Tutu’s

This man and I walked in at the same time (well he entered and passed the door to me) & he was immediately greeted and asked if he needed anything. No one said anything to me. I waited around to try and order something but after a few minutes of not even being acknowledged I decided that I no longer wanted to wait. I then went and sat to wait for a friend in the outside section. The employees that passed me did not speak to me but at that point I wasn’t surprised.

Best freaking veggie burger I’ve ever had. Beans and thanksgiving.
Also, fries come with twigs of rosemary. ROSEMARY, the best herb of all.
And the staff is gr8 and the scene is cool. Best bar in the nabe

We had a huge boozy brunch last Sunday. I order 1 bloody mary and my friend ordered the white Russian with cereals. On our second round I order the White Russian and you have to be prepared because it is very strong. After 2 white Russian you are drunk. On the food part we ordered the chicken waffle, the eggs and grits and I had the avocado toast with the eggs.
I did not try the other dish but I was a little bit disappointed with my toast. The eggs were of, I liked the little tomato salad on the size with the sweet vinegar but the avocado was overripe. The avocado looked more like an old guacamole, moldy and rotten,. than something fresh… the taste was as delightful as sawdust. (this is why Tutu’s is loosing 2 points) The service and the atmosphere of the place was very nice!

I went to TuTu’s for brunch with a girlfriend and I am soooooo glad we tried this spot. Patrick Murphy, the bartender at this joint, is incredible. He created this White Russian with fun sugar cereals like Fruit Loops or Lucky Charms that was the most amazing balance between childhood nostalgia and adult fun. The breakfast of champions is an amazing edition to the menu $ 4 well shot to start you off on your day. They also have a «mighty mimosa» on the menu which is in a pint glass instead of a champagne flute if your looking to get some bang for your buck.
Interesting people to talk to or look at if you sit at the bar. Beautiful interesting décor if you sit at a table. Good scene and vibes. It is also Close to many galleries and syndicated the movie spot.

GAME OF THRONES ALERT! Sunday’s! If it’s a regular thing, I’m in! Got my henny served up in a (albeit plastic… Sigh) goblet, fitting for season première showing in the not-​so-​exclusive-​but-​sealed-​tight-​with-​security-​code-​locked-​door-​backroom, where from Unilocal I gather also doubles as loungey area at night. Definitely looked like a good time, and I do rather enjoy the vibes here. Very Brooklyn-​ish. Lots of vintage going on but I love that about Brooklyn and all the places popping up so I don’t mind. Good demographic, nice crowd that comes here.
3 star in the way of food… Wasn’t so impressed. Looking forward to updating this after another visit

A beautiful monday on tutu’s terrace, one of the great spot of east williamsburg (Bushwick).
I started with a refreshing strawberry lemonade, not on the menu but still available if you ask your waiter, and ordered a regular salad. Nothing to complain about my first drink and food but i experienced an expeditious service but still very pleasant.
Avoiding this part of my day, i later asked for the baby ribs meal. What a surprise to try this succulent dish. It was literally melting in the mouth like butter… Stunning. More surprising, the size of this baby ribs. A giant peace of meat that makes you wonder what could be the Adult one ;-)
At the end, a perfect place to hang out for a coffee or a lemonade on their little cuty terrace and a great restaurant to try one of the best baby ribs. I never heard good reviews for their burgers but i will definitely come to try one of them.

Worst burger I’ve had at a restaurant in probably about 10 years. On the other hand, service was extremely friendly, and it was a comfortable spot.
I never really have any wild expectations when I get a burger. We popped in to grab something quick to eat. I ordered the burger medium. When it came out, it looked a little suspicious, so I pulled the bun off to scope it out. The patty was black, and the size of a potato chip. I try to give the benefit of the doubt, and thought «Well, even though it was 15 dollars. I bet the meat is super good grass fed high end stuff. Can’t always expect a normal portion».
I took a bite, and the midnight-​black-​charred outside tasted like it was straight up burnt to carbon. Once my teeth managed to pierce through its kevlar-​like shell, and sunk into the meat, it was clear that it was way way beyond well done. I was essentially eating a piece of coal. It was probably a normal size burger til they left it on the grill for 10 minutes too long. It tasted like tonguing down a vintage ash tray. If I dropped the patty off the table, it might have shattered into dust. That dust then would’ve then probably given me black lung.
Trying not to be fussy. Burgers are pretty rarely cooked to the temperature ordered, so some variation is expected. But I have no clue how the dude in the kitchen plated that and sent it out in good conscience. I was deliriously hungry so I threw it down the hatch and rolled out. My friend’s chicken burger looked pretty bomb, so it’s not all bad. But shit, that burger suuuuucked.

So good! I’d definitely come back for brunch any day! I had scrambled eggs on a bun with sausage and salad! The portions were huge and the sauce was delicious!

Argh. The food here is thoroughly mediocre. We ordered 3 dozen oysters and I have never actually had horseradish taste bad before. According to the water they grind it fresh in the morning. I find that hard to believe. The steak we ordered done medium was well done. Blah. Maybe good for drinks but this place sucks for food.

The food was okay. We had a spinach artichoke dip, which was good. The bread was good. I had a grilled Romaine salad, which tasted good, but was very difficult to eat. My girlfriend had the schnitzel, which was very dry, and had no flavor. No sauce, no lemon. Nothing. Quite disappointing.
The portion sizes are gigantic. It’s suburban size portions, suburban quality, with Brooklyn plating. Everything comes out on a wooden board, which, while pretty, makes a mess very quickly.
Cramped space. Wouldn’t recommend, unless you live in the area and don’t want to walk to someplace better.

Came here on a Saturday night while looking for a change from Bossa Nova. My review is strictly for the lounge.
Ambience: The back room is turned into a dance floor. Crowd seem mostly in their 20s.
Music: Mostly hip hop and reggae old and new school. The dj was pretty good, not amazing, but good.
Drawbacks: No coat check, so everyone throws their jackets on the couches wich can make it a little confusing when people get intoxicated.
This is out of my way for me but I am intrigued to try their brunch.

Walked in and a heavily re-​mixed version of «Blue Monday» was playing.
Tutu’s patina is artfully done. The crafts people who blended needle point, old lamps and year book photos from 1991 were very detailed.
The Happy Hour menu is generous. I had the burger and beer combo. I added some gorgonzola and slab bacon. The burger itself was excellent and the bun was buttered and tosted to perfection.
We shared the shallot fries were well worth it and there was plenty for two.
Service was good. The highlight of the service was when the first order of fries were cold they had no problem getting us a new order with acceptable speed.

Great for dinner or brunch. The burger is real. Dollar oysters pretty much all the time. This is a consistently delicious restaurant. Friendly and respectably prompt service. Fun ambiance. Seating at the bar is totally doable if it gets too busy.

IMHO, the food at Tutu’s was ok, but a bit too heavy and spicy to be appreciated in the morning. Other than that, it has a hip decoration and great staff.

If I had written this review two months ago during the pleasant summer, it would have been a happy, content, glowing review. During that time, it came to be one of my favorite spots for brunch in the Bushwick-​East Williamsburg neighborhood. This was a feeling shared by others as Tutu’s always did well with customers around brunch-o’clock. I think this can be attributed to the abundance of outdoor seating and the perfectly positioned awning in that area that seemingly provides shade at any angle. Coming early, right when they open — the kitchen is able to work fast, the waitstaff are a bit quicker on the pickup (as there are less people to service), and it is generally a good experience. Food is very solid though a bit on the pricier end of the Bushwick brunch spectrum.
A few months later, come late Oct., swung by for brunch again. Brunch menus changed (dropped a bunch of items); outdoor seatings gone away. Arrived at around 11:45 was given a 30-​minute wait time; but wasn’t seated until 12:30. Now fifteen minutes is quite a bit to go over waiting — especially as when we were led to the back of the restaurant larger tables were open — however, for our table of two they would not seat us at these larger benched tables despite no demand for them. That was a bit annoying! Fine moving on. Ordered a burger, buddy ordered the pulled pork sandwich — it took another 45-​minutes before the food came to the table. The wait staff did not give an update on where we were with the food or even apologize for the delay. Had to ask for refills of coffee. Minutes before the food came we were contemplating storming out.
That day demonstrated a complete breakdown in all parts where service was delivered. The hostess was wrong about her time estimate and was so locked in on giving us the one table she had selected that it didn’t matter we waited 50% longer than what she quoted us. The wait staff provided the bare minimum of service if you could call it that. And either the kitchen was not putting out the foods in a timely manner or another error on the part of the waitstaff.
Shame this last experience soured my taste so much cause the food at Tutu’s is not bad at all. Especially those rosemary-​shallot fries…
FIX YOUR BRUNCH GAME BACK UP TUTU’S

Tutus is my all time favorite back yard restaurant-​never lets me down.
It is the best place to sit outside and people watch in Bushwick while eating a filling and scrumptious veggie burger and rosemary shallot-​fries.
On the colder days, sit inside for a cozy and homy atmosphere and try the lump crab meat mac and cheese or monkfish bites. Everything on the menu is delicious in its own unique way.
If you’re looking for something sweet try the Nutella stuffed french toast-​melts in your mouth.
Cocktails are top notch– try a Whisky Sour or The Strawberry Blonde. There are new and creative cocktails all the time.
Above all, the staff is fantastically friendly and on point of everything.

The fries are my hangover cure. The scrambeled egg sandwich with the bacon and those fries and a bloody and a cup of tea… hangover cure deluxe
Sometimes its WAY out of control busy and the stay isn’t very nice, however not rude just most likely busy!
Sometimes art fair crafts in the backroom or comedy nights oh and a club scene too ha!

Amazing food. Tutu’s has a raw bar with fresh Oysters and Clams.
I had the Spinach and Artichoke Dip, it’s seriously the BEST I’ve ever had. It was creamy, cheesy, made with fresh spinach and huge chunks of artichokes, with a bit of red chili. It was so good, but the best part was the bread. Honestly, this bread was delicious. Freshly made and toasted, cut into huge pieces and covered in olive oil. Insanely tasty.
The Rosemary Shallot Fries were really good too, but the Spinach Dip definitely stole the show in my book.

I think I just found my new hang out spot. My long time friends thought this place would be a good spot to catch up. Once you walk in I have to admit just had a very chill, calm relaxing feel to it. Wasn’t to loud, place nice music and the waiter was very attentive.
For appetizer we order oyster which was my first time trying them and they were fresh and delicious with the horseradish. I ordered a Romain salad with grilled chicken and my friend ordered a fish nuggets. Everything was delicious. I didn’t get to splurge with the alcohol but it seems like everyone at the bar enjoyed it. I’m making plans to come back again and try more stuff… Everything came out to a decent price I would recommend this place for a relaxing date or catch up with friends.

Tutu’s was never very crowded, but it looked so cool. This little «hide away» bar in the trendy area of Bushwick is per the neighborhood typically — dark moody and with fun décor and pretty people.
When I saw the $ 14-​$ 30 entrée averages — I realized why it was usually dead here — or no one was eating.
I’d been drinking all night so I ordered the burger, despite the fact that the waitress recommended (only) the lamb shank, one of the most expensive things on the menu.
The burger arrived with overcooked fries, but it was the over buttery bun that was the real repulsion. I tried sponging it off with napkins, to no avail.
No waitress in sight, so I woofed the patty down — greasy and overly moist. I hated to break the news to the waitress — it sucked. She actually seemed to care — and got the burger reduced to happy hour price $ 10. Even that was a sacrilege.
I paid and promptly walked over to Forrest point across the street to get one of their awesome porchetta sandwiches for $ 9.
I came this close to walking into Tutu’s and cussing out the shift manager, but no one would have profited from that, and they truly prolly wouldn’t care.
Cool vibe — but way overpriced with a major miss food sample on my visit, in a hipster touristy south beach kind of way.
Tutu’s — get your $h*t together. You sucked.
