Linda Matchett, DDS

I have been going to Dr. Matchett for 14 years and have always trusted that she has done what was in my best interest. She has all the technical skills you could ask for and a great chair side manner. I have recommended her and her staff to many people.

Dr Matchett is not only my favorite Dentist I’ve had, she’s also the best! She’s honest and her her work is excellent. I’ve referred all my family to her. Love the office staff too! Carmen and Marina you are great! they make you feel comfortable that you want to come back every 6 months for cleaning. They also have teeth whitening available. Love this Dr and her office highly recommend

I have been a loyal patient to Dr. Linda Matchett for several years. I love the way they treat their patients. They are honest and explain treatment in detail. I get my cleanings done 3 times a year for the past few years. I’ve known the staff for a while now. I am appalled at the latest review I read here. I have never met this person who claims to have worked there for 6 months. I know Daniela, at the front desk, and Armine, the dr’s assistant, they are the only ones who’ve been working with Dr. Matchett for years. I love their work ethic and will continue to recommend their services to family and friends.

Great office in a convenient location. Parking is easy, and the staff is gentle and polite. And there’s no pain! Their prices are competitive, too. I’ve had four quadrants deep cleaning done, and today a filling that needed to be replaced. I didn’t even know it was missing! My previous dentist, a con man, does not even compare.
All dentists will recommend you a prescription for Periodent mouthwash for healthy gums, but she’s the first one who told me it stains your teeth. I said, now why would ANYBODY want to give me something like that? Her answer, because it’s good for your gums. Then she whips out this magical bottle of Natural Herbal Mouthwash. My previous dentist never offered it to me, but worse, charged me $ 75 for the Periodent. This herbal bottle was had for thirty bucks. Good deal, and concentrated. Works well in my portable waterpik. (The herbal wash sells online for $ 38).
Great find, and covered by my insurance. They take the CareCredit card, too.

Weird how polarizing these reviews are. I’m on the 5 star side. Nothing but love for this office!
I have been taking my whole family here for years. They work fast and have a great receptionist (Carmen) working there now. My 11 year old loves how calm they are. Top notch work if you ask me. My wife, who hates dentists, is also a huge fan (again as far as dentists go).
I have insurance, so from a «I have insurance» perspective I highly recommend this place.

I have to rate Dr. Matchett as the best dentist that I have ever visited and I have had lots of work done to my teeth over the years. Dr. Linda Matchett is kind, thorough, and fair. She listens when you speak. She answers questions thoroughly and gives you a fair estimate of the total cost of any procedures that you are considering getting done. There is literally no waiting for an appointment. She gets right to work when you arrive. Daniela, who works at the front desk, is a genuinely nice person. It is as good as an experience as one can have at the dentist.

Recently a friend posted to a group asking for a dentist rec, and I sent a glowing recommendation for Linda Matchett, DDS. He wrote me back, saying that I must really love my dentist, because he’d asked the same question a few years back, and I’d sent almost the exact same email!
It’s true, Linda Matchett, DDS is a great dentist. The office is very clean and bright, and everyone is always super nice and polite. More important, I feel very confident that I am getting excellent dental care. She was very patient when I went through some years when I couldn’t come for a while due to unemployment, and then did a great job filling a bunch of cavities I had had to put off. They did a great job helping me schedule the work in a way that made sense and worked for me, too. I feel great now that my teeth are back on track.
I highly recommend my excellent dentist, Linda Matchett, DDS!

Let’s start by saying I never thought I’d review a dentist, because, really, who ever wants to go to the dentist? But this week I had tooth pain and had to go see Dr. Matchett, but I couldn’t remember her name or number so I Unilocaled, and my God I think those 1 star reviews are really unfair.
First off — so I went, thinking this is going to cost me 1,000 bucks, because I always assume the worst. No. Dr. Matchett did the Xrays and my annual cleaning (okay, it had been awhile) showed me my tooth pain came from a bunch of gunk under a bad filling leading to a small infection, cleaned it, put medicine on it, told me to come back in a week to get the new filling. I have no dental insurance — the entire process, Xrays, deep cleaning, medicine and new filling will cost me $ 300. Can you imagine any other doctor charging only $ 300 for over an hour of her time, and an hour of an assistant’s time, plus materials? Because I can’t.
Next — she does amazing work. I have had so many compliments on my smile since I went to her — which had never happened to me before. I even had someone ask me how long I had had braces as a child. I’ve never had braces. Now, I needed a lot of work done, and yes, no one wants to go in a bunch of times, but the finished product has been so worth it.
And speaking of work done — I don’t quite get how people think they are being insulted or taken advantage of. I was shown every Xray and picture of my teeth before any work got started, and they let me walk out the door after my first checkup to think about what I wanted done next. I never felt any pressure or insult, just a doctor trying to get the patient’s mouth back in order.
Finally — Ginger. God, I hated her too. Never told the dentist, but I could not stand that woman — she was cranky and rude. She’s also been gone for over a year. Now there’s this lovely girl named Daniella (Wince, okay I think that’s her name. Not positive.) But a huge improvement over the old office person.
So that’s my review — if you want someone who really knows what they’re doing, she’s a trustworthy dentist who does amazing work. IMHO.

Oh dear, if Ginger is still in the office watch everything carefully! She called my husband to remind him of an appointment and when he showed up asked him why he was there because he didn’t HAVE an appointment –turned out she had his name on someone elses chart. When that was straightened out he left and she called him on his cell asking where he was because he was supposed to be THERE! I called with a toothache and was asked if I could be there in half an hour. I was… and was charged an extra fee for an «emergency visit.» She told my husband that his co-​pay for a routine cleaning and one filling was over $ 200 — and after he paid it I discovered she never EVER filed an insurance claim. When I went in to straighten it out she said we never gave her any insurance information in spite of the fact that she had been billing Delta for the last two years — and he called me while he was at the counter and I heard him give her the updated insurance information! She told me my kid was covered and we wouldn’t owe anything and then asked me for over $ 100 bucks when I came to pick him up and said she NEVER told me we wouldn’t owe any more.
I like Dr. Matchett but her telling me I had a «tiny crack» that wasn’t urgent ended up costing me a root canal and a crown — from another dentist.
I left the practice because of Ginger, but a LOT of Dr. Matchett’s work is being re-​done. It wasn’t bad… it just wasn’t good.

Run away! Easily the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced at a dentist, and I pride myself on usually being able to put up with «diverse» personalities if the work is good enough.
This was not the case.
Dr. Matchett is easily one of the rudest doctors i’ve come across, with about as much likeability as a junkyard rottweiler – rude, blunt, sarcastic and arrogant, after my second visit I knew I was in trouble and in need of change. The final straw came on my third visit in the form of a simple misunderstanding about my paperwork that quickly deteriorated into a VERY uncomfortable «grilling» by Matchett, her daughter and Ginger the receptionist, all the while I’m in the chair waiting for my novocain to kick in and i can’t believe i’m being reprimanded like this by the whole staff in front of other patients – if i hadn’t been in the middle of getting dental work done, i would’ve walked right out the damn door.
I did the next best thing – i never went back.
Do yourself a favor – never go there.

I give her ZERO Stars but Unilocal forced me to choose one… I have never written a review but I HAD to here. UNPROFESSIONAL is an understatement. She is a horrible dentist and an even worse person. More of a used car sales-​woman than a dentist. I will NEVER go back and I regret ever going. She actually called me CHEAP and chastised me for not being able to choose the more expensive option. I found out she ruined my teeth after going to another dentist. DO NOT GO HERE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE. Your better off trying to fill your own teeth.

I took my 74 yr old very, very frail mother to Dr. Matchett. She hadn’t been to a good dentist in years, so there was lots of fillings missing, a missing tooth, a bridge that had mostly rotted away… you get the idea. I found that Dr. Matchett explained everything very clearly to us. She went over the cost very carefully of the implant, fillings etc. as Mom has no insurance. She also referred us to a wonderful oral surgeon in Burbank, Dr. Waki whom I have also reviewed. My Mom had her her new tooth installed finally yesterday and she is very happy.
Daniella, the office manager really went far far beyond the call of duty, setting up the appointments with Mom’s assisted living center, and staying in touch with me (I live near SF about the progress). Daniella is a real charm, and I predict you will get great service from Dr. Matchett.

do not go here, this dentist is a ripoff, they will try to steal your money, don’t give you prices upfront. Dentist prevents you from getting a copy of your x-​ray to take to another dentist. Very greedy and snobby feel to the whole place. Will put you in a position where they up the charge on you after the work is done and will do everything they can to prevent you getting the work finished elsewhere — you have been warned

I love Linda Matchett AND her daughter Sylvia. I have had some horrible experiences with Dentists in the past and thanks to them I’m not scared to get any dental work done. They are always so kind and sweet. They are very professional and best of all if I so much as squint when they are working on me, Sylvia will always stop and ask if I have any pain? or if everything is okay? I’m very sad to see that anyone would write anything negative about them becuase they are the best. I continually refer everyone to them.
I have heard some of the loud and obnoxious patients that they’ve had to deal with and they have been very patient and very kind when anyone else would have snapped. All I have to say that if you had a bad experience here… perhaps the problem isn’t them. Catch my drift?

When I first moved to LA I had been going to the same dentist for 23 years, so I was quite surprised when I chose a random one in Beverly Hills and was scared by the experience. My next experience, however, was at Linda Matchett’s office, and I have been going here for the past 6 years now.
Upon my first visit, I felt very comfortable and listened to — something I believe is extremely important in a dentist. The office is always clean and the staff is friendly. There is a TV at every station which is great because it allows you to focus on something else while your teeth are being cleaned. (After all, you can’t talk to the dentist or hygienist when they are in your mouth!!!) Dr. Matchett goes above and beyond in explaining/​showing where you may have issues and what to do to prevent future problems.
I very strongly recommend Dr. Matchett. I already have to many of my friends. I hope to be able to continue to go to her office for a long time!

I have only been to see Linda and her daughter twice, but I feel that they are honest and really competent. They fully explained what was going on and discussed the cost with me before doing any work. Obviously, going to the dentist will never be a picnic, but this office is as good as it gets.

Okay… I rarely do this. I have been having such a bad experience with this dentist I need to complain to someone… (and guess where I will be finding a new one… thanks Unilocalers)…This site is great as it hopefully will keep service providers honest… and can be such a great resource to find what you need… ok blah blah blah… I’m tired. so I’ll keep it short and sweet…
I had a dream dentist… SO friendly SO honest… and then changed insurance… and due to costs. had to change dentists– so I would have less out of pocket in case something was needed… so I go with —Matchett — because they were so close to my home – BAD MOVE!!!
Linda’s daughter has the worst chairside manner of anyone I’ve ever met in a health-​services field… let alone being MY dentist… I’m an educated man of 39 … I work consistantly in film — some TV… have a nice smile — … and with every experience at this office for my cleanings you’d think I never knew what a toothbush or floss was… and I was told my teeth are riddled with cavaties… and if something is not done… it can get into the jaw and then they take that off… on and on… I felt like I was at an auto repair shop (before the Unilocal days I went to the shops everyone else has… they bring out the filter and say. wow… we got problems with your engine…) Dentist carve your teeth-​then say. you notice the bleeding here… ah yeah. you stabbed and carved my gums !!!
I mean — in the world of the internet… you’d think dentisty by fear was gone. NOPE– here in Burbank in this office… Discoloration of any kind is NOT always decay– or a root canal opportunity… folks. read up a bit on teeth… get a TRUSTWORTHTY dentist… This office COLD CALLED me for services… changed prices –added more teeth … I mean you would think I drank Mountain Dew ²⁴⁄₇ if you heard their tone… they are NOT friendly… wanted me to sign something that said I «refused» this list of services… did that on all occassions when I said I would like to wait– or see if the condition of something changed or worsened or like to get another opinion… Mom Matchett also old school fear. better chairside manner… assistant during the cleaning rough like a an interrogation technique in a third world country…
…Would only take cash for my $ 5 co-​pay for my cleaning (first time for that today) as it costs them too much to charge it. they said??? (I charge everything for ease of my expenses for my accountant… must be hard times there… no wonder the new policy… I gave her my five. .no receipt. no thank you… just pathetic …
The location is budget, the office is budget– and guess what you get. budget services. budget treatment… but for astronomical prices if you don’t have insurance… fortunately I was not suckered in… just did the cleanings here… but I am OUTEEE…
So what– they have TVs… everyone does–
Okay so it took me four visits to learn my lesson– DO NOT make the same mistake –there are plenty of honest dentists out there –will not make you dread going there… make you feel welcomed … make you feel you are going to be taken care of… will give you options… and not put the fear of being called gummy if you don’t get all this work done immediately — –
… in search of the perfect dentist now…

Usually I do not look forward going to the dentist, but I found a great one in Burbank. Linda Matchett, DDS is great and has a nice clean office. Not to mention before she does any work, she makes sure you know the price. She explains any dental problem in full and shows you the area that needs to be fixed. All her dental chairs have televisions for you to watch, to take you mind off any drilling. Her daughter is a dentist as well and actually massaged my jaw after she gave me a shot to numb the area before filling a cavity. I highly recommend Burbank Blvd. Dental Care.
