Joyce’s Salon of Fine Grooming

Paulina at Joyce’s Salon of Fine Grooming is hands down the best groomer my pups have ever had! She has the grooming skills of a fine artist and is compassionate and truly «speaks» dog. She gets them, and they understand that they are in good hands while they are with her. They always leave happy and content after a Paulina Grooming. I think it is impressive that Paulina has taken the initiative to study animal behavior and training to further her grooming skills and career! Exactly what I look for in someone I am trusting with my «children» I would follow her anywhere.

This is my second time taking my puppy there … I love how they treat them n they always do a perfect job

Paulina came to this shop from Bath & Biscuit in Montrose and I too followed her. She is a dog whisperer and I trust her not only with my Standard Poodle puppy Phineas, but my 15 year old Standard Poodle Lily. She also did amazing work with my BFFs special needs Havanese.

Paulina is a new addition to this dog grooming business. I have followed her from her last shop and now she is back in Burbank. I am only reviewing her, not Joyce or her business.
Paulina is caring and kind and good at what she does. She grooms older animals and rescues. She is a find!
(As for Joyce, I don’t know her. I am only there for Paulina, and she has groomed my rescue dogs for years now.)

I don’t often review places… Unless they are horrible or exceptionally good. I genuinely love this place! When I say «Joyce» to my dog, he gets his leash and runs to the door. I’ve been going to Joyce for years now after trying 3 horrible places. Got referred from my neighbour, also a Joyce’s customer for years. Every time I’m certain my dog will get the best care in Burbank with Joyce and Patty grooming him. I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

Joyce transformed my little dog. She felt my dog’s bone structure, pulled back her whiskers, looked deeply into her eyes and announced «I think you’re a poodle,». I gave the go-​ahead and voila! a new look. She’s adorable.

at the beginning was ok, but my dog always was afraid to stay. We thought because he is afraid of everything. after read the reviews I have a different pint of view.
My dog stay for 3 hrs and almost always she put my two dogs, a cocker and a terrier in the same plastic box, why she didn’t have some mercy and put them in the big cage. It was hot ! The last time she called me and she told me she is living and my dogs are ready and also she said she forgot to call me. they were ready may be for 50 minutes, they were the last dogs. She forgot them! and she blamed the lady that work there, she said «she didn’t give me the card» that was my last time there! I’m sorry for not pay more attention that it wasn’t only that my dog is afraid to be without us, there was more there. I would not recommend her !

Took my dog here. Right when I left my dog with Joyce she started judging her as if she was to be thrown into a competition (my dog is a lap dog for crying out loud). She made me feel uncomfortable. When the lady called to let me know my dog was ready for pick up she also called to tell me more judgmental comments. I didn’t take my dog to this salon to be told what to do with her, I took her here to be groomed. Poor customer service, won’t be going back.

I have been taking my dog Jake to Joyce for years, as I did with my other 3 dogs. We have a 20 plus. Year relationship. I have always been VERY satisfied with everyone at the salon. In the past Joyce has even been so kind to take my dog home and put him securely away in my backyard! Where do you get such great customer services that ?? She has a vast knowledge grooming and pet care in general. I find it hard to believe that anyone has ever had a problem at Joyce’s Salon!!!
I will continue to recommend her to friends and family. Just last week I spoke at great length with my friend Donna who just started with a new dog and needed a place to take it. Keep up the good work Joyce may you be there for me and my dogs forever !!

Joyce is a very nice lady and her groomers are the best. Joyce will never let a pet leave her salon unless it looks perfect. She is caring and gentle with all her pet friends. If you want a really good grooming for your babies she will get the job done. I’m so surprised by these other nasty remark’s. My family has been going to her place for years no problems just prefect looking grooming.

I’ve taken my pet to this place for a few years now. Not because it was the place of my choice, but my husband’s instead.
When i decided to take in my neighbor’s dog and mine, I got to witness the way she mistreats smaller dogs.
she literally dumps them into a cage, where they first hit the wall then try to fall back in place.
I asked why she wasn’t cautious with my neighbor’s dog. she replied, «i’ve groomed margaret (French Poodle) for years.»
that didn’t answer my question.
then I respond, «exactly! she is 15 years old and shouldn’t be going through such abuse.»
I grabbed the dogs with me and decided to never come back.
just yesterday, I found out my husband took Jake (Lab/​Pitbull) in for an appointment at Joyce’s. I was infuriated.
After walking into her «Salon», I heard her screaming at my dog because he wouldn’t stand up. and that’s when i realize Jake wasn’t feeling well.
Whether it was her HORRIBLE way of treating pets or my dog ate a bad burrito, although I only feed him dog food, I am going to try my hardest to STOP this ANIMAL CRUELTY place disguised as a Salon.
Please don’t torture your animals anymore by taking them to this massacre chamber.

I brought my puppy to Joyce’s twice. They did a beautiful job. However, the second time they left my puppy in the kennel for 3 hours… I then found out they took their «usual» customers’ pets before mine. So I will no longer take my little guy to Joyce’s. if you’re a usual (10+years) then sure, you’ll get top notch service.

I thought I would take a minute to write a review because there isn’t anything recent about this place. I’ll say it, I like it here. No frills, just your basic groomer who has been around town forever. I am here to get my dog cleaned so he doesn’t stink up the house and don’t need to feel like I’m at the Ritz. Joyce’s is simple and reasonably priced. No gimmicks, no high end OMG-you-have-to-have-this-amazing-waste-of-money-product-or-you’re-a-failure-of-a-pet-owner product. I have a basset so he doesn’t need trimming and such, just a bath and his nails trimmed. I rescued my basset less than a year ago and when I got him, he REFUSED to let anyone touch his paws. He’d nip and growl and would have nothing to do with it. Joyce’s has taken the time to make him feel comfortable and safe, and he’s improving leaps and bounds! I bring him in once or twice a month and have no complaints.

I took the time just now to register to Unilocal so that I could respond to Robyn’s review of Joyce’s Dog Grooming. Took me a lot of time and I’ve never written a review, but this will be worth it.
I did not want to believe what was written in Robyn’s review. Who wants to believe that they could be leaving their much loved pet with a groomer who may be hurting your dog when you are not there. Well guess what, this groomer hurt my dog (not once but twice) right in front of me.
When I walked in, Joyce was her normal self, talking on the phone and making me feel guilty for having interrupted her. She was not balancing her checkbook this time; I experienced that the first time I visted.
So, I was getting ready to pay and popped my head over to see my dog who was sitting nicely while his nails were being clipped and he saw me. So did the groomer. But Austin stood up and tried to come see me and that was when the groomer made him sit back down (which was fine) but then pulled his front paw off to the side, not once but twice and hard enough to make my dog whimper and look at her, like «what is the matter with you?». At that point, I asked the groomer to stop but she wouldn’t and did it again, right in front of me.
Neeless to say, quite a scene broke out, especially when I told Joyce that I was not comfortable paying her after witnessing this behavior from her groomer. At the mention of money, Joyce launced into an expletive-​filled tirade that even my husband heard from his car. She was not happy.
Neither was I.

Not the best groomer in Burbank– this I will stand by.
After 3 hours of groom time, I picked up my pooches. BOTH had bits of hair shedding from all over their bodies (I personally had to remedy this at home with the FURminator).
There was a piece of feces hanging off my youngest pooches back side. Shocked at the obvious lack of detail, and outraged that he was probably sitting w/​this on his bum for a deal of time.
If you know me, you know how much I love and spoil my pooches. This was completely unacceptable grooming.
I will not return, my doggies deserve better.

I had the hardest time picking a groomer when i moved out here. I will hardly let anyone touch MY hair, much less screw up my dog, poke him in the eyes or make him look like he has the damn mange ok.
So i was recommended here by my boyfriend and of course i was skeptical when i dropped the doggie off but i was just stunned at how good he looked when i picked him up 4 hours later. I have been getting him groomed since he was about 6 months old. I have even had a mobile groomer come to my house and this is probably the best he has ever looked. Not to mention it has already been a week and he still smells good and feels as soft as a baby blankie! I will definitely come back here. the prices are reasonable, the staff are friendly and when i went to pick him up — he didn’t look at me like OMG those people they just beat me, why did you do this to me! LET ME OUTTA HERE! lol
Our animals went up in there looking like they had been through a tornado. the dog had some mattes in his hair, and was shaved in three different spots for his shots and worm tests and the cat is a Persian with A LOT of hair and mattes. plus she has the cat scratch fever. so i couldnt believe how great they looked afterwards.

Best Groomer in Burbank? I have taken my cats to get groomed (lion cuts) because they are persian for many many years. I have gone to the large pet stores, and to many mom and pop places. I have had bad groomers that have cut my cat and caused injury, to great places that even put cute little bows in their hair and painted their nails. which I guess is cool, anything that makes my cats look silly is a plus. Joyce’s has been completely fine, and I have gone there about 5 times. I have never had any problems with her little place. The schedule has always been open enough unlike some places that I have to wait a month to get in. I have never thought anything negative about Joyce or her services.
When you involve pets with service you are going to get over sensitive people, and I think anyone that writes a negative review about Joyce is the same type of people that dress their animals in wedding dresses and have fake pet weddings with neighborhood animals. These people probably even have fake pet divorces just to get money from their neighbors in court.
If I had to say one negative thing about Joyce’s Salon is that they only take cash, and thats because it costs alot of money to have a credit card machine. which would make the price of the haircuts go up.
Bottom line, great cuts, great price, and Joyce is a nice lady. I would rather pay Joyce for a fine job, then some corporation. She knows my cat by name (Tang), see if Petco remembers my cat.
