Embassy Suites by Hilton Brunswick

Just finished a 4 night stay at this place. At the last minute, I changed reservations from another hotel on Jekyll Island to stay at this one, due to the reviews I found for both, even though this one was double the price. The suites are lovely — very roomy and comfortable… except the bathroom, which maybe could have been designed a bit more friendly with the door placement. Mostly, I want to commend the staff, particularly Maria, Nick, and Chris — the BEST & friendliest omelette maker I’ve EVER met! This entire staff is fantastic, including housekeeping, and groundskeepers.
It would have been nice to have an indoor pool, and this hotel is just a tad-​bit awkward in location, as it is connected to a mall, and not easily placed just off a main highway.
The complimentary bar and hor d’oeuvres in the early evening is phenomenal, and the complimentary breakfast buffet is absolutely the BEST I have ever seen in any hotel!
I highly recommend this place when you’re staying in the south Georgia coastal islands area.

This is a first for me — writing a live review because I’m disappointed with the total experience here.
I’m a Hhonors Gold member so I almost always stay at Hilton properties because of the perks like free wi-​fi, free breakfast, etc. So it made sense to stay at the «3.5 star» Embassy Suites while I check out the local beaches. And now that I’m here I wish I was ay any other Hampton, Homewood, Hilton within a 25 mile radius.
The rooms are old, dirty and issues are abound. Not all of the TV channels work, my room key is iffy, and you can hear everything from your next door neighboors and the hallway.
And every interaction with the front desk has been either disinterest and/​or disdain. I was made to feel like I broke the keycard, that I was out of turn asking for the water and snacks that Gold members receive, and I’ve spent more time on hold calling from the room than I have actually speaking to someone.
But I give them 2 stars instead of 1 because:
Housekeeping is very good
Breakfast
Evening reception
And I still have 2 nights to go – hopefully my experience will improve.

Overall I was very impressed by this hotel! For an older hotel it was very well kept up with. The room was beautiful and very very clean. The front desk ladies were always pleasant to deal with and the only down fall is that the house keeping wasn’t very thorough and would skip a few days in cleaning the room and stocking the room back up with towels and shampoo.

We love staying at Hilton properties and this place was no exception. We were going to stay in the Brunswick area so we could go out to visit Jekyll and St. Simon Islands. We found this location had a great price and was in an idea place to travel out. They are located just off the main hwy. going out to the islands and a quick ride out and back with little traffic on the weekend. This place is very spacious and the entire first floor has not rooms. The one side is the breakfast, happy hour space and the other side is more or less a waste of space. I was greeted as an Honor Member and because i used the new app to check in early, i got my key and went right to our room.
The room was spacious with a living room area, separate bar area and a separate bedroom. The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfasts were awesome with a large selection of breakfast items and you could order a specially made omelet made by a very fast working chef. There was a Happy Hour every night and even on the weekends. Your limited choice of beer, wine, soft drinks and light snacks of chips, veggies, and sauces. We stayed for three nights and enjoyed it completely. The only problem we had was the first morning at breakfast. There was only one Busboy and he had a hard time cleaning enough tables for people to sit as they were very busy. After that everything was just fine. We will go back again next year when we come through that area.

Not what was expected. Yes staff very friendly and not their fault building in need of refurbishing. Rooms and halls smelly from age. Bath not draining Horrible beds. Will never go back

I’ve stayed in my share of Hilton and Marriots and this ranks as one of the better Hilton’s that I have seen (and is the best hotel in the area).
The staff was fantastic! From the friendly check-​in staff to the bartender pouring drinks during the free happy hour socials (free drinks and snacks) hosted by the hotel, each staff member contributed to a great stay.
This Hilton did all of the little extra things that are often overlooked and that the other hotels in the area do not seem to do. They have warm cookies waiting for you when you arrive, complimentary bottled waters in your fridge, and free Wall Street Journal and USA Todays as you leave. In addition to a great staff, you have the happy hours, a breakfast that consists of the essentials (yogurt, fruit, eggs, sausage, bacon, french toast, cereal, juice, bagels, etc), and decent sized rooms. As an added bonus, you are walking distance to the mall and many restaurants.
THe biggest drawback is that the gym is on the smaller side, but still is much better than the nearby Marriots. Overall, this was a great stay and will be where I stay whenever I am in the area again!

I’ve stayed here several times over the years and have always been satisfied. Their food program is really weak but I’m not here for that. The prices have been good but this last time they refused to match a rate for me and I’m docking them a star. Take care of your regular diamond members and try not to say no. I’m sure you weren’t sold out. It’s clean and quiet. The staff is friendly and the location is good. I would recommend this property but am not exactly a fan.

Been staying here often for the past three years. From the outside it doesn’t look like much but the service and rooms make up for that. I have never met anyone not in a good mood here. The staff is always so friendly and accommodating to my needs. The Manager’s reception always has plenty of good snacks and drinks to choose from, and it is all free. Also, the rooms are always super clean and well kept. I wouldn’t recommend any other hotel in Brunswick.

We have been coming to the Brunswick, St. Simons and Jekyll Island area for years for training and the Embassy Suites in Brunswick is head and shoulders better than everywhere else we have stayed. I’m only disappointed that we didn’t start staying here years ago. The free breakfast is amazing and the free happy hour is beyond awesome. Our room was very clean with a very comfortable bed, sofa, and chairs. All staff members were extremely nice and helpful. The attitude and helpfulness of the staff was similar to a stay at an all inclusive resort.

Well this was a pretty hard one to score. I was gonna give it a 1, but then decided I was in a decent mood today and not like I was last month when we stayed. where are ½ stars Unilocal,come on!!!
As others said, attached to old dying mall and somewhat sketch. So wa bit concerned out my car and self outside. But nothing to scary, just a bit depressing and looks like a 1930’s insane asylum from the outside.
The good –
Free happy hour is sweet, and getting hammered will help your stay.
Breakfast was solid too and free. So A + for that.
Staff all friendly and did a nice job, mostly.
The BAD — and why the 1 to 2 score
After 10 hours in car from DC with a 2 and 3 year old, we cancelled out brand new Embassy by Savannah to hit this one and get an extra hour down the road to Amelia Island — Big mistake!
As said mall are was sketch, but Atrium was great, and I felt alot better once inside… But then the trouble starts and that feeling good went down the toilet. First room — after 3 trips by me up and down, from them to rekey, give new keys, and come with me, again with 2 kids in hall after 10 hours in car — no key would open the door. RIDICULOUS.
But could be bad luck. So they move us rooms. We get in, kids not eaten dinner and late — so start dropping bags and eating… then we fin a pool of water in the bedroom from the window /​wall… and peeling soaked paint and chips all over. Probably lead paint too — yeah! So call down again, saying this stinks… and takes forever to get new room again.
Reload stuff — move to 3^rd room — now 45 minutes into no where to eat, stay and put kids to bed… and about to lose our mind. 3^rd room larger and 2 bedroom but also dated and a bit blah. But after the hour of hell, the lady did say she would give us 10 $ for beer and chips and know 10 $ off the bill…(gee thanks… Are you kidding me??) So needless ot say, the place did not measure up to Embassy Suites standards — I’d look into that corporate, this place brings you WAYYYYY down.
But I did tell a different person my nightmare in am, and all the classic details about how bad it was… and they did comp the whole thing. Not even sure free is worth it to stay here. But, on 2^nd thought I am pretty frugal — so if it was free I would probably stay again. otherwise, I would keep driving!

Hey, for the money, you can’t hardly beat this place. Attached to a slowly dying mall, it’s a rather old feeling property. Was probably the most baller of it’s kind. In 1984. Today it just feels dated. Nothing wrong with that!
I stayed for 3 nights, enjoyed the free happy hour and breakfast every day. The place was clean as can be from top to bottom. My room was very clean and comfortable. No issues AT ALL.
Receptionists were always friendly and willing to help. Parking was very easy and feels secure. And there’s a movie theater right off the main lobby.

Helpful, friendly staff any time of day or night. I’ve stayed at this location often over the past few years and never had any concerns or problems. Large, clean suite rooms, comfortable beds, good breakfasts and daily manager specials. Easy location to numerous restaurants, interstate 95, and the Golden Islands. It’s an older hotel but the service can’t be beat.

For the price and location it couldn’t be beat. Compared to all the other hotels I looked for in the area, I decided to choose this one. It’s next to a mall, restaurants and gas. Everything we needed for the few days that we were there. The hotel itself is a bit outdated, but I still found the rooms to be clean so I overlooked it. We were also pleasantly surprised to find out they had a complimentary happy hour that included snacks, cocktails, beer, wine, and other beverages. Although I probably won’t be in the area anytime soon, hopefully they match the amenities and service and upgrade the overall hotel for future guests.

A dated Embassy, but the room was clean, the staff friendly, and the breakfast was the typical high Embassy standards. Its connected to a dying mall. Over all good stay for the price.

Stayed here en-​route from NC to Fl and found it to be a disappointment, in comparison to other Embassy Suites’ I’ve frequented. Staff were friendly and helpful; but, the rooms were «tired»…worn…not fresh smelling… with torn draperies. Key entry system took a PhD in magic for reentry each time you left the room… chips and other munchies at the cocktail hour were stale…(drinks were great)…and breakfast was good. All in all, they need to invest a bit to return this place to Hilton standard.

Wall paper peeling at an Embassy Suites? Not what we expected from this chain. It was clean though.
Okay, it was under construction but, the mall it was attached to was very low-​scale.
