Excellent lunch special(lots of food, tasty, cheap), great summer atmosphere. Extra sauces a nice touch as well.

They make a solid burrito here and have a pretty attractive and popular weekend brunch. I feel like the guac is a little more limey than I prefer, but I like the guys who work the counter and the food is always fresh and always hits the spot. Cash only.

I had to see what the rave was about this place, so I decided to come for Cinco de Mayo. A bit outdated and very crowded. Their selection of food is limited. I chose the burrito deluxe with chicken. Best burrito, I have ever tasted so far. I thought no one would be Benny’s Burritos/Blockheads. Seasoning is great and thank goodness the burrito doesn’t fall apart. The pitchers of margaritas def do the job. I gave it 4 stars because they need at least one more server. 2 servers working on cinco de mayo is not a brilliant idea. It made them look like they were running around like a chicken without its head. When ordering a second round of food, waitress didn’t make eye contact and seemingly wanted us to hurry with our order. Other than that 2 hrs later when business slowed down, she paid more attention to the patrons and was more relaxed. Poor thing, I felt her pain.

Taqueria De Los Muertos– Deliciouso! Oneof the best taco in the city, fresh, big servings, generous amount of filling, so satisfying! Deluxe chicken is popular in this place, my one of faves to. The margarita here is surprisingly inexpensive yet good. Make sure to try them.

They may not be as trendy as the other places around. You may not find people with oddly groomed facial hair or an unearthly outfit. But, this place has the best nachos hands down. Better then any of the other many newer, hipster-ier Mexican places that seem to be popping up in this neighborhood. The nachos are layered with cheese(not just the sprinkle on top you get across the street), and mixed with homemade black beans, jalapenos and other toppings you chose. The meats are fresh from the grill and everything blends in to one decedent(I know how to spell decadent – it was a pun on the name, OK?) oily deliciousness. It’s the real deal.

One of the best mexican cheap mexican spots I’ve had in NYC. The chicken and steak have a great charred/grilled flavor, and they have a legit salsa bar with 4 different fresh salsas. And the chips are fresh made which makes all the difference.

Great Mexican food at a decent price. I loved everything about my steak burrito, I went home feeling satisfied and not bloated like a whale. I can’t wait to come back. The only downside is its cash only so make sure you have cash on you.

Been here a few times a while back and since then, shits dun changed. I am a taco technician and I was less then please. Just don’t bother with the chicken, pork was okay. Guac was run of the mill. Margaritas and their salsa verde haven’t changed thou. Still all the salsa verde in the world isn’t hiding the weakness of that poor pollo. This place isn’t too old and it has bad appeal for my eyeball to stomach encouragement.

Lunch special is huge portion of food. I loved the tostada salad. The mustard vinegaret was great. The burrito was missing the beans but was still super filling.

Mediocre Mexican fare for a great price! Never too packed save for cinco de mayo! Still would recommend if you’re in search of cheap margaritas and good portion sizes!

A laid back atmosphere with good food and excellent guacamole. However, I have to give it 3 stars because 1) the menu is very limited 2) our waiter was very sweet, but too stoned to provide attentive service and 3) the chips were almost too stale to eat I will certainly go back and give it another try, hopefully they won’t be out of pork this time :)

Solid place that serves up a tastey and hearty plate of nachos. Plus, their margarita pitchers are delicious. I like how it has a casual atmosphere too. Thoroughly enjoyed it and will be back.

This is my official favorite taco joint. I always get the deluxe chicken taco, it comes with everything, and has never failed to impress. I have ordered other items from the menu which are just as great. This is not a 5 star restaurant or a date night restaurant but it gives you consistently great food when you need it. Now on to the all day margarita special… Its really good. I wouldn’t say it’s an authentic margarita but its really good for $ 4 a glass or $ 12 a pitcher. If you are looking for no frills, I just want to eat and have a drink, this is your place!

First off, I don’t complain that much but this is a special occasion that really has rubbed me the wrong way. I don’t normally write reviews on this type of situation but I feel compelled to. We just called in for delivery — didn’t think much of it because we literally live five minutes away… If that. But for some reason they only deliver to 1 block east of us. It’s not like they’re a chain so typically in that situation where it’s so close, a good company would send the driver and charge more for delivery and we’d generously tip. We offered to pay an extra delivery charge(even though that’s kinda ridiculous considering we could walk there in 15 – 20 minutes!!!). They were totally against an extra delivery charge to go one block over. [I just had to clear this up; by saying one block East, I’m being very generous about the distance] I get it — but really the point of this is: EXPANDYOURDELIVERYZONE. How small could it possibly be that you don’t deliver a five minute drive away but every restaurant in your area does??? And I want to make it perfectly clear, if we really did live far away I would NOT be complaining. A zone is a zone. But in this case… Uhhhh how is it THAT small?! At the very least act the driver — or pretend to — pretend you give a shit! Your food isn’t that good to warrant me coming back any time soon. Our order would have totaled well over $ 50; that’s a sale lost over barely a block. Petty. What is it about NYC that makes half of these restaurants so damn lazy?! That’s pure laziness — plain and simple.

Been here a couple times. They have great burritos and a relaxed vibe if you choose to eat in. They can open up the windows in nice weather for some al fresco dining! Decently close to the CA mexican I miss so much.

My motto is usually to not to write a review until I have visited a location at least twice and tried a couple of things. Anyway… I went to this restaurant yesterday evening and there were six people in the place, mind you it was the most packed place on the block though… I really didn’t know that Washington Ave is such a ghost town. We ordered a sangria and a margarita as we not hungry. The margarita was on the weak side but one can’t complain when a drink is $ 4. The sangria though had a weird flavor to it. It tasted like it had lychee poured in it. Drinking it and the flavor made me so paranoid about not knowing what had been put it or how long the mix had been sitting that I didn’t finish the drink… The deco was casual and those who were eating it seemed to enjoy it. So final verdict is I will not return for a sangria ever. The margaritas are so affordable and you can buy a pitcher for $ 12-$ 15 that it may be worth it. Short story is go for the food not to drink.

Came here for brunch this past Saturday and I would like to announce that i’ve joined the mob of fans. It was a great experience. My server, forgive me as I forgot his name(blame it on those tasty mimosas), was very attentive and friendly. I ordered the Steak & eggs dish(Each brunch entrée came witha free bloody mary, mimosa, juice or coffee/tea) and a lovely mimosa(the glasses are huge!!!). The steak was to-die-for juicy. It came out a lovely medium-rare and was just perfect. They provide generous portions(although my greedy behind wanted more). The eggs were lovely too. I got mine scrambled and fluffy(none of that runny stuff). I also got a fish taco! The taco was very good and they even came with about 3 big pieces. The ingredients were well-balanced and complimented the taco very well. I cant wait to order food and beome a regular:) I am moving to the neighborhood(and is the reason why i was there on Saturday) and cant wait to make this spot my new go-to! Thanks guys:)

I’ve passed this place so many times and never went in but as soon as I see some reviews of their nachos, I’m sold. Went in on a Tuesday afternoon so it was pretty empty. Got my nachos to go very quickly. I was pretty impressed with the array of beans to choose from(3). I went with the Red. The nachos? Bomb! I didn’t get any meat or veg fillers but everything else. It remained warmish throughout. The toppings were evenly distributed and fresh. I’m content.
