Richard is a great pet sitter. He is very reliable and very responsive. Each time I have asked him to pet sit for my cat he has always been available. He is a no nonsense guy who has a genuine interest in caring for animals. I have used Richard two times now, and I plan to use him as my regular pet sitter from now on. One important thing is he doesn’t charge key pick up fees or extra fees for traveling outside of a certain area, which appealed to me because I was having a hard time finding pet sitters who didn’t charge extra fees. I would recommend Richard to anyone who is looking for a dependable pet sitter.

After having a horrible experience with our first walker in Bay Ridge we hired Richard. All I can say is, he’s great! He is upfront about his policies and prices, is professional, and is unbelievably accommodating to our schedules. He is great with our pup Dudley. Knowing he’s in good hands is such a relief while were away at work during the day. If you’re looking for a walker in the area I strongly suggest using Richard!

Rich is a great, reliable guy. He took great care of my puppy from when we got him at 2 months old until he was 6 months old. He played with him, cuddled him and picked up after him. He was a comfort to both my husband and me while we worked and the puppy was home.
If you need someone to care for your pet, talk to Rich. He has a very friendly and caring disposition that you can’t help but trust.

Richard has been working with us for the last few months. We have a puppy, so training her to walk on leash has been a chore and Richard is great. I have a weird schedule and am not super consistent with him but he is so accommodating and is always there when we need him (with notice of course). He only does single walks and my dog is always happy and rested when I get home. I highly recommend him!

Richard is a great pet sitter. I have absolute trust in him to care for our cat — to feed him at the times we’ve requested, to check the litter box, and to try to play with our (very shy) cat during each visit. He’s even come through for us at the last minute, and he always keeps us updated on how the visits went. I highly recommend Bklyn Petsitter!

We are extremely happy and comfortable with having Richard take care of our dog while my fiancé and I are at work. He is very reliable and genuinely cares for our pet. Richard is kind and dependable and offers individual sessions unlike other walkers. In addition, he sends a brief follow up text message describing time spent with our pet after every session. We are very grateful to have found him and highly recommend his service.

I had a very short time in where I needed to find someone to care for my cats. Richard was nice enough to have his friend Sal service my needs. I had to go on a business trip to Vegas where I needed 3 days of cat care. 25 dollars a day is what I was charged. It was a bit higher than what other people were quoting but I figured it would be worth it what with the rave reviews.
I got home today at 7:30am from a red eye flight with zero sleep. All I wanted was to come home to my healthy well kept cats and pass out.
I get home to find the following:
–NO WATER!!! I have one of those pint water bowls where it refills the water the kitties drink. EMPTY, after I was told it would be refilled daily.
–Litter EVERYWHERE, last thing I want to come home to…
–A random roll of toilet paper on top of my fridge… now I am thinking… WTF is going on in my apt?
–An entire roll of paper towels… GONE. Again… WTF is going on in my apt?
–I was told I would get pictures and texts daily of my cats. I got NO pictures and only TWO texts… I was having them come by for 3 days. So if you are a loving pet owner like me you would probably be thinking to yourself, «Did he even show up?»
So I call Sal to say «Hey dude, WTF?!?» All he can say is «Sorry»
So then I call Richard the OWNER, who needs a customer service course pronto. And a Business course ASAP. He tells me to talk to Sal about my issues all I can respond with is, «You are the owner, YOU talk to Sal.»
He then wanted to go through every issue one by one to ‘address’ them. Hey did you guys know ‘addressing an issue’ meant telling me I am a liar? Yeah neither did I…
After a ton of back and forth and Richard telling me to stop yelling and then HE in turn yells at me, I decided the best thing to do is to hang the heck up and vow to never use them ever the hell again. And if you are smart, you won’t use him either. What a joke!

Richard is great. I was very nervous about finding a cat sitter because my cat is very attached to me and needs lots of attention. I have never used a cat sitter and I have had my cat Felix for five years. I finally had to hire a cat sitter and I couldn’t be happier with Richard. Before I went away, Richard came to my apartment to meet Felix and me and I was immediately put at ease by his gentle and caring nature.
As for the visits (I do 2 a day), Richard does exactly what I ask, and the best part is that he texts at every visit to let me know how Felix is doing. I have used Richard twice so far and I will definitely be using him in the future.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Bklyn Petsitter is the best dog walking service I’ve ever used. I love that he never does group walks, which makes me feel extremely comfortable leaving my dog in his care. When we use Richard, we always do a 30 minute visit. When we first met Richard, I told him that my dog doesn’t usually walk for 30 minutes at a time. He immediately suggested that he do a 15 minute walk and a 15 minutes of play at our apartment. My dog loves her 15 minute walk with Richard and she loves playing ball with Richard during the last 15 minutes. Richard also always refreshes her water bowl and feeds her if we need him to.
If you’re looking for someone who will take care of your pet the way you would, I strongly suggest Bklyn Petsitter.

I started using BKLYN Pet Sitter earlier this year after a prior dog walker (of not that long) did not work out so well! Richard, the owner of BKLYN Pet Sitter suggested he come to our apartment, meet us and set up a up trial walk before using his service. I really appreciated this! Richard lives in a surrounding neighborhood which makes it easy for him to get to my apartment. Since the beginning my communication with him has been seamless! Richard comes twice a week, always arrives between the expected time I need him to be there, gives our animals fresh water + food before he leaves and texts me immediately after! I can not express how helpful the text message is! When I get home from work the dog has more energy on the days he lets her out! She runs at me full speed. He also feeds the cat. If I need a walk to be changed on to a specific day (with a day or two notice) he has always been helpful and accommodating. I can honestly say that Richard has been dependable, professional, friendly, honest and everything I have had hoped and I am so thankful for this! His references prior to using his service were outstanding, his rates are reasonable and I would recommend his services.

Maybe you’re more organized than we are but we were caught in an emergency soon after a move to a new neighborhood, without cat care when we needed to rush out of town. We spent a stressful afternoon searching and eventually took a chance on BKLYN Petsitter. If you’re in the same boat, stop looking. Richard is great.
Richard (the sole sitter, despite the corporate-​sounding name) is easygoing but also professional. It’s a comforting combination and one that we appreciated after a couple of earlier attempts with more well-​meaning but gypsy-​like sitters. We’re cautious, maybe even a little paranoid, about who we give apartment keys to but within five minutes of meeting him, felt reassured. We’ve had no hesitations about leaving him alone in our home since our return that first week to an apartment that was exactly as we’d left it. In our opinion, he is incredibly trustworthy.
It’s been two years and Richard’s sat for our cats almost a dozen times — often at the last minute because we’re so bad at planning ahead. Sometimes it’s been for one night, others a week or more. We have no complaints, so finally got off our asses to leave a review.
Despite being skittish and a nervous wreck when we returned from trips using other sitters, our one persistently neurotic cat has thrived under his care. She’s usually lounging on the ottoman when we return, instead of hiding behind the desk and needing to be coaxed out. The other cat was on a medical regimen for months with as many as 3 different meds taken various ways and at different times. No problem for Richard. On return, our cats have always been healthy, clean, sociable, and remarkably relaxed.
Richard’s laid-​back persona reassured us when we first met him and carries over to his behavior with our beasts, who treat him like one of the family now. He’s kind to them, competitively priced, always there when we need him, cleans the litterbox, and can be trusted with our keys. Seriously, stop looking.

Richard has been a reliable, professional and caring cat sitter for me for the last year and made my transition to a new job in a new city much less stressful.
Whenever I need to travel, I can do so with the confidence that my cat is well cared for. Richard sends a text or email after each visit and I when I come home, the litter box is clean and the food and water full and he communicates when he will not be available well in advance. Overall, very professional and courteous.
As as for the care itself, when I first moved here I tried using a dog walker to pet sit for me, but he just didn’t have a connection with cats. Richard does. You can tell right away.
