Charles Crenshaw Pianos

This is review is sooooo long overdue! Where to start??! After reading the amazing reviews on Unilocal,I decided to check this store out. Do take note that I have NEVER stepped inside a Piano store or warehouse before. I was always afraid I’d be turned down for not being able to afford expensive pianos. Boy, was I wrong to feel that way! The moment I walked in Charles Crenshaw Piano, I felt so welcomed! Dean and Ethan, man oh man, they really know their stuff, and they were so kind and patient to explain everything to me – their rental policy, rent-​to-​own, delivery fees, etc. I visited the store a couple of times (starting at the beginning of the year), in order to make up my mind about what piano I wanted to rent. I ended up choosing a beautiful, Kohler & Campbell upright. I ended up renting the piano for 6 months, and at the end of that rental term, I decided to come back to the store and check out their inventory… but this time I came back to purchase a piano… But a different one! That’s RIGHT! You can totally rent one piano, and send it back in case you fall in love with another piano in their showroom. Just like I did lol! Before I ever walked inside this store, I always thought it was impossible to rent a beautiful, KAWAI like the one sitting in my living room right now. Even my piano technician was WOWED by the condition of the piano. He said I really scored an awesome piano that will last me 30, 40 years! Anyway, I can go on and on about this wonderful store. Thanks again Ethan and Dean for making everything possible for me to own a piano I always dreamed about.

The BEST place in LA (not just SFV) to rent or buy a piano and get teacher referrals. No high pressure sales, just a nice man who loves what he does and a beautiful affordable piano for my boy. Now 5 years later, my son is still loving the piano… we stop by every now and then to give Dean a mini-​concert and he is always so happy to see us. Now, he has the talented and friendly Ethan on board. Great business, great people, great pianos.

This is a long overdue review for Charles Crenshaw Pianos. Last December, I received a personal call from Dean to inform me that my electric keyboard piano was officially fully paid for. Now that is class and personal service at it’s best. The atmosphere of this family owned business is calm and unhurried, and you get the best professional knowledge sans any «hovering» to see if you are going to buy or not. I started out by renting and decided to make a full purchase. The terms were created with consideration of my budgetary needs. Both Dean and Ethan are wonderful to deal with, and my experience was one of where the customer truly comes first. Don’t hesitate to just drop in. That’s what I did, and that is how this 5 star review ended up on Unilocal

Dean Crenshaw is the best source for high quality pianos at an affordable price. Dealing with him will transport back into time, when a simple handshake was the most solemn of all contracts. I’ve known him for over 10 years, and even had the honor of meeting his father, back in 2005, the historical Charles Crenshaw, (fun fact: Crenshaw Blvd in Los Angeles is named after him!)
So if you are looking for a high end piano and don’t want to spend a fortune, and make a new great friend in the process, Dean is your man.

This store is first rate! The concert grand we rented could not have had a sweeter, cleaner, brighter sound! The best ever! The staff was extremely helpful and went out of their way to make our experience with the store first rate. Dean, the owner is just a totally upstanding, decent, genuine individual. This piano store was amazing to me and my crew. I was in need of a location to film a scene for a music video and they were very helpful. They let me setup lights and film for a couple hours. It was a very pleasant experience. If you’re a film student in need of a piano please contact this place!

My husband and I stopped in just to take a look around and were extremely impressed by the quality pianos, prices, and customer service! Dean (the owner) and Ethan are a rare find — so genuine and straightforward they earn your respect immediately. There were a number of beautiful grand pianos on hand that I was salivating over :) So glad we dropped in here and found these amazing guys!

Piano’s for $ 25+ per month? Oh, I walked in. The head honcho immediate approached me and welcomed me into this piano wonderland. He knew everything about all of the keys, how much they were and the price of moving them.
The initial payment is the only pricey part but for a really nice piano… It ain’t nothin’ but a thang! I cooks a few beautiful uprights for around $ 40 per month. The even offer to have these monthly payments contribute to the actual price of the piano if you want to buy it. No way! That is just about the best kind of deal for an expensive product I’ve ever heard of! No interest!
After getting educated about how everything worked, the man gave me a million dollar bill and his card to send me on my way. A catchy and impactful thing to do in a walk-​in of you ask me. Just a subtle marketing tactic like that forces the customer to remember the even. Double thumbs up!

By far the best place to rent or buy a piano in LA. Dean and Ethan are absolute gentlemen who provide excellent customer care and advice. I rented a piano from Crenshaw Pianos last October and these guys know their stuff. As a piano teacher I have recommended this establishment to all of my students who have enquired about where to buy a piano and they too have been extremely satisfied customers. The instruments here are of the highest quality and I thoroughly recommend this place to anyone.

Excellent customer service. We went in to rent a piano, and Dean was very helpful and honest in their rental procedures. We wanted to rent then buy a piano and they make it very easy to make payments, and if it was something my daughter wouldn’t stick with I had the ability to return after my rental period. That was great piece of mind for us! I will definitely recommend! I appreciate their honesty and genuine customer service.

This place is the best. I rented a piano for my daughter on a monthly basis and after six months, based on her interest level, I decided to purchase the piano.
Dean Crenshaw initially structured the monthly payments so that the first 6 months would go toward the purchase if I decided to buy it. Super helpful and a great slow way to make the decision.
Once I decided to make the purchase, dean allowed me to continue making slightly higher monthly payments in order to pay for the rest of the piano.
All in all it was a no hassle, no pressure great experience.

Crenshaw pianos is the best place to rent or purchase a piano in LA!!! Everyone working at Crenshaw Pianos is professional and friendly!!! All the pianos are great quality and you can take your time choosing the one you like without any pressure!!! I am a piano teacher and just bought a Hartman, which I love!!! I recommend this store all my students and friends!

The owner of this place is one of the nicest men I’ve ever met! He was laid back, no pressure, told me to take my time and then left me alone to try out all the pianos. You can rent-​to-​own, or just rent, or purchase. When I came back with my husband and two small boys, he even gave them toys to play with. He seems like a fair and honest man. I’m taking my time to shop around, since this was only the second place I went to, but I would recommend this place for sure!

Living in the Antelope Valley, I was worried that I would not be able to find a beautiful piano to suit our needs. We contacted Crenshaw pianos and found our dream piano. We now have a beautiful white, Samick baby grand! It’s high gloss finish absolutely highlights our living room and it’s such an eye catcher to anyone that visits our home. My daughters are under 2 but they already LOVE playing it. Mr Crenshaw, the owner, is by far the sweetest man and really worked hard to make it possible. The piano movers were professional, respectful, and right on time. I will recommend him to all my friends.

Crenshaw Pianos is the best place to get a piano! There are pianos and plans to meet everyone’s needs; they even rent them. After visiting many stores, I decided to take my daughter to Crenshaw Pianos and take a look. She fell in love with a Shafer & Sons piano. Not knowing how committed she would continue to be, we decided to rent it for a couple of months. It was nice to know that those payments would count toward the purchase, if we decided to buy– which we did.
Mr. Crenshaw was extremely helpful and kind. In a couple of years we will definitely be ready to return to Crenshaw Pianos for an upgrade. If you are in the market for a piano there is no other place to go but Crenshaw… you won’t be disappointed!
