G & R Auto Repair

I work nearby and if you’re familiar with the area, you know there are a few repair shops within a mile or two away from this hidden little repair shop. As a matter of fact there is one right next door to them, but a few of my coworkers have already gone to Tigran’s place and have been completely satisfied with the service and price they charged them from minor repair, routine maintenance service, to major work.
I initially told them I had rear suspension problems with my BMW 330ci. Tigran called me within 15 minutes and told me he didn’t see any problems, so I ran over and he showed me the good rear suspension and the work on the front suspension I had the dealer worked on previously. He concluded that it was the rear shocks that needed to be replaced from my further description of the problem.
A few more minutes have gone and he called me again, and told me that my oil was low, and he was correct. My oil signal had been going on and off lately but had been busy and lazy to go get an oil change, so I asked him if he could please add the oil change to my repair work.
I asked Tigran if he could also do an alignment for me, and he said he would. A few more minutes have gone and I got another call from him telling me I didn’t need an alignment! I know these are the things to expect from your mechanic, but these days, it’s rare to hear a mechanic test driving the car first to see if you really need the work before doing the actual work!
I received a final call from Tigran to tell me the total cost of parts and labor, and it wasn’t what I was expecting. You see I had researched the price of the OEM shocks he had told me he was gonna use. (Of course he said I could go with a less expensive alternative but he also said he wouldn’t recommend it and I agreed with him). For the price of two shocks online from a few online retailers of OEM parts, is the price I paid for all the work I described above!
This is a no frills shop you don’t see too often. You’re not paying for the large waiting room, free coffee, leather couch, free wifi or luxurious restrooms. They have an office large enough to perform transactions, which is all I have always needed and I realized as I received and paid my final invoice from Tigran.
Now, don’t take my word without trying out G&R for yourself first, but I can almost assure you, you will write the same review as the others and I have written here on Unilocal.This fine little hidden gem of a «Repair Shop» will be your go to repair shop as well.

I’m smart about a lot of things, but auto mechanics is not among them. So I spent a lot of years getting overcharged and downright ripped off by mechanics in Burbank.
Then I met an out-​of-​town mechanic who taught me a lot and pledged to help me find a fair priced and honest repair shop in my hometown.
Trust me when I say it took a lot of calls to find G & R, but the effort was worth it!
I was helped right away, treated with respect and the quote (less than half of what five other shops were charging) was honored.
If I ever need repair work done again, I’m heading straight to G & R.

We just happened upon this shop one day when my friend’s car started overheating on the freeway so we looked up the nearest Pepboys to take it in (next door). Her car didn’t make it and we got stuck in the alley behind the shops. Pepboys looked at it and said it was the radiator and that they could fix it for a lot (I forget how much), but that they were closing and couldn’t keep it there overnight and we would have to tow it out and bring it back next day ($$$). While we were stuck there Robert happened to pass by after closing the shop and stopped to check on us and said he could make room in the shop and we could keep it there overnight and have it fixed next day, for a better price.
Literally a Godsend!!!
We have been going to this shop ever since, and recommending everyone there too. They do great work at great prices, and Robert really cares about his customers. He has been such an angel so many times now, its nice having a shop you can trust for quality work and pricing. :)

This place was awesome! !! Rob was amazing. Very professional and informative. Went straight to work on my car no long line or wait. in and out within 30mins. Comfortable environment. Good deals. Honest hard working people that know what they are doing!

Being a woman and having zero knowledge about cars, a friend recommended me to this shop. G & R is a great location with excellent customer service, more than excellent body work and genuine service ! Rob is a great guy and is very accommodating to your time. I needed to get a large dent fixed on my brand new Mercedes and not only did Rob and his team fix the dent perfectly, but my car came out looking newer than it went in !

After calling around I got 3 appointments from different shops and received quotes. Since I had a brand new Lexus hey had to use all original parts were taking serious money so I was very happy when I came to GR auto group inc. Not only did I buy my car from them they also fixed my accident for me. They ordered me a rental car in no time. In times like this you can’t afford to complicate matters more that’s why I’m so thankful for Robert and his team. Thanks again guys. I will send you my friends and family.

My Mom started going to this shop 8 years ago when I think it was opened by Tom. She happened to be driving by when her car made a strange sound. Tom welcomed her and helped her out. He has always been so courteous, honest, fair-​priced and knowledgeable about the problems with her aging car.
Since Tom’s retirement, my Mom continued her loyalty to this shop which was taken over by Rob, Tom’s son. Rob is just as courteous, trustworthy, knowledgeable, fair and friendly as his father!
When I got my first car, I only went to GR Automotive, and I’ve been going to this shop for over 5 years. I’ve referred all of my friends who agree that there is no better place to get your car serviced at a fair price with stellar quality.

I’m giving G&R 5 stars because they really helped get my car back to looking brand new, I got rear ended and was recommended to come here by a friend. The work they did on my car was above and beyond what I expected. Super helpful and friendly.

The shop was great and able to get my car in and out in a day. The prices are reasonable and they will explain all the necessary repairs and costs so there are no surprises. I appreciated the fast service, great communication. Thanks Rob!

I am going with 5 stars, why? because I have had all good experiences with this shop.
As a woman I’ve been to shops who take advantage because they think I don’t know anything. However I do know about cars I’ve learned over many years. Most of my repairs have been obvious fixes, broken motor mounts and a rack and pinion rebuild.
Soon well see how their diagnostic skills sum up, more to follow.

I made a Unilocal account just so I could tell the world about this place. If your having car trouble come here first! Robert is nice and very helpful and called frequently to keep me updated. My alternator needed to be replaced and they did it quickly and at a cheap price. Don’t think think twice, just go.

This was the best auto repair experience I’ve had. They were so helpful and I didn’t feel like they were trying to take advantage of me, squeezed me in last minute and fixed my window motor in under an hour. They gave me a great rate and really a wonderful customer service experience. I definitely support their business and am going to be taking my car there for any of my needs.

I was referred here by a friend and I couldn’t be happier. The staff are helpful and friendly the minute you walk into the shop. One thing that made me love this place is that they didn’t try to fool me or lie about things that need work and charge me like crazy just because I am a female and clueless about cars. Thanks for all your hard work :)

If I could give this place a «0» score I would. Beware of this place. From the very beginning I had a negative feel about this place and my feelings were correct. They not only didn’t fix the problem, they made it worse and then wanted to charge me again for what they didn’t fix. Then I noticed that they used parts from other cars, whether it fit or not. Some parts were even stolen, and this is why the CHP and the DOT are investigating this shop. When I realized the problems that the car had, they shouted obsenities at me and told me to go to «h_​_​l» and refused to fix them forcing me to pay another shop to fix their mistakes. I am in the process of suing this shop for their fraudulent business practices. I will never give this business anymore of my money. If getting the job done correctly, and honestly, then don’t take your business here. They are the worst mechanics and body shop around that is why there are so many complaints against them. Stay away.

G&R Auto was recommended to me by Autozone over 2 years ago. They are the only mechanic I take my car to because Zeke can repair parts if they can no longer be purchased and they keep my older car running. Tigran the owner is extremely knowledgeable and great at diagnostics. I highly recommend them if you want your car fixed right. I have never had to go back because they messed with something or have never had them try to rip me off in any way.

The owner/​mechanic, Tigran, is very sweet, but, unfortunately doesn’t diagnose car problems very well. This is really important to be able to do, because, otherwise he’s «chasing car parts» and never really getting to the root of the problem.
I’ve spent over $ 1,500.00 with him trying to get to the bottom of my car’s problem, and I can’t afford to spend anymore. I’ve taken my business elsewhere.
If he knows exactly what is wrong, or if it’s an easy fix, like needing a timing belt replaced or new tires, he does a great job and at an affordable price, which is why I gave him two stars. But if it’s something harder to figure out, that’s definitely his weak point.
My advice to you, is if you have a problem with your car that doesn’t seem completely obvious as to what it is, take your car somewhere else.

Friday morning woke up to a massive leak under my car and was in search for a shop which could solve the problem with just one visit. So I called my car enthusiast friend and he referred me to g and r. I went in after I called and was told to come in whenever I wanted to. I was in and out in no time and everything was awesome. I am so glad to have found a mechanic that it trustworthy and really knows how to take care of my car.
