This slightly offensively-named Chinese takeout is conveniently located right off my subway stop, yet I had never entertained the prospect of venturing inside. That is until I impulsively looked up the restaurant on Unilocal one day after work and decided to take my chances. I’m glad I did. Pros: — Inexpensive — Large portions — Friendly staff — Convenient location — «Healthy section»(steamed/boiled with reduced/no sodium and oil) Cons: — Slightly too oily — Unappealing exterior and interior I ordered a pint of chicken noodles($ 6) which was below the $ 10 credit card minimum, yet they gladly accepted my card. I’m excited to go back!

Went here for lunch today. Got the Orange Chicken lunch special with Pork Fried Rice and an Egg Roll — pretty standard Chinese food lunch. Ready for pickup in 10 mins. Big, massive Egg Roll with plenty of filling, but you could taste and see so much oil that it was just… well, disgusting. The bottom bit was literally dripping oil before I couldn’t stomach any more. I just tasted the oil above everything else in there… not appetizing in any way. But the rest of the meal was quite good. Fried rice wasn’t greasy, and had good non fatty chunks of pork in there. Rice was a bit bland otherwise, but hey, its rice, kinda par for the course. Orange chicken was great, plenty of meat, and plenty of veggies I usually don’t see in ‘orange’ dishes. Well done. Lastly price and portions — low price, huge portions! Whole meal cost me $ 5.95, and I ate about a third of it. You could split a lunch special with a co-worker from this place, no problem. I was going to give this place 3 stars because they effed up the egg roll, but everything else was quite good, and a little unique to this place, and you can’t beat the price and portions. And yeah, thats a pretty racist name for a Chinese food place… but I assume thats just a little«engrish» mistake.

Excellent food for small takeout Chinese restaurant. Good prices, large portions, and quick as long as they’re not too busy. I would have rated it 4 stars but every time I order delivery it takes way too long, as in sometimes over an hour. I only live a block away. I know I’m being lazy, but it shouldn’t take an hour. If you go in or order pickup it usually only takes about 15 minutes.

This place was recommended to us by the front desk guy at our hotel(Best Western Plus Prospect Park). They’re super fast and the food is awesome.

On their paper menu they have no name. Just a bigass«A» certification from the sanitation department so I call this place«A» even though it’s called Taste of Oriental which I have a hard time saying without wincing. Good deal for the area and as far as corner Chinese goes it’s not too bad and I stop by here once a week when I don’t feel like trekking up the slope to one of the other places near 7th or 6th ave. I’m not even a little Asian and I find the name kinda wtf. I’m also convinced that almost every«Chinese» restaurant in the five boroughs are probably owned by the same three people because they are completely interchangeable.

This is your typical corner Chinese take-out. The things that separate it are: 1. The slightly offensive name 2. Large portions. A pint is almost equivalent of a quart in most other take-out joints, with the price of the usual pint(i.e. eat for under $ 5 bucks, if you order something like chicken chow fun! fun!). I can get over #1, so it’ll probably be a neighborhood regular there(at least until I finish settling in my new apartment and start cooking).

This is a crap restaurant serving crappier food only worthwhile in a pinch when you’ve got nothing else to eat and would lie awake all night in a semi-comatose state of semi-starvation. Everything is sub-par. The egg rolls have a suspiciously fecal taste. The flavors amongst items are the same: gooey and a bit salty. Nearly everything is deep fried. Lord have mercy.

I’ve been comin here every few days and i JUST learned the name of the place. These are the kinds of takeout places i am a fan of. looks pretty shady like the family who works there lives there and i love refrigerators that never have anything in them. Decent and cheap chinese food. Get some crispy duck or some wonton soup and youll get full for 7 bucks. The best part is when you walk in to this staff and they play the whole timid asian thing while taking your order, then right as you finish saying what you want, the girl behind the counter screams at the chef who is 3 feet away. yay.

i’m guilty — i’m a fan of dirty chinese take-out — this place — not bad — not bad at all — very fresh — very typical. great hot and sour soup. more crunchy fortune cookies than you can eat. free soda. pretty decent dirty chinese take-out. from tonight’s cookie batch: 1. truth seeks and finds the light of day. 2. always remember where you are going and never forget where you’ve been. 3. always, always practice humility. 4. at the touch of love, everyone becomes a poet. 5. change is happening in your life, so go with the flow.
