I’ve probably walked past this store hundreds of times without stopping. But now that I’m a grown-ass man and it’s no longer acceptable to have a Big Lebowski poster and a picture of Shea Stadium as the only decoration in my apartment, I’m trying to branch out. Town & Country caught my eye because they have all kinds of lighting. There’s a corner of our apartment that is entirely too dark, and we want some kind of sconce. We think. There were only a couple of sconces in here, but they really have ever kind of lamp or chandelier or general illumination device ever. There’s also a nice selection of antique furniture, housewares, and other randomness. The main focus seems to be on lighting though, and if you’re going to go out of your way to come here, I’d do it for a lamp. I love lamp.

Really friendly, helpful staff, and a much more interesting selection than many of its peers along the block. Add to this prices that are lower than what you see elsewhere. A solid 5-stars.

Some interesting things but the owner is RUDE!!! He didn’t greet us when we came in and kept glaring over the top of his glasses at my friend and I as we were browsing in there like we were going to break something. She was looking for a Christmas gift for her boyfriend but after his snottiness we we eager to leave. If you are the proprietor of a business, a little friendliness goes a long way. He generally had a nasty vibe about him. No thanks, there are a million other places to go in this town with much friendlier people and even cooler stuff. So there.

A mishmash of antique furniture, jewelry, and vintage miscellaneous home good with a tad more 50’s nuclear family flair that the other stores in the area. I saw a lovely fold away cocktail bar, complete with glasses, for what I’m slowly realizing is a reasonable price…
