This place rules. Bonus points for playing music quietly and not being crowded.

So the pros are this place is super cute and has great wine and cheese. The crowd tends to be more mature so it’s not the kind of place you come to pick someone up. Plus they have Lambrusco! Woo woo!!! The cons? I’m went on a Friday and it was dead. And they were playing the WORST old R & B. I’m talking Babyface, Luther Vandross, and Toni Braxton. I actually heard«Unbreak my heart». Nothing wrong with that music. But Friday night at a bar I’m not interested in listening to 90s heartbreak music. It’s was actually really distracting and odd. It’s Williamsburg. Play some indie or classic rock and call it a day.

Decently-priced bottles of wine to share with friends. And on that note, they tolerated my loud group of friends who reunited after a long time apart! Always nice to feel welcomed.

Geez, for a place that certainly has everything going for it(good location, good food, good décor, good backyard), they sure manage to screw it up. I’ve been here 3 times now and every time has been a service disaster; the portion sizes keep getting smaller, the service slower and the staff worse. Last time we waited 30 minutes for a sandwich and cheese plate(there were 5 people in the bar, and no one else was ordering food), the time before I waited 45 minutes after they charged the wrong credit card that was left behind the bar and they couldn’t figure out how to work the machine. Eventually had to go take cash out, and I’m sure whoever got charged for our drinks had a fun time getting their refund. Drinks consistently take forever, and the bartenders are clueless. A real shame, I’ve put up with some crumby service in New York and I hate to say this is one of the first that I refuse to come back to again. Three strikes, you’re out.

Yikes I must have come on an off night! The service was a real detractor. I’d give 5 stars for the atmosphere, this is a beautiful bar. Spacious and well decorated with lots of candles and good music. They have a backyard that might actually be heated somehow but, you know, it’s January so I decided to just stay inside. They have a solid wine selection, a few interesting cocktails, a handful of good beer options and a full menu of cheeses and meats(plus some desserts and two sandwiches). I was interested to try The Other Sandwich(the vegetarian one) but they weren’t serving it when I went so my friend and I split a two cheese platter($ 11). This place is pricey for what you get. Our cheese plate was beautiful but we got a small cup of the chevre and a very, very small slice of the brie-like cheese from VT that we ordered. It comes with 4 – 5 peanuts, walnuts, and dried cranberries and a small spoonful of fig jam, along with a small dish of sliced and toasted breads. Like I said, you’re going to need to spend quite a bit here if you’re actually hungry but the cheese plate was delicious. Drinks were pretty good, my friend ordered a wine that she liked and I had the Winter Sangria, which was good but felt sort of weak. I’d stick to wine next time. The real issue here was the service. I came at about 10:15 on a Thursday and only one person seemed to be working at the bar. He saw me standing at the bar and took my drink orders but asked me to wait to give him my cheese order. He made the drinks and gave them to me and then walked off again, obviously overwhelmed with filling other drink orders. I stood there for about 10 minutes and could not get his attention. When I did, I asked if I could place an order for cheese and he asked me to wait two seconds and he’d come back. He seemed sort of apologetic but it was frustrating watching him take and fill orders while I stood there and waited(and I’m not picky about service!) This seemed to stem from the fact that they need to wear gloves to handle the food and setting up a cheese plate takes some time. Obviously more people should have been working and he should not have had to handle all the drink orders while also making food. Still, there was a pretentious attitude about this place and having such bad service definitely put me off.

Visited from SF and enjoyed sampling the sandwiches and thought 1– these are likely THEBEST sandwiches I have EVER eaten and 2– I wished they didn’t have to end! We will be back! YUM(and my foodie daughter agreed 100%).

A gem in the neighborhood. Amazing cheese and meat selection, decent wine list, and one of the cutest gardens around. The owner and staff are absolutely delightful. This place is definitely in my top five in the hood.

I went with friends on a late Saturday afternoon. It’s a very dark and intimate atmosphere, but it fits the space. We ordered a meat and cheese plate — two meats(prosciutto and a chicken liver mousse) and two cheeses(gouda and goat cheese). Everything was delicious, and just enough as a snack for three people. Definitely plan on returning.

The place is very beautiful. They have a front room, a small side room which can also be rented out for parties, and a beautiful little back patio. My wonderful girlfriend took me her for part of my birthday because she knew I would enjoy it but normally wouldn’t spend this kind of money on a little cheese and meat sampler plate. She sprung on a 6 sample plate for $ 26(other options are 2 for $ 10, 4 for $ 18, and 8 for $ 32). The cheese is divided on their menu into 5 different types with a total of 14 varieties(1oz each). There’s half as many meat options. Wines are mostly $ 8−10/glass while beers are mostly $ 6 – 8 though the full range is $ 4 – 14. Although this is primarily all they do, there is a couple small sweet options and a couple sandwiches on the menu as well. We told the bartender/waitress to surprise us with a selection of 4 cheeses and 2 meats but not to include any of the blue cheeses or pâté. What we ended up getting was fantastic. I like how everything comes on a slate with markings to identify which is which. In addition to the meat and cheese they gave us a little honey, a few pieces of fruits/nuts, and a basket of toasted bread. We also got a couple of their special sangrias of the day. I really enjoyed the piña colada sangria while my girlfriend was a fan of her passion fruit peach. Sitting outside during a quiet and warm Saturday morning with all of this was a great part to my birthday and I’m glad I came here.

Pretentious and pompous with staff that believes it serves Holly water while delivering service and beverages of the two Buck chuck range. Oh and overpriced as hell. Here is the hint — lose 90% of your attitude and just maybe you will start delivering on what you promise.

Liked Liked Liked it! The cheese and meat plate was fresh and lovely. The fresh sangria was to die for(I tried all 3 flavors in less than an hour). The sandwich was better than fabulous. Loved Loved Loved it!

Neat place to hang out during the day(and probably a nice bar at night as well, I’ve only been there in the afternoon) The sandwiches(1−6pm) are delicious, beets, beets everywhere! I wish they had a broader variety of soft drinks or nonalcoholic brews though.

Tuffet is great, just all around. The wifi is wonderful and they are very accepting of freelancers hanging out and doing their thing for hours on end. Staff is knowledgable and helpful. The beer is great, so is the wine and the daytime sangria specials. Cheese and meat platters are not to be missed, and if you’re in the mood for a sandwich, «the sandwich» has a killer plum sauce that is pretty amazing.

Update for my work at-home peoples & freelancers! I worked the day away here last Thursday(they opened at 2pm) & held my business meetings in the lovely backyard. Wi-Fi is free flowing on-tap, the Americanos fresh & strong enough + the daytime bartender/barista was gracious & lovely.

The perfect wine bar. Genuinely nice and helpful staff, wonderful food, inventive sangria, great wine list. Super cute art deco interior with a great back patio for summer.(Nice outdoor fireplace for colder temps, too.) We had a small event here, and the staff was truly great to work with – planning was a breeze. And the day came off without a hitch. It was a huge relief to have no surprises. It’s an ideal spot for a small party, or just hanging with friends. Party at Tuffet!

My new favorite place. My new favorite thing about this new favorite place. Their meat and cheese platter(for 2 options) is only $ 10. Completely and deliciously affordable. They’re drinks aren’t too shabby either. They have a nice-looking garden though I didn’t go back there. There’s seating at the bar, in the very front and along the wall. It’s a small place, but intimate. It’s definitely more of a date spot where you’re not quite ready for the dinner but where the charcuterie won’t make you break the bank if you choose to go to dinner. TLDR: Go here!

Dark, modern interior + classic, delicious(affordable!) menu, free wifi and a banging playlist. Yes yes yes & yes. I had a blue and a soft, young goat cheese paired with a white wine. It was perfect. The cheese plate comes with raw honey, slightly sweet walnuts, cranberries and two kinds of bread for $ 10. I hummed along to the Talking Heads and other new wave. I got to order an extra half glass of wine. Couldn’t have been happier.

Our last stop for the evening was Tuffet, which after a quick google search revealed a meaning of tuft or clump(perhaps of chese?) or a footstool or low seat, of which they also have plenty here. To call this place stylish, would be rather an understatement. This place would be beloved by font aficionados, who are a very exacting bunch. As it turns out, I had no idea that my drinking buddy, besides being an undercover spy, is also a seasoned sans serif loving babe! Drink wise, I finally caved to the tequila call of the wild, and grabbed an Old Agave. I don’t know what my campmate was drinking, as she insisted on ordering and paying for everything. At this point in the evening who can complain. I was starting to like a woman that can DOMINATE at this point, and besides, I really didn’t want any artful kicking to be aimed at my vulnerabilities! What you will really wonder at is the perfection of the place. The walls with their crisp white seems, the black lamps hanging over each table, and the stools which seem to levitate in their own perfection, with clean smooth seats, and robot like legs. A cool, slick cap to the evening.
