Walter has 25 years experience in the automotive industry. He knows everything about cars. It’s Walter’s passion. He recently went out on his own and opened up his own business. This is the birth of Select Auto Tech and Walter’s dream of being a business owner. Walter’s goal is to have happy customers that keep on referring him through word of mouth marketing. He has strong values and carries himself and his himself in according to those beliefs. He’s truly different in his line of work compared to most auto repair shops. Walter started his business in January 2012 after being in the auto repair industry and working in the auto repair industry for the last 25 years. Now he’s an ASE Master Technician himself, ready to create happy and loyal customers.

Walter is all about customer service! He even offers his customers financing without any credit check.

His customers have now followed him to his new auto repair shop in Burbank CA. Reviews are constantly being poured in by his loyal customers when he was just an employee at the shop around town. Now he’s living the American dream of owning his own business. He knows the value of a dollar and realizes that his business is customer service and creating an auto repair shop that’s built around word-​of-​mouth advertising.

This business is great.
As a customer who came via referral from another long-​time customer, anyone claiming Walter and his team haven’t earned these reviews, frankly, doesn’t know what they’re talking about.
I recently had my oil changed and, through some auto-​lock system in my car (an older sedan), the door locked shut with my keys inside. This caused a bit of a delay and, after explaining my frustration to Walter, he went the extra mile, following up with me after-​hours the next day to ensure I was taken care of. He offered me a free oil change and tire rotation to make amends for any inconvenience. That, my fellow Unilocalers, is how you do good business.
I know very few mechanics who are a) honest, or b) have the integrity to always put their customers first. You can trust these guys, and I couldn’t endorse them more emphatically.

Walter is the best!
I found him through AAA /​Yelp reviews and it’s about time I wrote a Unilocal review myself.
About 16 months ago I brought my 1998 Honda to him after it overheated. Sadly, it needed a new radiator… Walter did a full inspection of my car and honestly advised me as to what was urgently needed and what would be needed in the future.
Walter takes the time to explain what work needs to be done (if any), why and how it impacts the car, safety and overall inter-​workings. Often times this is more than my brain can handle — but, it’s nice that he tries to communicate the information. :)

Everything you’d want from a Tech and a shop. I’ve been going to Walter for years and I trust him 100% with my ride and my wallet. In fact, I moved out of Burbank and still wouldn’t go anywhere else. Walter’s worth the extra drive.
He takes his time to explain the problem, go over your options, and help you decide the best course of action within your budget. If you’re willing to listen, you can learn a lot from him too, which could save you repairs in the future. Ask a question and he always has a thoughtful, knowledgable, and honest answer. I’ve had a ton of repair orders with him and never once has the actual cost been over the estimate.
Truth is, the unexpected repair on your car always sucks, but Walter’s friendliness and expertise makes the process less painful and worth the investment. Do yourself a favor and give Select Auto Tech a shot.

These guys are life savers! My car was leaking oil from everywhere and they found the problem right away they said it was a valve cover gasket or something like that. Well anyways my car hasn’t leaked any oil since. Very reasonable prices for amazing work! Now anytime my car needs anything done I bring it to these guys they are the best.

If I could get Walter and the guys at Burbank Select Auto more than 5 stars I would. I have been going to Walter since I moved to Los Angeles in 2008, and I have referred him to every single person who has ever asked me for mechanic suggestions. I followed him when he left Burbank Auto Repair to his own business there at Burbank Select Auto, and I would follow him wherever he decides to go (well in the Los Angeles region that is ;)
He is extremely thorough and never tries to push/​cheat me on anything to do with my car. He understands what needs to be done right now vs what you can wait on handling in the future. I’ve never had him steer me wrong and he always calls me before he does anything major on my car.
I urge you to go to Walter for any car needs you have!

Walter at Select Auto is the best!!! I have been going to him for about seven years, even before he opened his shop. I followed him to Select Auto because he does quality work, is always very honest and never tries to tell me I need something done to my car when I really don’t, like other places and dealerships have done. It is hard, especially as a female, to find a trustworthy mechanic who will not take advantage of the fact that I don’t know much about cars… So when I found Walter, I stuck with him! He does not over charge for the quality, time and care he puts into his customers and their cars. I will always go to Walter at Select Auto Tech and will always recommend him :) :) :)

Buyer Beware! I believe that the majority of the reviews on this business are friends of the owner.
I was overcharged for work that was performed. To add insult to injury, I had my car towed there and they charged me a 90 dollar fee for that. I used my AAA tow service, the shop had nothing to do with the tow and they charge me 90 bucks to accept my vehicle. I have never heard of any shop doing this. They should be embarrassed.
I took my car to another mechanic and they were laughing because of the ridiculousness of the price I was charged.
I will never take my car back, EVER!

I have been on the hunt for many years for a mechanic that is honest, knowledgeable, reliable and reasonably priced.
Walter is that mechanic.
He works with people’s budgets, lets you know what can wait and what needs to be done right away. He gives different options for what is more urgent.

Walter’s my main man! Went in for an oil change, got what I paid for and more. Good, honest recommendations with no unnecessary up-​sell. He even recommended a place to get my tire replaced. I’ve been going to Walter to take care of my cars for years. You can see the review I wrote for him when he was at Burbank Auto Repair.
Walter is honest, super knowledgeable, honest, reasonably priced, honest, hard-​working… and did I mention honest? He won’t try to get you to make repairs that you don’t need, and he will suggest simple, inexpensive preventative maintenance on your car that will extend it’s life and save you money in the long run.
From oil changes to major repairs, I won’t take my cars to anyone but Walter.
