Comfort Suites Golden Isles Gateway

This is the nicest Comfort Suites I’ve stayed at. Not that I would say this is a five star hotel, but as far as service, quality, and value go, it gets 5 stars in my book.
You have to love that Comfort Suites has a complimentary breakfast. with a pretty good spread too, not just continental.
The woman who helped us at checkin was very nice; she was brand new, and a good hire, as she was very pleasant and professional.
The rate I paid was incredible. apparently there are often coupons that can be found and give very great rates. I’ll be looking for those more often!
Everything was very clean. The rooms were large and spacious (see photos I posted). It’s suite-​style, hence the name, so you have a living room area and the bedroom area. In this case, they were divided by a cute partition. There’s a large mini fridge (not the tiny kind — one of the great things about these hotels).
The hotel is right off I-​95 and perfect for a stop on your way elsewhere, or to go checkout Jekyll island. There are other hotels surrounding it, but this one was a wayy better price and value.

Clean and new, nice staff. good location.

I chose this motel after 2 good stays at the Comfort Suites in Lumberton, NC. I was really hoping that this property would be great, sealing Comfort Suites as my go-​to budget motel. Sadly, it failed in a few key areas.
The bed appeared clean at first, until I found some kind of grease or ink stain in the middle of the sheet. The mattress and mattress pad were in good shape.
The toilet seat appeared to have some kind of film on it. Maybe it was cleaning product that wasn’t wiped off completely — at least I hope that’s what it was. The bowl seemed okay. The tub had mold in the corners and crevices, and a fairly poor repair job was evident near the door.
One of the two phones didn’t work at all. There was only one functional ice machine in the building, but there were only two to begin with. The WiFi signal was weak and intermittent, which is always disappointing. There was no remote but the front desk gave one to me on request.
The worst of all was a dirty ice bucket. There’s just no excuse for that. The coffee maker had some kind of filth in the water reservoir. These are food items and needs to be cleaned properly every day.
Not everything was bad, of course. There were plenty of towels and pillows. The room was well-​appointed and comfortable. The front desk was responsive to the concerns I expressed, though impotent to correct them. Check-​in and check-​out were smooth and friendly. The breakfast was standard fare but was fully stocked. The dining area could have been cleaner, though.
I know they were busy, in fact, fully booked, but the problems we encountered went beyond just being busy.

My mother and I wanted to take a trip to Jekyll Island and needed to stay close since one of the hotels I wanted to stay at on Jekyll Island was booked. My husband did the research and he suggested this place. Since this was a last minute booking he called the front desk and the hostess was very kind and accommodating.
Located in an area that has retail stores and chain restaurants. Safe and nice.
When we arrived, the wait was not long. I was able to check in within 10 minutes and hostess made sure she answered all our questions and gave us a breakdown of where the pool, fitness room, vending and ice machine was at to what time was breakfast and login info on free wifi. Very helpful.
I entered the room and checked everything before we brought our stuff in. Everything was perfect. Room, bathroom and beds were cleaned. (stayed on the third floor).
We got two queen size beds (4 pillows each).
Breakfast was good. Food (eggs, sausages, gravy) was hot and fresh. They kept the station area cleaned. They also served danishes, biscuits, bagels, toast, cereal, yogurt, fruit (banana and orange), coffee, apple juice, orange juice, coffee and a waffle station (original or blueberry). Condiments stocked.
Slept well. The beds and pillows are comfortable.
Staff very friendly and housekeeping did a good job cleaning the room the next day.
My only Con is the Wifi is extremely slow and hot water runs out fast.
I would definately stay again. Great experience.

The people at the front desk are very friendly. The place is clean and bright. As a woman staying in the hotel by myself, I felt secure. The bathroom is large and the room layout is great. There was a little bit odd a funny smell in my room but after about 10 minutes I didn’t really notice anymore. It was easy to find and I would definitely stay here again.

We stayed here last weekend as a one night stopover on a longer trip. We chose this property on the strength of its TripAdvisor rating (#1 in the Brunswick area). I was completely underwhelmed by their effort when it came to accommodating our request for adjoining rooms — they pretty much ignored it and were completely unwilling to juggle things around even though we checked in pretty early and they had a ton of people who hadn’t checked in yet. But, aside from that, it was a nice place. The rooms were spacious and clean, the wifi was free, and the breakfast was decent.
