Twinkle Twice Burbank

Im a mother of a 2 year old girl. Im expecting #2 and it’s a boy. I recently moved from L.a. so I thought I’d give it a try. Over all it was okay I think that some clothes can be over price while some is a steal. I think what stop this from being great was that I had pick up a few onsies thinking it was .79 cent short sleve and .99 cents for long sleve because thats what the bins said the socks also said .50cent when I checked out I paid .99 cents for all onsies and .59 cents for socks. Some stuff is worth is others can be better found at marshalls.

I thoroughly enjoy perusing the abundant selection Twinkle Twice has to offer. My 6 month old girl is always sporting a special onesie or jacket from their offerings! I can always find something a little more fun than what Carters has to offer and most items are $ 3.99-$ 4.99 a piece – who can possibly beat this for next to new items? No one I’ve found!

Picked up a «ExerSaucer» jumper and just finished putting it together. It is in great shape and my little one LOVES it. So happy I checked there first before some of the big box stores. I will definitely spread the word about this shop.

I regret the need to post this. While the store still has the largest selection of low-​end, not stylish clothing, there are still some gems in their pile.
Problem is the store recently changed hands and the new owner is not honoring store credit from the previous owner. Remember the nice married couple that ran this place? They don’t own it anymore. I’d sold and bought at least three rounds of clothes with Twinkle Twice, most recently purchasing a bathing suit and some pants late in Spring 2015. When I went in to the store this weekend, I was informed that I was not in the system and that I’d never sold clothes to them before. Kind of galling, when I’ve actually turned on at least a dozen other parents to the store. On top of that, the new owner is keeping track of store credit in a [cough, tax-​evasive!] wide ruled elementary school composition notebook, rather than a computer.
Whether I was cheated out of $ 3 or $ 30 in store credit from these new owners, I’ll stick with Grow Kid Grow in Silver Lake or Green Bean in Eagle Rock in the future.

Great selection! I was pleasantly surprised and walked away with a ton of stuff.

Great place for inexpensive clothes for toddlers. Some of this stuff is brand new. Great selection and they also have toys.

I love this store! Great customer service, very clean and well-​organized, great selection of quality items, and the cutest little boutique of new outfits and costumes for little girls I have ever seen! The owner is great to work with on custom orders for these outfits. She made herself available to me, and worked hard to make my vision for my daughter’s first birthday outfits a reality in my brief timeline and budget.

Cute shop with very friendly staff. Very clean and well organized, with a wide variety of clothes for boys and girls. They also have bouncers/​swings, pack-​n-​plays, blankets, diaper bags… almost anything you can think of. Most things are reasonably priced. I got a few NB onesies and hats from here, as baby likely won’t stay in that stage for long & two cute outfits, and paid under $ 15. Definitely worth checking out, especially if you’re looking to save some $$.

I found some great onesies for a dollar here and their set up was very cute! Love the playhouse and their window display! I will definitely return for more items as my son grows older.

Great selection of onsies for a $ 1 a bought a bunch to use as decorations for an upcoming shower.

Went here for the first time yesterday, as my daughter had a performance at her school and we had to put a last minute 1850’s outfit together.
Got there right before they closed and the lady graciously waved us in and told us she’s not closed yet, but allowed us to take our time to search around. We told her what we needed and BOOM! She immediately put an outfit together for us to choose from. Random 1850 outfits are not exactly easy to figure or put together, but she was great with her options and assistance.
Great spot!!! :)

Went here with a pregnant cousin who was looking for a bouncer. The prices were steep especially for being second hand. Most of the items, including a double stroller which wouldn’t be priced more than $ 200 at a retailer, were $ 200 and up at this store! This is a shame. My cousin and I opted to try other stores near Magnolia.

Twinkle Twice has a little bit of everything! Prices are very fair and the staff is super knowledgeable and patient. I’ve been wanting to visit this store for a while, I’m glad I finally did!

This is my first and only pregnancy and Lisa was super helpful and knowledgable to answer my questions. She gave me a great deal on my crib and changing table. She also informed me that car seats have expiration dates, which I had no idea. Good thing she told me I’m due soon and had an expired car seat donated from a friend. I highly recommend her shop, she has lots of items and a good variety! Thank you Lisa wish you all the best.

Went to Babies R Us and didn’t see anything I liked. Found this hidden gem in 5 minutes of walking out the store. Cute and hip babies clothes of all ages. Carriages and basinets galour!

I went in to sell some of my two children’s clothes, the owner Lisa is so lovely! She was very meticulous in what she took and gave me a very fair price! The shop is beautifully done and very well organized!

Attention new mommies like me! I absolutely love this shop! The new owner Lisa is so sweet and gave me a great deal. I got a ton of clothes for my 4 month old son. Grabbed Some high end clothes like Paul Frank and brand new baby Polo outfit as well for about $ 6.00. Oh and some freakin adorable costumes for the holidays like reindeer slippers and vest and a Dalmatian jumpsuit! I Also got a mobile for his crib for about $ 9.99 Im going back next week to sell some items I no longer need; and get some toys for my little guy. This place is clean and well organized and its like a treasure hunt. I know that I will find some thing awesome and unique every time I visit. :-)

Just a little update on the owner’s rebuttal.
«It is non of your business on how much we mark up our items, this is business for us we have to make a profit from everything that we buy bec we have a lot of expenses as well. We are not the bank that after you used your clothing you basically want your money back on how much you paid for it? You should have just went to Gap or to all those brand names that you said and get your money back from them after using their items. » –Marta, owner of Twinkle Twice

According to Marta, the owner of Twinkle Twice, it is none of the customer’s business how much they mark up their items.
What they are saying is that even though they offer you «half of what the store’s retail cost will be», it’s none of your business what the retail cost will actually be. Why is this? Because they are shady dealers, why else? If they are giving you a fair shake for what your item is worth then there would be no need to tell us it’s none of our business. In all actuality Twinkle Twice, it is most certainly a customer’s business how much you mark up your items, if you are offering half of what you’re store’s retail value will be.
Like I stated before, you have no idea whether or not you are getting a fair value for your items because they will not price them in front of you. By the owner’s logic, it is perfectly fine for them to give you a low ball offer and then turn around and mark it up as high as they want to. And don’t forget that it’s none of your business.
I was never expecting to receive a 100% turnaround of value for an item as Marta is implying in her personal attack against me. («We are not the bank that after you used your clothing you basically want your money back on how much you paid for it? You should have just went to Gap or to all those brand names that you said and get your money back from them after using their items.») I was however expecting a FAIR value in trade which is half of what the retail mark up is in their store, as they state on their website. Thank you for informing me that you are not the bank though, it is dually noted.
I find it interesting that the owner would need to post photos of 6 (out of 50) items of the clothes she took from me, stating that they were so old that she couldn’t mark them up that high. The Lucky Brand sweatpants I purchased from the store yesterday were priced at $ 7.99 and were from 2010. You know what happens when you tell one lie, right? You have to keep telling more and more to cover up the first one you got called out on.
The bottom line is this.
~Twinkle Twice does not give a fair trade value.
~The owner is not truthful and you will get hustled.
~As a customer, you will have no idea what the retail mark up of your items will be and the owner wants you to know that it’s none of your business.
~If you write a truthful Unilocal review of your experience, you will not get an apology or an invitation to try it again. No, rather the owner’s husband will send you threatening messages in your inbox and then the owner herself will use lies, personal attacks and fallacious arguments to excuse their shady business practices. You will also get a notice to «cease and desist» from the owner which I am chuckling at right now.
I am surprised no one has reported them to the BBB yet. Good grief.
