-​in-​heaven! She definitely exceeded our expectations. Thank god, we managed to have that piece because the guests quickly gobbled the rest! It was a hit and they raved about it for the rest of the night. I honestly can’t say enough great things about her and her business. She is super sweet and easygoing. If you want a beautiful cake on the outside & an amazingly delicious cake on the inside, GET HER!!!

I am writing a review based upon Superfine’s OUTSTANDING talent and customer service! I have not been privileged enough to actually taste one of Andrea’s cakes, but I did order custom sugar birds she makes for my wedding cake. She took my order via phone and quickly confirmed the order via email. I was a bit nervous, as she said it would take awhile to make the delicate birds and they would ship from California to Texas one month before the wedding. As months passed, Andrea checked in regularly and gave me so many courteous updates. The birds finally arrived in perfect condition, and my cake was gorgeous. I fell in love with those little blue birds, and thank Andrea and Superfine for going above and beyond! Next time I’m in LA, I’m definitely stopping in!

My friend had one of these cakes at his wedding and HFS I’ve never been compelled to write a review for wedding cakes but had to because this baby put all the others I’ve had to shame. If I’m ever crazy enough to get married, this will be where I get my wedding cake — and it’s nonnegotiable, Future Wife!

RAD!!! guys, if you’re looking for something to take care of cuz your girl is going nuts accusing you of not getting involved in the wedding planning, call Andrea from Superfine Bakery and all will be forgiven. This girl was all over it with sketches of possible cake designs, going back and forth until my girl was happy and excited to try the samples. Hey, I took care of something! I found the cake and Superfine came with seriously the most delicious coconut lime wedding cake i have ever had. My new wife’s old man stole her piece at the wedding and made no apologies about it.
