Whatever you do, do NOT bring your MacBook to this man to fix!
I recently went to him to find out why my MacBook Pro wasn’t taking a charge, and since I had two chargers and neither of them was charging it, I told him I thought the charge port needed to be repaired. He told me to take my chargers with me, that he didn’t need them to diagnose the computer, so I complied.
He texted me telling me that after running some diagnostics, that it WAS my charge port that needed repairing, and that he could do it in about an hour for $ 100. Sounded great at the time, so I had him do just that.
He texted me again within 15 minutes and told me the computer was ready to be picked up. I went back and sure enough the computer was taking a charge, which I was so grateful to see I just gave him the money and said thank you and left. By the time I got home I plugged it in and it still was not taking a charge.
I tried to contact him multiple times via text and by email, and eventually demanding a full refund, as my computer was not fixed as he had promised it was. He told me that because he had posted a sign in his apartment stating that by law, he was not allowed to give refunds, he would not refund my money. (There was no such sign)
He told me that he’d replaced my charge port entirely and that he’d be happy to run more diagnostics to see what the problem was. There was no way I was going to let this man anywhere near my computer again, especially because his «diagnostics» were clearly completely incompetent to begin with.
I ended up making an appointment with Apple in Soho and within minutes the technician was happy to diagnose the computer right in front of me, and immediately tested my chargers FIRST to see if they were functioning. (They were not!) The chargers were the problem the entire time. The port, AND the battery were both fine, and I even had the Apple technician confirm that the charge port was in fact the ORIGINAL, and had NEVER been replaced.
The frustration with using a man like this is that he doesn’t own a registered business, so there is ZERO accountability when you come across a problem like this. He works out of his apartment, so you can’t even walk in and discuss the issue with him or a manager.
End of the story is, I could have just bought a new charger, but lost $ 100 in the process to a lying scheming @$$hole, in an attempt to save money.
Please, for my sake, and your own — USE ANOTHER SERVICE!!!

thought to save some money getting the broken screen replaced, was not any less money than taking it to Apple store, also please note that if you take your device to a third party for repairs Apple will no longer touch it even if it is under warranty. the phone worked for a few months but now the screen is coming off and the display is not connected rendering the phone unusable, since i cannot get into the phone i cannot use the phone to text for repair, used a friends phone to request a fix and never received a response.

I went to Andrew’s home. (This isn’t a store, it is his apartment) brought him my phone, he fixed my crack screen (iPhone 6), all good for about a month. Then the screen just stopped working. It unlocks one in every 10 swipes, when it is unlocked the keyboard just doesn’t press the right keys, I need to press an app several times for it to open. So it’s just broken. When I left Andrew mentioned that he offers a 90 day warranty. So naturally I text him and ask if I can stop by and he can take a look at it. He doesn’t respond. I call, no answer. I have now gone to another store so that can fix it and I am out $ 250 and my apple warranty so if anything else ever goes wrong with my phone I am not covered. Also his price after tax is actually more than the apple store after tax. Take your phone to the apple store and stay away from this guy.

I had to return a few weeks later when the new iPhone screen that Andrew installed started peeling away from the phone, causing what I call ‘phantom screen presses’, where it starts opening apps on its own. When I texted him about it, he asked me to come back so that he could take a look at it. He told me that the screen was inexplicably coming loose from the phone, which caused stress on certain parts of the screen and made the random apps open. He kindly put in another brand new screen (for free) and off I went.
A few months later, the SAME thing happened, where the screen started pulling away yet again to the point where I could now see light peeking out through the sides of the phone. Worse yet, certain parts of the keyboard were no longer functional, which made texting a frustrating experience since I could no longer type certain letters or numbers unless I turned my phone sideways. I texted TheMacFix again, this time with no reply, even after a few days. Feeling unwilling to get the screen changed, I lived with a busted screen for a few months until an opportune screen crack led me to Lazy Bee Cellphone Repair in Flushing, Queens, where the guy showed me that the reason why my screen had been pulling away was because my phone was slightly bent. In addition, he showed me that the screen put in by TheMacFix was not an OEM screen. This time, I had a guy who not only installed an OEM screen, but quickly recognized why my screen kept pulling away, put extra glue on the phone, AND on top of all that, did it for far less (Lazy Bee did it for $ 110).
I think Andrew did an all right job the first time, and it was nice of him to offer a free fix when that screen started pulling away. Still, I was disappointed that he didn’t at least respond to my pleas for help the next time (I would’ve understood if I had to pay, but I would’ve at least appreciated a text back saying so). In the end, even if he had, he wasn’t able to spot and diagnose the root issue — that is, my slightly bent phone — which would’ve meant I’d have to come back again and again anyway, so I’m happy I found someone else for the final fix.

Fixed my broken screen in under 10 min. and reasonably priced. I was really confused by the location– you MUST text or call the number first.

Those mountebanks at the Apple store may tell you that your computer is irreparable, but do not let them deceive you! Andrew had my computer working again in no time, and for a very reasonable price.

Quick, easy and convenient. Done in less than 10 mins. Would have loved to spend 100 dollars on something else but not disappointed. Screen is good quality so it’s worth it. Thanks Andrew

Andrew is a miracle worker! I broke my phone 2 days ago and leaving for vacation in 2 days. I was so desperate that I was gonna pay for a brand new phone, until my friend told me about this. So I quickly Unilocaled and texted Andrew and he promptly responded. Now I have a brand new screen and can take tons of picture while on vacation. Thank you!

Going to Andrew for my logic board repair (spill damage) saved me about $ 400, and my computer is working good as new; I’m so pleased! He charged his flat rate of $ 350, while Apple’s charge with tax was about 755… even more expensive at Apple certified repair shops (Unfortunately, Apple Care is rendered useless if you’re a human prone to making human mistakes). Anywho, after I dropped the computer off to him, he had it ready and repaired in about a week– faster and cheaper than Apple could have done! Thanks a lot for your help, Andrew!
My only qualm was that I had trouble reaching him. I’d texted him and called two times prior before finally getting in touch with him, and after arranging an appt., I don’t know what happened, but I ended up showing up at his apt., waiting 20 mins, and then just returning home due to no response to my calls or text. I know my phone was experiencing some glitches at the time, so it very well could have been to blame for all of that. The rest was a breeze, though, after we finally connected.
All in all, I’d recommend him to a friend.

A total miracle worker. I dropped my phone from a 5^th story fire escape onto concrete. The screen was completely shattered, and the base it attaches to was hanging out of the phone, attached by only a small plastic tab. I emailed The Mac Fix at 3pm, he said it seemed fixable which I found hard to believe. I arrived at his place at 5pm and within 20 minutes he’d repaired the phone completely. I could not be more impressed, highly recommend!

This was the second time I cracked my screen. And being that I had previously used a 3^rd party to fix it, Apple would not fix my phone. I spent 3 days without being able to use my phone and honestly I was getting frustrated. Because apparently the person who had fixed my screen before did a terrible job and used a cheap screen. Hence the reason my phone broke so easily the second time around. So…
I Unilocaled a location and decided to try The Mac Fix. It was close to where I was and had decent reviews. I text him and without hesitation he asked me what time we could meet. Half hour later, I was there and 10 minutes later I was out with a brand new screen.
Oh and my phone prior to this had lights coming out of all corners because the other person who fixed my phone said it was broken. But, now there is no light or anything wrong with my phone. The screen works perfect! Thank you for an amazing job!

This guy is great. You mean in his apartment (keeps the overhead low, keeping costs down), he works quickly and efficiently, replies to texts promptly, and he even let me watch, which was fascinating, getting to see the insides of the phone.

My iPhone 6 had been broken for over a month and I was reluctant to fix it but I finally called The Mac Fix and not only was my phone fixed perfectly, it was much cheaper than several other companies I had reached out to. Andrew is also extremely nice and informative.

Like most people whose iPhone 5s cracks in the front screen, you feel vulnerable, irritated, and ready to drop your cellular plan even when you have insurance on your phone.
I called, and Andrew asked to leave a text message. I emailed to confirm both ways, and he responded within 20 minutes and was very flexible with creating a quick appointment time that worked within both our schedules.
When I came to his place, I was very confused as to how to get to his apartment once inside, but after conquering the labyrinth, I made it in, and it was fixed in under 15 minutes.
It’s also really great to see the inside of an iPhone first hand. Such tiny screws!
For $ 100 I told him thank you and I will be recommending this service to my other vulnerable friends. It’s almost quicker than the typical drug deal that goes on in that area of the Burg!

You know how it is. You had to wait a month from its release to get the 5S because you wanted the gold one. You’re also somewhat of a klutz… and dropped the phone about 2 months into owning it. After it hit the pavement face down, you hear a horrifying sound… the screen cracking.
In disbelief, you call around. One Apple location tells you they are replacing the screens on the 5S. You make an appointment with a so-​called genius… who tells you in person that they are not replacing the screen. Another well known service place also tells you they are not replacing the screen. You patiently wait a few months more. then you email Andrew.
Andrew came highly recommended by a close friend of mine and his quote of $ 100 for the 5S screen was a no-​brainer. I did have to return 2 days later because it seemed the new screen was defective and he replaced it again for no extra cost. He is quick but he is also very personable and great to talk to. I will definitely keep him in mind for all of my Apple products!
