A fairly basic park– if you need some outdoor chill time or a space to go for a quick jog, this place might hit the spot. Or if your kids need to get out some extra energy. But there really isn’t much going on here. There’s a baseball diamond(permit required, according to signage) and some grassy space(possibly once a soccer field?), ringed by a trail. Shaded area provides a jungle gym, a few swings and picnic benches. There is a bathroom available and a dedicated parking lot.

So I dont know how this happened, but the munchkin and I actually were super early for a birthday party at Kids Castle next door to this park. Since we had way too much time to kill, we walked over to the park and I let the munchkin run wild… She immediately turned into a Tasmanian Devil and went on a whirlwind terror campaign through the jungle gym. I was scared for my life sitting at a nearby bench. Munchkins do the damndest things. Then out of nowhere things got real bad. The munchkin ran into some of the girls from her dance class and they did a joint disembowlment on the jungle gym. It looked like it was about to collapse from where I was sitting!!! Ohhhhh the HUMANITY! Pro Tip: Park on the street in the shade during the summer months vs in the sun in the parking lot. So I am mortified of the craziness that these lil tater tots are attacking the structure with. It was almost like a mongel horde ripping through a defenseless village, but only worse. The wild abandon that these younglings went up down through around over and under this jungle gym still astounds me today. I may never be able to recover. Also beaware that you may need to watch out for the occasional foul ball from the baseball field adjacent to the jungle gym. A great safety feature is that there is a giant fence around the park keeping the kids from getting out except through the main gate from what I saw. So yeah when we left the park, I had a happy complacent listening daughter who had spent most of your pent up energy making my parenting job for the remainder of the day much much easier =D

No slide. The climbing structure and the swings are so far apart that there is no way you can keep an eye on your kids if they want to do different things. It is separated by rows and rows of picnic benches. This park would be great for picnics and bday parties. There is a large grassy field, great for running around. Unfortunately there was a co-Ed adults soft ball game going on so it was off limits on a Saturday morning. Restrooms: yes Parking lot: yes Water fountain: broken and dirty Next to Kid’s Castle. I won’t be coming back unless it is to practice t-ball with my son.

Great park. There are two softball fields, some benches to sit, and the bathrooms are pretty nice for a public park. It’s not a big park, but a nice spot to hit some balls around or have a gathering.

The Robert Gross Park is a gem in the South Burbank neighborhood. This park has a very modern playground for the kids and two well-kept softball/baseball fields for the rest of us. My crew and I borrowed the field this Sunday morning for a heated battle of soccer and enjoyed the manicured grassy field between the diamonds. It’s fairly quiet there, being in a residential area, with an occasional train whisking passengers by. A lone bum shared the field with us that morning. Although he occupied himself with sleeping in the morning sun. We let him be and he the same for us; Cooperating and enjoying the park in harmony.
