My family and I have been going to the Continental Restaurant for some time now. We are a family of 5 and there’s always something good for everyone on the menu it is rather extensive. The owner Peter is a wonderful man with a wonderful family and runs a restaurant the way it should be. He caters to the customers like their old friends. I highly recommend the Grecian chicken, outstanding.

This is another garden variety breakfast joint run by Italians or Greeks most likely Greeks. Not that t matters. Just a trend that I have noticed. The hostess was very nice, polite, and quick to seat: the service as a whole was good. Nothing that blew me off my seat as being fantastic just good service. I got the Protein Platter. 4 egg whites with tomatoes, and a huge slab of turkey sausage. I’d given this place a 4 star but the turkey sausage, while a huge portion, was pretty tasteless. I put it down to fill me up otherwise I would had not eaten it. The service was quick and getting the check was pretty seamless. I’ll come back but it is not a place I think i’ll think of first.

The prices are too high, food is OK. Used to like their soups but NO Chicken in the Chicken soup, NO ham or vegetables in the SPLITPEA soup. The CUT Backs at this restaurant makes me think twice about going back.

Its a good place to eat. Me and my wife are ordering from them«to go» on a regular basis, sometimes we are going there for a dinner, because we live literally 2 min by walk from there. I can’t say that food is extremely good, but its pretty fine and worth the money. I would be honest with you, don’t expect something exceptional for the money, just relax and have a good time and you will not be disappointed. I like the staff over there, everybody knows us and everyone always friendly with us. Waiters are fine, mostly there serve pretty fast, sometimes slower, but overall is good. The owner and the manager are the really nice guys. This place is mostly for elderly people, I don’t know why, but sometimes we are the only one over who less than 50 years old(we are 30 bty) :)

Typical diner place. I went for lunch with my fiancée. He ordered the corned beef hash skillet with pancakes. I must say the portion is huge! He only ate about 1⁄3 of it and that skillet was heavy. The hash browns were nice and crispy. Pancakes were average. I got the grilled cheese with bacon and a bowl of cream of spinach soup. The soup was lumpy and kind of bland. The grilled cheese was basic and tasted fine. It came with seasoned waffle fries. Service was good and the price was decent. Overall average typical diner food.

Pete, the owner, is AMAZING. We had the luncheon after our Grandmother’s funeral here.(This was her favorite restaurant). We had our own private room. We had 2 vegetarians in the group(I was one of them). Pete went out of the way to make us veggie soup. Then he made pasta for my niece and made me a HUGE plate of veggies. The rest of the food was served buffet style. They also had a large sweet table at end. We had open bar. Which he capped our price at $ 150. The cost per person for food was $ 22.(We had 40 people) We had 2 servers who did a great job getting drinks and clearing tables. At the end when we went to pay, we went to ask about tips, Pete actually made us LOWER the tip amount we wanted to give. What owner does that? He said 10% was plenty. He did not rush anyone out and kept the bar open after we left for the people who were still there. At the end they had to go boxes, so we could take dessert and other food home. It could not have been a more pleasant experience, for such an occasion that was a sad one. We want to go eat there JUST so we can visit Pete again!

The service at this restaurant is great. Everyone is really helpful and very friendly. So I feel really bad for giving it only 2 stars but the food is not good. I ordered the corned beef hash skillet with pancakes. The skillet was okay but had a lot more hash browns than corned beef and the pancakes didn’t have any taste. I went with two friends who also said their fried chicken and burger were bland. The atmosphere is really nice and friendly so if you are just looking to relax and chat with a cup of coffee(but no food!) I would suggest this place for you.

We love continental restaurant. The menu is huge, it is family friendly, the staff are great, the food yummy and Pete the owner a great guy. We go there at least once a week and enjoy!

Only gave one star because we did stay and eat but the service was poor, food was overpriced and coffee tasted like as station coffee. I will not be detailed because I am not wasting the time!

I used to come here often but no more. The food is horrible. The service is terrible. This used to be the best restaurant in town but has steadily declined.

We just walked out of this place, a bunch of dirty tables, one waitress standing in back looking at us, no body to seat us, guess nobody really cares here today. Been here a number of times before… looks like it’s going down hill!!!

Typical diner type of place for breakfast but impressed with their Las Vegas Benedict(lobster and Canadian bacon option). Kid friendly and seems family owned — attentive staff.

We come here often. Great family style comfort food, love all their soups and the service is usually very good. The owner is very friendly and greets everyone with a smile. My only complaint would be that they recently changed to «seasoned» waffle fries and don’t have regular french fries at all(we asked the server). That may sound weird but what’s a patty melt without good fries! Otherwise everything we’ve tried for lunch and dinner has been very good.

I really want to like this place and give it more stars since its in my home town and has comfort food BUT i just cant get over how bad the servers are and the service itself. i was there last week with my fiancé and we had a girl who was just so unpleasant! she took forever to greet us and never checked on us to see if we needed anything and or how we liked the food etc. I requested different bread and she was short with me about it and seemed like i was making her life so difficult. the food is more expensive then buffalo and honestly not worth it if you ask me. I will definitely keep my staple and going back to the buffalo in buffalo grove, better food, better service, cheaper and just more of a homey feel then here. I tried multiple times and its just not worth my time or money anymore due to service.

My cousin took grandma and I here the morning we arrived into Chicago. They didn’t open until 6am and it was only 5:45! We had to wait outside in the car! We all laughed about this because obviously living in Vegas, we never have that problem. Our server was friendly, but very slow. She was the only one working this particular morning and was trying to serve more people than she could keep up with. Anyway I ordered the potato pancakes with applesauce and sour cream. I was disappointed that what I received was not your traditional potato pancake, but an actual pancake with a weird filling on the inside that wasn’t reminiscent of potato. I was surely disappointed in this and sent my meal back. The server offered to get me something else, but I was jet lagged and tired so I just ended up eating some of grandma’s lox omelette which was really good. My cousin ordered the hopple popple and I wish I would have ordered that. A funny name, but a yummy dish consisting of scrambled eggs, green peppers, onions, salami and potatoes. This place was forgettable. So much, I actually forgot to write a review about it.

I really tried to like this restaurant but something is always wrong. 1) dirty, dirty utensils and dishes. My fork had visibly dry chunks of food stuck on it. That same visit, my cup had lipstick marks on it… I asked for a new juice and plastic utensils and the waitress acted as if I was«too good» for this place. 2) the food is either just okay or a total miss. I ordered the French toast and it was awful. The orange juice tastes medicinal…

Service and food quality has fallen to the same failing level of the Buffalo. Ordered tuna melt. Came with unmelted cheese, french fries and potato salad as they ran out of coleslaw. Umm hello. Run next door to garden fresh and buy more coleslaw. Had four orders. Three came out under ten minutes. My wife’s order took twenty five minutes to come out. Owner Pete seems clueless. Food was made with no pride and minimal effort in quality and presentation.

The food used to be decent here. Over the past few years it has consistently gotten worse right along with the service. They generally seem disorganized at the front. When I’ve finally gotten a table the disinterested server takes forever to come by and seems to just want me to hurry through my order. The food is your standard Diner fare. Lots of choices, but unfortunately I’ve gotten under and over-cooked food in my skillets. Also more than once I could tell the cheese they used on my eggs and burger was old and probably gone moldy because of the taste. The coffee also tastes old and weak. Seems like they rarely clean their pots/machines. This is pretty unacceptable in my opinion. Also I’ve had more than one occasion where I got a dirty mug, cup, silverware or they just forgot to give silverware. There’s a lot to be improved here because this place used to have pretty ok food and service. I want to be able to come back, but a lot will need to change.

First time here, we went on a Saturday morning. There was no wait, got seated right away. Our waitress was nice except she kept forgetting straws and never asked if we wanted a refill on coffee. Food was verrrry good and large portions, you wont leave hungry !!
