RESPONSE TO COMMUNITY CHEVROLET:
Mr. Wes M., If you are, as you say, «…very disappointed» that I did not have a positive experience with Community,” and that, «We are going to use your feedback to improve our store and ensure this does not occur in the future,» then how come you DIDN’T contact me directly (my name and address are still in your system), call or write a business letter and voice your resolve? And/​or even Welcome me back. Instead, after 6 months, and after (forced as an only option) I contacted Chevy Corp, Community Chevrolet not only DIDN’T contact me to assuage all that went wrong, but instead told Corp. that I was «being threatening,» — even though I’m handicap, and thus BARRED me from coming back to Community Chevrolet.
So why the DECEPTION! to the public.
You DIDN’T do all you could! No one did! You didn’t do anything but try to cover it all up with settle lies which is weird because as a Project Manager, I’ve found after 30 years of experience that most problems are easily resolved by making a simple gesture to the customer by calling and talking to them. Give me a call, directly, if you’re sincere and we can clear this all up – but only if you’re sincere. Today’s date is March 17, 2016. After all this, I would think that I should hear from you soon. It’ll be a pleasure.
ORIGINAL COMPLAINT:
There is an obvious breach of trust between Community Chevrolet and the Community in which they serve.
Summary
* I’ve been a 3 year customer of Community Chevrolet
* In Feb, 2014, as recommended, I had my brake pads replaced at Community Chevrolet.
* When braking, these New Break Pads made a periodic, horrendous noise that sounded like a Semi Truck coming to an abrupt/​skidding stop.
* I brought this to the attention of the Service Manager and the Supervisor of the Mechanics (by their own account; each with over 30 years of experience).
* They both informed me that they could find nothing wrong.
* Noise continued, but no fact finding nor resolved offered by neither the Service Manager nor the Mechanic Supervisor (60 years of experience between both).
* FIVE MONTHS of Run Around, of GOING BACK AND FORTH with Community Chevrolet but to no avail.
* Suddenly, AFTER 5 MONTHS, another mechanic happened to be outside and test drove my car, then casually CONFIRMED that the noise is caused by the material on the brake pads.
* I started my own research (internet), and talked to other mechanics from other GM shops only to find out this is a «Common Occurrence,» and that ANY MECHANIC would know this just by how you «described» it.
* Called GM Corp., and luckily, it was their very own operator who informed me of her exact experience and mentioned that her issue was resolved when her independent mechanic recommended purchasing a «High Performance» brake pad — something never mentioned nor offered by Community Chevrolet for over a 5 month period.
* AGGRAVATION & STRESS OVER A 5 MONTH PERIOD FOR SOMETHING THAT COULD’VE BEEN IMMEDIATELY RESOLVED.
* Went to the GM shop in Glendale, CA, and they immediately identified the problem as, «…FOUND ROTORS TO HAVE VERY POOR FINISH, DEEP CUTS LINES WITH ROUGH FINISH. BRAKE PADS HAVE EXCESSIVE AMOUNT OF METAL CONTENT CAUSING FRICTION GRINDING ON ROUGH ROTOR FINISH.
* Since August 8, 2014, after having my car service at another GM shop, I have not have one problem with my Break Pads and today is March 30, 2015.
* Even though Community wouldn’t refund my money, I contacted VISA. They investigated, found Community Chevrolet to be at fault, and refunded my money for the full amount.
* I spent a lot of unnecessary time and effort for DEFICIENT SERVICE & A SEVERE LACK OF ACCOUNTABILTY from supervisors who are most accountable at Community Chevrolet.
* But if you seriously consider what took place, if this were an experience of yours, what adjectives would you use to describe all that I experienced? I spent over five months worrying why my car was not as it was PRIOR to bringing it to Community Chevrolet. I worried, spent my days worrying, over something I KNEW WASN’T RIGHT, something I KNEW WAS FOUL.
* I SPENT MY TIME STRESSED, AGGRAVATED; GOING BACK AND FORTH WITHOUT THEIR SLIGHTEST CONSIDERATION FOR ONE’S TIME, OR FOR ME AS A PAYING CUSTOMER — NOT EVEN THE COURTESY AS A PERSON WHO SPENT OVER $ 700. & WITH A FAMILY OF FOUR.
IS THIS THE KIND OF TREATMENT THAT YOU EXPECT from your Community?!
* There is an obvious breach of trust between Community Chevrolet and the Community in which they serve.
* It is the very quality of character that we teach and hope our kids never grow up to be, i.e., the buffoon, a dope, a dimwit that others incessantly shake their heads over.

I’ll never be a returning customer. I’ve had the worst experiences working with Ned and Liaden (Junior), their knowledge of the cars is limited and even having to use google to answer my basic question of adding cruise control to the car. Under contract of $ 500 they promised to put cruise control on the new car… after 3 weeks it was finally installed and a month of using it, I realized it was not right (not responding to the brake or on/​off switch, and in an impossible location). I went back and after 40 min. of arguing with Ned he made an appointment the next week, February 15^th, for a «diagnostics test» clearly not believing me that it is actually flawed. After the results coming back they found a button to be broken but didn’t warn me not to use the cruise control nor doing anything about it. I haven’t heard from them since… they’re not responding to my phone calls or texts and are never in the office. I bought my car in October and it’s now March…

Went by to look at a Malibu offer they had for a friend. Everyone there was very friendly and accommodating. The salesman who showed us the car had just the right amount of umph and knowledge that it was reassuring and not annoying. My friend called in advance for his particular situation to see if he qualified for the offer, and the finance woman was busy up until he got there and through the test drive. After going through all the motions, he didn’t qualify, which is fine, but it would have been nicer to have not gone. But there’s nothing really wrong with someone being busy, and he could have waited for a call back.
I feel like buying a Chevy is emotional rather than logical. A new car there has lower MPG than other brands of equivalent prices and the inside feels cheap for the price though standard features are much better than before. It seems like Ford is the only domestic car company really competing against a Honda or Prius.
If you’re wanting a Chevy, I highly recommend this dealership. The people are very kind and knowledgable. Our salesman even correctly warned my friend about a dealer tactic and saved him a trip to another dealer. They are not too desperate feeling, which soooooo rare in car dealerships.

Elizabeth Bonilla and Mark Evans provide a great experience. I’ll return for service at Community Chevrolet. My Cruze was returned clean and Mark advised on upcoming maintenance needs. I came in for an oil change without an appointment late in the afternoon. In the future I’ll make an appointment, but wow, they got me in and out quickly.

Bought a Spark EV (electric) car from them. Sam Gambrah Sr. was an excellent salesperson. Extremely knowledgeable. No hassle experience. Highly recommend!

Hugo is service always tale get care of me. Easy, honest and no hassles.

Do not buy a vehicle here cause they will lose your down payment or your check and finance dept all need to get fired cause I purchased a car on 1÷18÷2016 and on 1÷25÷2015 the salesman that sold me that can finance rep said they hadn’t receive my check and I went in person and took in the check. Why do they have people working here that don’t what they are doing

4 hours to do an oil change & inspection, 4 HOURS!!! Oh but when I called to check in coincidentally «It’ll be ready in 10min». & not one apology.

I wanted to personally thank Vic Marsh the service manager for going beyond the call of duty. I had an out of warranty issue with my car and Vic came to the rescue and got my car fixed for me. Good customer service like this is why I will come to Community Chevrolet for my next vehicle purchase. Thanks Vic!

Harry Holdsworth was great. The General Manager was great. Kelly was very pleasant and helpful on the phone and gave me a good feeling about getting a car from Community. I love the ‘family business’ of Community.

Vic took personal charge of my service and made me feel like a valued member of the family. It doesn’t get any better! And BTW: Love that you now have bench seating both inside and out for us slightly handicapped folk. Great job!

Hugo in service has a terrible attitude. He needs to be replaced. I will never ever take my car for service back to community Chevrolet just because of him and when I buy my fiancé a new Camaro I won’t be buying it from community Chevrolet because of Hugo somebody needs to teach him something about customer service

Bob Greene and Steve Born got me an amazing deal on my 2016 Chevy Volt. The process was fast and smooth. I could not have been happier.
Got in and out with in the hour. I am so happy and proud of my new Chevy Volt from Community Chevrolet! Ask for BOB and STEVE!

Mark was extremely knowledgable, attentive and responsive. He was not just another «person working in a service department» like one might find at another dealership. Actually, everyone that I encountered at Community Chevrolet was fantastic.
This was an A+ experience.

I have too many good things to say to even know where to start!
First off, before I came here I had owned 4 cars, all bought through private owners, all awful. But I hated the idea of going to a car dealership! Finally there was no other option.
THANK GOODNESS for them. Saved my sanity, and gave me a GREAT price! Anasheh helped us through our entire process and I could not have been happier! She was so friendly and not overpowering, as I can tend to get overwhelmed very easily and was extremely worried about that. Cars aren’t my strong suit, and she was so patient and happy to help me! I couldn’t believe it, I was asking so many questions I was even annoying myself.
I just can’t say thank you enough. On the car, the customer service, the prices and options, thank you. Thank you thank you thank you!

The sales manager and salesman deliberately added $ 1400 to the already negotiated price of the vehicle without telling me. The only reason I caught it was because I read the final sales contract. When confronted, both the salesman and sales manager refused to admit any wrong doing and would not honor the original deal. I was forced to take financing options with my credit union instead of the 0% APR I was approved for and promised. The sales manager stated that I would see a $ 1500 loss of rebates with 0% APR, to which I agreed, but when viewing the final sales contract I noticed a $ 2900 loss of rebates. Both the sales manager and salesman said there was nothing they could do to help me and refused to show me the previously signed paper which showed only $ 1500 of lost rebates. The sales manager claimed I was being childish and he refused to «dig through the trash and play these games «when I asked him to show me the signed documentation. The sales manager’s name was Ned Graham and the sales man’s name was Sam.
Overall I am very disappointed in the buying experience and I feel like I was cheated.
I followed up with this:
As stated previously, the salesman and sales manager cheated me on the final price and finance option. Unbeknownst to me, they modified or otherwise altered rebate and credit documents AFTER I had signed and agreed to an exact price and finance option. When I confronted the sales manager and asked why they didn’t tell me the price was changed, he claimed that I should have use «basic math» to figure it out. He was completely rude and unprofessional. I plan on leaving this review on Unilocal and other popular rating services to express my dissatisfaction and warm others about the shady con men at Community Chevrolet.
After 5 heated hours of «negotiations» I left, hoping I could come back the next day and speak to someone reasonable. Unfortunately Ned was still there, so I gave in and used my own financing, even though I knew they were being ethically wrong towards me. I’ve never experienced such a humiliating and disrespectful level of service from a dealership, and I’ve dealt with the likes of Drivetime and other shady dealers (live and learn people). Needless to say, these guys deserve less than a one star review.

This rating is for the service department. I made my appointment 3 weeks in advance to get a Saturday appointment. When I made the appointment I specified exactly what recalls I needed fixed. After I show up to my appointment and we go through all the paperwork and he leaves to get my mileage on my car, he realizes the technician that handles the two recalls on my car that I made the appointment for does not work on weekends. They had even called me the day before to confirm my appointment. None of these people thought to check to make sure the guy works weekends. There was virtually no apology. I asked if they had a relationship with any other chevy dealership in the area and if they could try to help me get in there since I had driven all the way out there and he said he has a relationship with them but he wouldn’t call. Never going back!

Do not lease from these people. Their deals are terrible and their sales people do not get back to you in timely matter. They waste time.
Also do not turn in your leased car here, they made me wait two hours even for the guy to come and see the car. This is despite the fact that when I came in and talked to three different people here I told them that I wanted to turn in my car lease and look at the deals on the new one. But they didn’t do it they just showed me the new ones and let the other guy go to lunch.
Their service department is great, came in a few times and was happy with the service

Probably the worst dealership in the Los Angeles area. I contacted the internet Department about a new Corvette. I was assured that someone would get back to me. I attempted 3 more times about a Corvette they have in stock, but no one returned my calls. I guess they do not want my money. I contacted another dealership in the valley and they were very happy to work with me. At the end of the day, I decided to by a 2015 Camaro Z28 for a deep discount…
Not sure if these guys are in the business to sell cars, because they lost out on a sale…

In my search for a 2015 suburban we stopped in to test drive and possibly buy a new suburban.
Since I’m in sales I’m over the whole «salesie– mumbo jumbo’» We were greeted by a gentleman who showed us the car we were interested in. However, we were more interested in talking price vs being SOLD on the car. We had already made up our mind before walking in the door. We WANTED the suburban. We communicated to our sales rep that we already knew the specs of the car since we currently owned a chevy and we had already done our research. However, the sales rep just kept reiterating the bells and whistles of the car. (which we already knew). Even when I told him over and over again he continued to harp on the specs of the car.
We spent about 2.5 hours talking about the samethings before I decided it was time to just go home. The sales manager came out and did the whole «song and dance» to try and retain our business and I still was not impressed. They were trying to sale us a brand new suburban for the exact sticker price and wouldn’t budge on price (no thanks).
Also I found it odd that our sales rep had a desk in the corner while the other sales rep had offices to utilize. Honestly it felt like our business just want not wanted there because of our race. It was just really really weird.
Not only is the service BAD at this location (Because we’ve had our chevy serviced at this location a few months prior) the sales is BAD. We eventually purchased the Suburban the next day at a different dealer in Valencia for 20K cheaper then this dealership was selling the car and also they provided 4K more toward the trade in Value of our other chevy. (seems weird doesn’t it)…
Go somewhere else… Allen Gweyn is a good dealership not too far south located in Glendale.
