Core Conditioning

THIS COMPANY IS THE WORST! NEVER USE THEIR SERVICES!!! Due to shoddy bookkeeping, they forgot to put through the charges for several series of classes even though I did everything I was supposed to and signed the credit charge slips authorizing the payments. Then, THREE YEARS LATER and totally unbeknownst to me, they tried to illegally recover the money by extorting me with a mafia-​like debt collector who called me at work and cursed and screamed at me. Even when I asked Core to work with me on payments (due to subsequent huge medical bills), they ignored my request although I was a loyal customer who had always paid her bills on time for 8 years! Now they are completely ruining my credit, all for a lousy $ 500 charge. SHAME ON YOU!!! This is bordering on criminal activity and absolutely appalling. I wish I had never laid eyes on this company, so don’t use them unless you don’t care at all about your credit score.

I’d tried a few classes at other Pilates Studios and was disappointed at the regimented, almost robotic-​like disinterested teachers and drab décor. I found Core Conditioning Pilates in Burbank via PT at Core in Studio City. Gab, the owner, suggested I try some classes to strengthen my core and aid with alignment. I am loving my classes with Shaunna. She is very knowledgeable, compassionate, funny, and creative with changing up the postures each session. The studio has a clean and serene vibe. They have cool modern chandeliers when you walk in, moss green walls, mirrors to check your posture, sectioned off rooms so that more than one teacher can hold a class and two bathrooms. I totally recommend this studio to those of all levels.

I have been a client of core for 6 years for Pilates and periodically physical therapy. They are an excellent team of professionals who exceed all expectations. I highly recommend them for physical therapy and Pilates.

I recently visited Core Conditioning in Burbank and I was immediately impressed with both their facilities and friendly staff. They were having a special for a Monday afternoon Reformer Pilates class so I decided to try taking this type of class for the first time. My instructor was Toni Fuller, and she was just wonderful! Knowing that it was my first Pilates class she patiently guided me through the exercises and made using the reformer very comfortable while giving me a great workout. Overall, Toni was an extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and encouraging instructor, if you are planning taking Pilates class at Core, I highly recommend Toni as an instructor. I will definitely be back for more classes.

This place has saved my life. Kaiser wanted to do surgery on me and I had to go out of their realm. I ended up with a very well known Olympic Sports Med place and even they couldn’t figure out why my pain would not resolve. I did the usual PT and a place they recommended and was referred to Core Cond. Stephanie was my therapist and within 2 sessions of visceral manipulation I had more range of motion than in I don’t know how long. I was back to Pilates. Since then I’ve continued w/​my terrific trainer, Eileen, and get amazing visceral work from Jackie when I do something dumb to flare myself up. I literally put my body in their hands and they always bring me back. I love this place and their therapists!!!

Shaunna is a pilates goddess. I moved here from Canada and was looking for a new pilates studio. I’m 30, but hate the pretentious clubs and want to actually practice pilates using proper methodology so I don’t injure myself. I’ve tried various studios around town which make you feel frustrated for not being able to keep up with their ridiculous workouts which lead to strain and injuries because they don’t teach you the foundations or how to adjust the workout for your level. If this is you, try Shaunna.
There are only 4 or 5 reformers so it’s a small class that’s tailored to you. She delicately corrects you and pushes you to what she thinks you can take, not the class as a whole. She has a background physical therapy and teaches you to relax and breath. The workout can almost become meditational even though you’re sweating like crazy. After 1 month of working out 2 times a week with her, I went home to see my family who couldn’t get over how toned and in shape I looked. I actually felt an inch taller too. It’s worth a shot. Just save me a spot in her classes please!

Excellent physical therapy and Pilates studio. I had been going to Imperial through a doctor referral, BIG mistake. I went for 6 weeks with little to no improvement. I asked my doctor for another referral and he referred me to Core Conditioning in Burbank. Boy what a difference! My therapist Leigh, got my mobility back, my range of motion is much better and now I’m doing much better. She gave me exercises to do at home so I didn’t have to keep coming back. I would highly recommend!

Leigh was the best PT I’ve had yet. She swiftly fixed my knee problems and did it with a smile and professionalism. I highly recommend her for pretty much anything.

I developed a lower back condition called hyper lordosis. Which went undiagnosed for about 8 months, both by the Orthopedic Surgeon and the Therapists at imperial PT in burbank. Therapists at imperial also told me that i should probably never run again to avoid further damage to the disk. Imagining never being able to play any sports or workout the way i want to, sent me into depression for a couple of months.
One fine day i decided enough was enough and asked the doctor to send me to another PT. Discovering Core Conditioning was a blessing. Leffel studied my posture and symptoms, and diagnosed the hyper lordosis and the pelvic tilt in minutes. Fast forward 3 months, working on red chord has sent my core strength higher than it has ever been, and as a result the hyper lordosis is almost all gone. The pelvic tilt also disappeared completely with the dynamic stretches they showed me.
I am back to working out in the gym (albeit following all the cautionary stretches, form), and running. :)
It really felt like the advice i was getting at CC from the PTs, came from years of careful study and practical implementation and never bloated ego.
So glad i found this place, they gave my active life back to me.

I highly recommended Core Conditioning. Everyone is nice and friendly. My PT is Liegh, who recently was voted the best PT in Burbank. She is very knowledgeable and caring. I have been under her care for about 4 months, and I always had a good experience with her. She is also very professional and personable which makes the appointments more pleasant.
I am sure the other PT’s are as good.
I would not hesitate to recommend them to my family and friends.

I’ve been really hard on my body — not intentionally, just as a result of being active my whole life as a dancer-​mover-​overindulger of the physical experiences… not to mention a few car accidents. That to say I’ve been in and out of Physical Therapists, Chiropractors, Accupunture treatements my whole life, and I know a good PT place when I see one. This, my friends, is one of the best.
I came on a referral from a coworker suffering from frozen shoulder. My friend literally could not move her shoulder, was in a lot of pain and going downhill fast. The physical therapists not only worked her back into shape, but it seemed like she healed in record time. Thus when my latest injury came a calling, I moved quickly to get a referral to Core Conditioning.
They have access to all of the usual fare of massage, ice/​heat and electro therapies; they deploy pilates based correction and exercises; but THEN I was really impressed with something revolutionary — Redcord technology. If you haven’t tried this, you need to… I think it’s the missing link to rehabilitation that I haven’t seen anywhere else (see

Tomorrow is my fourth appointment and I’m already significantly improved. I highly recommend one of the owners, Allyson (Ally) and her wonderful facility Core Conditioning. OH and nearly forgot to mention… they do offer a variety of classes in Pilates and Gyrotonic exercises so that you can maintain or get in shape before something happens to you (!)

Leigh is a caring, excellent therapist. She knows her stuff, and helped me get in condition for my vacation in Europe. They are in-​network for United HealthCare, if that matters to you. It did to me.

After one visit just one visit there it was very clear that it was a big mistake and coming back is out of the question:
1. The PT (Physical Therapist) was not knowledgeable about a proper exercise form and doctor’s diagnosis and instead of helping actually made pain worse. It took a few weeks to get back to before «treatment» lower pain level.
2. Though this business was an in-​network provider, they collected a higher payment up-​front rather than what our insurance would authorize.
3. It was impossible to get an overpayment back from this «establishment» without the help of the insurance company. First, they refused to admit to overpayment even though the processed claim stated a lower amount. They said that they do not care what their contract agreement states and insurance company says. I was told eventually that I have to call their accountant, then their accountant was «in a meeting», then the accountant refused to talk to me and hung up on me… you got the picture. I had to call my insurance company and ask them to help me to get a refund for the amount of the overpayment.
The insurance company stated that since this business is in-​network than by a contract agreement they should not collect a payment that is higher than their contract allows.
The insurance company was surprised how poorly I was treated by this business and that I had to get their help in getting a refund.
To sum it up:
poor PT treatment from lack of knowledge, dishonest with payments, rude and unprofessional with patients. Should I say more?

I was referred here for Physical Therapy due to knee injury and pain. I’ve had two different PTs and both are great!
When I had my first knee injury I had Kaiser and though I liked my PT, I don’t think I grasped the severity of my injury. Today, I am still afflicted by my previous injury (6 years ago) and the adjustments my body has made to compensate.
What I like about Core Conditioning is that they look at your injury through assessing your entire body (system). Who knew my knee injury would create weak muscle groups in other (related) areas??? Well, they did! The program they have created for me has focused on a range of exercises that I can do at home, combined with more intense clinic work and massage.
Other pros:

They also offer a range of classes, such as pilates (mat & reformer), that I may look into after my PT sessions have concluded.

Had my first of many appts here today, and I was immediately impressed by the professionalism and approachability of the staff members I encountered. My PT is well informed, thorough, excels at providing explanations, and has a good bedside manner. Decent website, good décor, clean facilities.
We’ll have to wait another month before I rate an extra star…
UPDATE: Best physical therapy service I have experienced.

I’m currently receiving PT at Core for some long-​term back injuries and boy are they great. Attentive, thorough and a pleasant environment. The fact that Stefani and Valerie spend careful time mixing regular physical therapy with cranio-​sacral therapy shows a holistic attitude towards rehabilitation. The only bummer: no way will I be able to afford it when my insurance runs out!
Update: I also want to point out how on-​the-​ball they are with appointments, how friendly the staff is up at the front desk and how cuh-​RAZY awesome Adrian is too — I’ve never had a better stretch buddy!

I absolutely love this place! I take private lessons from Elizabeth and I adore her! They all take their jobs very seriously and it’s obvious they have had extensive training. I also see Stefani for PT and she is amazing! Her Craniosacral treatment is a miracle. I don’t know how she does it, but I walk out of there feeling so much better. I’m so happy I stumbled upon this place a year ago. I have had back problems from birth and I trust these people and know they truly understand their profession.

Whether it is starting my morning or ending my day, the classes here are great and energizing. They have great teachers — I take both Kelly and Chuck’s reformer classes and I feel my week is empty if I miss one. If you are looking to start a pilates routinue, look no further. They work with you, no matter your level, and the place is very comfortable.
