Description

Specialties

16 foot horseshoe bar, and large outdoor patio. Open late nights to drink and eat under the sun or the stars — the patio is open all night! In the winter, the wood burning stove has a fire going, perfect with your whiskey. Unique British and West Indian influenced pub grub, including the much lauded Oxtail Sloppy Joe, Curried Goat Shepards Pie, and Portebello Mushroom Veggie Burger, and Mac n Cheese the Village Voice called the «best thing we ate this week.»

All of our food is made fresh, including our specialty Yellow Bloody Mary, with hand-squeezed yellow tomatoes, or our Pimms Cup, with fresh squeezed lemon juice, muddled cucumber and mint and ginger reduction.

Scottish, American and Irish whiskey and whiskey flights, and wine by the glass or bottle, and extensive craft and traditional beers to choose from. Enjoy next to the wood burning stove in the winter, or sit outdoors under the birch tree in the pub garden in the summer, or just hang out for some good bartender chats, a few pints and a game of jenga!

History

Established in 2013.

The Rookery pub design and overall vision is that of owner Jamie Schmitz and his wife, who have British and West Indian roots. The large industrial space is a former loading bay, and the bar interior, exterior, garden, and all fixtures were built entirely by local Bushwick craftsmen, including Jamie himself.
