History
Established in 1994.
Jefferson Academy (JA), a public school chartered by the Jefferson County R-1 School District, began in 1994 when a group of parents filed a charter application with the Jefferson County R-1 School District. The school began as an elementary school and then added a junior high in 1996 and a senior high in 1999. JA uses the Core Knowledge curriculum in grades kindergarten through eight. The senior high uses a complementary educational program, which is a coordinated humanities model. The entire school focuses on a rigorous academic program in a disciplined environment. Jefferson Academy has been rated a School of Excellence by the Colorado Department of Education five times, most recently in 2013. We have had a graduation rate of 98%-100% since 2010.
