Some of these Unilocal reviews are harsh! I’ve been here about 5 times in the last few weeks for miscellaneous things… a dump/​flush, window gaskets, new locks, and various parts. The staff is really friendly and helpful and they answer all of my naïve questions. Reasonable prices, good inventory, beats driving out to the bigger box stores and waiting for online shipping. Nice little Burbank business. I’m satisfied so far!

I needed some recall work done and they are not only taking care of that but they also found more recalls that they are going to fix! So far so good!

This has become my go to for dump and fill with a good flush. For $ 20 and a short drive here, it’s worth it.
The customer service is great to. Friendly and helpful.
I haven’t needed to get any other service but when I do, I’ll come here.
Some days I just head straight for the mountains after service and it’s so close.

My husband and I came across Metro RV while planning our honeymoon. We spoke to a woman named Cheryl who has been our point person since day one and after touring a 2014 Forester 24 Ft. RV we decided to rent it from Metro RV for our honeymoon and take a one week road trip within CA. The pricing has been very fair and the RV was adorable and very updated and very comfortable. The staff and Cheryl have been very welcoming and I would recommend this company for anyone that is seeking the RV experience at a great price.

Yes yes yes! Hell yes. these people know what they’re doing. they do it well. they treat people with respect and they get the job done. not only am I so excited about what is going on with our RV I’m really excited and honored to say that they will give a discount to veterans. My family is proud to say that metro RV will be the only place to take care of our house on wheels.

avoid!!! they sold me an rv that I couldn’t register. stuck making payments for 3 years on an rv that I couldn’t drive legally. besides that they lied about the condition and were not able to make proper repairs. do yourself a favor and go anywhere else.

We just finished our first rental with Metro RV and could not have been more pleased with every aspect of the experience. We needed an RV for an annual trip and Cheryl was able to beat the price of another place with a much nicer RV. Cheryl was great to deal with. The RV was even nicer than expected and everything worked out great. I will definitely be renting from Metro again next year!

STAY AWAY! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS PLACE!
I could write pages and pages of examples and specific experiences, but I don’t think you will have the time to read them.
The bottom line is, Roberto Almuina (Owner) is a crook. We’ve had years of interaction with this place and it just never ends. The damage to our RV (often with attempts to hide it), the requests to fix things that go unfulfilled for months, even the refusal to put a simple repair order for a $ 100 item in writing (for fear of having to actually fix the item? I don’t know).
Do yourself a favor and stay away. Even if you have to pay more money, or spend more time driving somewhere else, do it. Once you step foot into this place, you will enter a never ending abyss of problems and frustrations.

My wife and recently rented a 25′ Winnebago View for 1 week during the holidays.
After reading the horrible reviews about Metro RV I was skeptical about renting from them. It was the most convenient location for us so I said «WTF». I stopped by 1 month prior to our vacation to check out what they had to offer and was pleasantly surprised at the condition of their rentals. The rental person «Cheryl» was not in so I made a appointment to see her a few days later. When I showed up there were quite a few more RV’s on site to check out so I asked to take a look. Cheryl was happy to give me the grand tour of all the RV’s that were there, showing me all the functions, bells & whistles they had to offer. She was very knowledgeable about the RV’s right down to the MPG’S.
After the awesome attitude I received from Cheryl I decided to reserve one. We went to her office and she broke down all the prices and made me feel very good about the price and assured me there would be no bullshit «hidden charges» to look forward to.
She promised me that I would get the exact RV that we looked at and would not pull the old «BAIT & SWITCH» and leave me with a broke down old junk box the day of my departure. She even gave me a earlier pick-​up time, and a later return time to make our trip a little more enjoyable.
On the day of our departure I showed up to see that they were washing the RV. I went inside and paid the rest of my bill and was greeted by Cheryl with a smile on her face.
We quickly took care of the paper work and I was sent on my way. During my orientation I notice that the RV had some minor dents and scratches but nothing too bad. The interior I thought could use a little more love but I was eager to get on the road, so off we went.
We spent a few days at a 3 different lakes and had a so much fricken fun with our RV!
We fished, hiked, drank, cooked never once having any problems with it. We opted for a few nights without full hook-​ups so we could be right next to the water. The propane heater and generator worked great, and the shower had plenty of hot water and very good water pressure. The dinning table pop-​out feature was awesome giving us plenty of space to cook our meals and hang out watching DVDS while looking at our campfire through the screen door. We were very sad to leave.
Upon return I was greeted by Cheryl again and did the return paper work. We actually returned the RV with the Interior a little cleaner than it was when we received it so there was no problems. We are already staring to plan a Yosemite trip
later this year and possibly renting a larger RV from Metro. Cheryl is a professional
and very helpful. If you are planning a RV trip I would highly recommend going in to see her about your rental.

18 months later and we still can’t get the title to sell or register the RV. Seriously the worst!

These guys have done quite a few repairs on two of our vehicles. It’s not always the most speedy, but it is good work. We keep coming back because of the convenient location too!

I went in on a Saturday with my oldie but goodie camper/​van without an appointment. I was packing for a trip and the electrical inside wouldn’t work. The generator was running but no lights :(I was expecting to have a big electrical issue or connection problem, but it was just a «stupid girl’s» mistake. Some plug and some minor issue. Totally fixed w/​o a hassle or anything. Very helpful and courteous.
I’ve read lots of negative about this place, but I’ve been taking my little old van in there for a year now with good service.

To any of you motor home owners, or if you are planning to buy one. Stay far away from Metro RV in Burbank. 2 years ago we traded our small RV in for a bigger one. Well, they took 3 ½ months to pay off our trade in. We kept calling and bugging them and made sure the credit union that we had the loan with, was aware of the trade and that Metro RV was dragging their feet. They always had an excuse why it hadn’t been paid off. But luckily all was resolved because we were persistent.
Well, today an investigator from the DMV came to our house to ask about the transaction. Turns out Metro RV has been embezzling hundreds of thousands of dollars. Selling RV’s, taking trade-​ins, selling them and never paying off the loans as agreed. They are dirty rotten cheats. The investigator said we were lucky, because about 60 other RV owners have had their credit affected from their loans going into default. We will gladly testify against them if need be. It’s just shocking to me that they have the guts to try and rip people off like that. Especially a business that’s been there for years. Very sad & disappointing. The DMV has revoked their license to sell vehicles ever again, and they are trying to file bankruptcy. But they are still in business repairing RV’s, selling RV supplies and renting them. So please, do not do business with them. Save yourselves. And if you, or someone you know has had similar problems, call the DMV and ask for investigator, Kenneth Holt. (562) 403‑1020. Help him build a case on these horrible people.

Ok so my review is very different from all of the reviews listed before me. I rent my 2013 Thor hurricane 35ft class A mobile home. Metro Rv had had my RV since the beginning of 2014. They have taken care of my baby Thor from day one. Everyone one that has rented my RV– THANK YOU for taking care of it. Service is great, Cheryl is great, so helpful when we have question. If you are want to rent a RV give them a call. They are good.

There are many things I should have done before having my RV serviced at Metro. I should have not been in such a hurry (we were leaving on a cross country trip in a week and I took too much time purchasing my ride), I should have had the RV completely checked out before I purchased, and I should have read these Metro RV reviews on Unilocal before I took it in.
Got me a used, ’86 Toyota Rogue with 170k miles on it. She’s in great condition. The family that we bought her from took real good care of her. But she needed a few things: horizontal propane tank, a vent for the fridge, and a belt tightened. There was that ‘squealing’ sound whenever the AC was clicked on or the engine went beyond certain RPMs. I was told it was the belt. Sounds like an easy fix right?
Took her into Metro and was helped by Jesse.
Jesse addressed the vent, ordered me a propane tank, and later told me his mechanics discovered the squealing was because of the air compressor and I needed a new one.
Jesse brought me back to talk to his parts guy, Victor who explained that a new compressor would be essential for such a long drive. I hemmed and hawwed, I was in a rush, and already sinking more $$ than I wanted to spend, but I agreed… in person. Verbally. Meaning, yes, I authorized the go ahead to get the part and begin the fix. Jesse, for some reason, wanted to get me the price first. I asked for a ballpark. He and Victor gave me one. I still agreed. Let me type that again… I agreed.
Yet, Jesse never ordered the part. He kept insisting he was waiting to get me a price well after I already told him to go ahead and get it, regardless of the quote.
The process took DAYS. I was 3 days behind on my cross country trip. My mother in law had flown out to join us on the journey and her vacation time was quickly slipping away.
Finally the compressor arrived and took another day to install. And to my surprise, the engine was still squealing! We were so behind we were planning to leave that night. Still had to load the camper, etc. I asked, for my inconvenience, a modest 20% discount. I was laughed at. They gave me a measly discount and a screaming engine to deal with. As I was checking out, Victor, who was arguing on the side of Metro, once I relented, told me that Jesse «had to wait to get me an exact quote, regardless of my giving him the go ahead because they’ve been burned before by customers who decide to change their minds when they get the firm number.» You know, I get it, but Jesse could have been up front with me about that. Instead, I got danced around and my vacation thwarted.
We did leave that night. Drove several «squealing» hours just to get some road behind us. Spent the night in Nevada. Next morning I took our RV to a nearby mechanic who addressed the squealing, targeted the problem and fixed it within an hour. Only charged me $ 50.
It’s kind of a joke with me and my family now. Whenever we drive passed Metro RV, I roll down my window, shake my fist and ala James T. Kirk, I yell out «Jessseeeeeee!»

This place is bad news – BEWARE!

I bought a 2006, fifth wheel toyhauler and it was supposed to be all in good working order– well I took it out and found out it was a piece of junk: I took it back– the owner, Roberto, said they do something like 6 hours labor to fix the problems, which were;
1). Generator would shut off after about 5 minutes
2). Fuel station had rusty sludge in it.
3). Sink water didn’t work.
4). Tank drain valve didn’t work– pull was like a bent coathanger.
5). Front jacks didn’t work.
6). Sofa mount ripped from the wall.
Certainly there’s more, just can’t recall now.
They put a nail in the mechanism instead of a bolt for the front jacks– which worked maybe 3 times till I had it fixed by a reputable shop. (Clark’s RV repair in Ridgecrest.
The generator was not repaired– contrary to the service department. Prognagthas Engineering in Ridgecrrest found the carburetor was all clogged up from the crap in the fuel station– metro told me they replaced the main control board– tried to get 530 bucks from me but instead charged me $ 130 for a non– original mfg one THAT WAS NEVER TOUCHED!
The kitchen faucet wasn’t fixed– a plumber friend told me it was just the aerator — I replaced it but the water pump surges.
Sigh. Guess I learned a bit– I’ll certainly never buy anything from metro RV and I’ll not likely buy a Forest River /​Cherokee product again.

I have NEVER in my life experienced anything like this. If you are a traveller looking to rent or buy an RV in California DO NOT under ANY circumstances do your business with Metro RV. Keith (Rental Manager) and Tony (Rental Consultant) are the two most dishonest, slimy and unprofessional sales people I have ever come across — and I work in sales so I’ve met a few!
My partner and I rented a C Class RV from Metro RV in April for 62 days — a one way rental from LA to NYC. Their price was competitive but on par with other companies. The vehicle was pretty run down and needed maintenance — missing cupboard door latch (so our food would fly across the room on corners), leaking roof (dangerously so, through a light socket and onto the bed), TV aerial never worked, decayed windscreen wipers (fun in a storm), headlight lamp out (which we replaced), NO ENGINE OIL (which we sorted out based on Keith’s approval of a mechanic’s invoice — the Dodge mechanic we went to was horrified at how low it was, given the distance we were travelling. Metro RV cut corners on their maintenance), and we did 13mpg not the 17mpg they repeatedly told us we’d get.
Mileage we planned to travel was discussed with Tony, who built the 7,500 miles into our cost (we only ended up traveling 5,700 miles as our plans changed). Insurance and all other fees etc were also included in our cost. Metro RV was to arrange for the return of the vehicle to California — Keith was originally going to book flights for Tony to meet us in NYC to drive the vehicle back to California (flights, fuel etc, all return expenses were included in our original cost — never did tony factor the return mileage into our quote when negotiating).
We paid a $ 1,000 deposit in case of any accidents/​damages (pretty straightforward stuff). And we were lucky, we had no accidents, and caused no damage to the vehicle.
At the end of the contract, I received no call, no email, no statement, no formal notification or evidence of inspection, and no professional follow up. Three weeks later I received a verbal phone call from Keith telling me they found a stress fracture on the rear bumper, a crack in the roof AC unit and the return mileage went over what we’d originally paid, which was all going to cost me in the vicinity of $ 1600!!! wtf?
Luckily I had taken my own photos the day our trip finished, and could prove there was NO CRACK on the rear bumper. I have heard nothing from Keith regarding my photos, no report, and certainly no photo evidence of the supposed crack he found, which tells me he is lying. Keith is an absolute liar and now avoiding my calls and hasn’t responded to any of my emails. .
He is literally STEALING my money!
The mileage was clearly stated on our contract as 7,500 miles. The return mileage of the vehicle is not applicable to us, as Metro RV was returning the vehicle to California. Even Lynn in their office agreed with this, saying «all return costs would have been built into your quote, that doesn’t make sense».
They haven’t even had the decency to return the $ 366 which i spent fixing THEIR vehicle!
This is THE WORST business i have ever dealt with. Liars and thieves, and they’ll just avoid you until you go away — making extra money out of unsuspecting travellers.
Who is making rotten businesses like these accountable for their actions — or can they just carry on stealing people’s money?

I just purchased my 1999 American Tradition from Metro RV. Good sales staff and the prep work was done on time. They also fixed some small things that I missed on my list. I had rented more then once before I purchased. Tony in the rentals was lots of help.

Had my coach 1 year now! No problems and we are loving the freedom. We have been back for normal maintenance and repairs. Could not be more happy!

I wished I would have checked the Unilocal reviews before coming to this place.
I was told that financing for an RV would be attainable and I was «practically approved» by the dealership, but about a week or so later after the full down payment (which ended up being $ 4000 dollars), the «financial» guys FINALLY called me up and told me I was not going to get approved. With that, I had to chase down the dealership in attempt to get my down payment back and it’s been 2 months and they still have not returned it to me, despite my calls, and their promises. They were supposed to have returned it as soon as the financing fell through and it’s a large amount of money that they’re holding on to illegitimately, since I have no RV or anything. Since then, I’ve filed a dispute against them from my credit card company, but this place is pretty shady and I would NOT recommend or trust them with any amount of money.
AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS.

This place is TERRIBLE.
1. Major problems with the RV that made the hefty sum we spent to rent a bummer.
2. Made to watch an incredibly outdated video tape to explain how to use the RV vs. a person who could actually take time and explain. Our follow up questions were met with shortness.
3. UTTERLY OUTRAGEOUS labor fees for the couple of things that needed to be repaired upon return. Plus the employee told me it was one amount, only to be higher.
Overall — horrible unhelpful service experience, rv not in good working order, and TOTAL RIP OFF for labor charges on our deposit.
I’d avoid this place at all costs and the fact that they don’t have one good review … should have looked at Unilocal first before being taken.
