A Non Denominational Ceremony

We asked Venus to be our officiant, she was very easy to work with and she took the time and attention to learn about us prior to wedding. She’s professional, prompt and I would definitely recommend her service to anyone who’s looking for a great and fun officiant for their wedding.

From the beginning, we wanted a simple but meaningful ceremony, with a few friends and a couple of family members. Venus kindly talked and instructed us via Skype, which gave us the peace of mind that, we would not only get what we agreed, but also have a ceremony that reflected our personality.

We could not have asked for a more incredible officiant than Venus. From the very first Skype call, when I was in Washington DC, my fiancé was traveling overseas, and Venus in California, Venus got up at 8am on Sunday morning to make sure we could all connect and learn as much as possible about who we are and what we want for our ceremony. From that day on she went out of her way to make our ceremony incredibly special. We wanted to write our own vows and create a ceremony that reflected our different cultural backgrounds (Japanese and Indian) as well as one that embodied what made us work as a couple. Venus was extremely informative, genuinely supportive, and completely flexible, and the three of us worked out a ceremony that we felt was the most beautiful and complete reflection of ourselves. This would have been impossible without Venus’ guidance, questions, information, and truly open ears and heart. On the day of the wedding, Venus’ preparation and her smiling face made our union simply perfect. And, it was not only the two of us who felt this way about her — every guest at our wedding said it was one of the most honest, unique, and beautiful ceremonies they had ever seen. She truly is the best!

No words can truly describe how fantastic Venus is! We were both so happy with absolutely everything about ceremony, but especially the entire process of how she got to know us — and how we worked together on crafting the ceremony together so it would be PERSONAL to us.
I was afraid we would be a high maintenance couple since we had specific things in mind for how to craft our ceremony. To my surprise — she makes every ceremony very tailored to each couple. She told our story of how we met and fell in love, what it meant to have our families travel long distances and meet for the first time, and introduced each of us before we read our personally-​written vows. The ceremony was sentimental and touching, yet at times got a few great laughs from our guests — without being even a bit cheesy or even too casual.
Venus got to know us as a couple both over the phone and on skype since my schedule didn’t really allow for us to meet in person. She asked us really great questions, and even had us answer a few questions separately, so that she could see what marriage meant to each of us individually.
By asking us to each write down the answers to a few questions she posed to us, she was able to edit together our own words, making is really seem like the ceremony was truly genuine to US as a couple.
I don’t think there was one guest at our wedding who did not comment on how touching the ceremony was. Most everyone said it was by far the BEST wedding ceremony they had ever attended. They also wanted to know how we knew Venus — because it seemed like Venus was a friend who knew us for years — not just a few weeks!
I imagine if you want a quick and easy, standard wedding ceremony, she’d be great too. She has tons of sample readings that other couples have used for you to look through for inspiration. But she’s really the perfect person if you’re looking to have a ceremony that is very specific and personal to the two of you. I would recommend her to anyone without any reservations! Let me start by saying I was surprised at the amount officiants you can find! One for every religion, race, gender, etc. I spoke to a few who were very nice but didnt give me that personal touch I was needing to make me feel like my wedding was going to be as special as I was dreaming. Then I talked to Venus. She immediately made me feel like we had known each other our whole lives. She listened to what my husband and I wanted and came back with great ideas. Her writing was heartfelt and special. She has such a wonderful personality and her smile will light up the room. I coulndn’t be happier with how our wedding went. I recommend Venus to any couple who doesn’t want that run-​of-​the-​mill type person heading their wedding. Her personality will sparkle and everyone will commend you on picking such a wonderful officiant. Sorry I’m not a great writer but this review comes straight from the heart.
