I have to say that if anyone wants to learn salsa on2 in a fun environment, Salsa Salsa is the place to go. Absolutely love the classes and the instructors, like Joseph and Andy, are great. Like that they make the guys dance in a way that’s considerate to the ladies. Also, love that after 3 months you basically get a free class during the week which gives you more practice and good dance experience with more advanced students. Also, every 1^st wed of the month is a partner turn pattern class at night. This place is so much fun that even in really bad weather the students still make it to class. I’ve been to 3 dance studios over the years and this one is the best. Unfortunately I had to stop going because I really want to improve my salsa on1. But will definitely return to Salsa Salsa once I’ve reached that goal.

Awesome Dane studio. I only wish it was bigger. My husband and I signed up for salsa lessons here and we learned quite a lot. Of courses these moves must be practiced often so due to our lack of this needed practice we must have forgotten it all, but the place did it job. The instructor we had was really good, and not too hard to follow. Because we took a Sunday weekend class our sessions would be often times packed, but it never felt cluster phobic. They even have extra dancer men (usually) to dance with clients who have no partners due to odd partnering for shared dances. I would definitely sign up again if I had the time. They aren’t too badly priced either.

Second time here and loving it. Andy is such a great instructor who will work with you at the level you’re comfortable with. If you’re not comfortable dancing with other people don’t force yourself because you can always dance with a friend or gf/​bf during the whole class if you like. Can’t wait till next time

As a complete newbie to the world of Salsa dancing (well, dancing in general) I decided it was time to take the plunge and sign up for lessons. I dragged a girlfriend of mine to the first class five weeks ago and we’ve been hooked ever since. The studio is always very clean and the staff is super friendly. Our instructor, Andy, is fantastic; very patient and helpful. His classes are fun, upbeat, and he always makes sure that everyone in the class is right on track. I HIGHLY recommend this place.

I started going last week with one of my girlfriends. It’s a lot of fun with a lot to learn. Couples, single, it doesn’t matter. I highly recommend it. Instructor (s) are great and very helpful.

I started dancing salsa over a year ago and have been taking classes at this studio for just over a month. I’m really enjoying it. All of the instructors are great and the people are very welcoming. I really like the set curriculum, as it means that you are going to really learn the moves rather than having the instructor make something up on the spot that you may never see again. At the same time, it’s great that there are 6 (I think) different instructors who all bring their own style. I also appreciate that there are several classes that have lasted over a year, so you don’t have to worry that your class will get cancelled and there won’t be one at your level. At my level, there are many classes at the intermediate level to take, which has been nice. The place seems really well-​run and is a great place to learn salsa in a friendly environment. I’d definitely recommend this studio to anyone who wants to learn to dance salsa.

Okay, but anyway, been going here for about a year now and frankly, everyone here is just AWESOME. The instructors are incredible dancers and teachers, the students are friendly and eager to learn, and the *free* socials are alwayssssss poppin’. This place is also made for all levels of dancers. For newbies, instructors will break down every step and for advanced students, they’ll have special workshops (like ladies styling) and instructors will create their own turn patterns. Yay! Moreover, shoutout to the owners, Jose and Marcus, for creating a family. Double yay!
Just also wanted to mention that this studio has a low attrition rate as a result of its awesomeness and it’s probably one of the best valued (in terms of $$$) studio.
Dude, what are you waiting for? Get money, get paid, and get yo dance onnnnnnn.

I have been taking salsa classes at Salsa Salsa Dance Studio studio since September. I wouldn’t necessarily describe myself as a person with «two left feet» as dancing has been a passion of mine ever since I could put one foot in front of the other, however, I’d never taken Salsa before and wondered how I’d fare. Three months in and I’m spinning, whirling, twirling, styling and jiving at the socials and weekly events.
It’s addicting.
Salsa Salsa has become a second home, an extended family and the highlight of my week. I just can’t get enough. If you’re looking for a studio where the people are passionate, approachable and exceptional at teaching you to dance, then Salsa Salsa Dance Studio is your place. It’s definitely mine!

The guys here let me graciously step into a class that was already 3 months in progress.
I’m an old school street Salsa dancer so I already knew the basics.
Marcus was very patient and an excellent instructor. I was able to keep up most of the time that’s how thorough his instructions and demonstrations were.
I will return to finally learn Mambo.

I know the owners personally and since I’ve meet them, they’ve been nothing short of wonderful to work with.

I’ve taken a few of the ladies styling classes here and really enjoyed them. The girl that teaches them (I can’t remember her name) is very friendly, a great dancer (of course!) and an excellent teacher. She does a great job breaking down the steps and building confidence.
I’ve been to a number of the free Friday salsa socials, and they can be fun, but it gets SUPER crowded (and hot!) and it’s mostly students and beginner dancers so it’s not the best place if you are an intermediate/​advanced dancer and looking for other dancers at your level.

Pros:
–Friendly crowd, that sometimes wants to hang out after, one you can make friends with.
–Great Instructors
–Spacious Studio
Cons:
–No A.C./Poor Ventilation
–Socials are Free (the con is that because they are free, it gets jam packed, and I don’t like that, that’s why I don’t attend them)

You will not find better prices anywhere in NYC. I went a few years back and I enjoyed it.
Marcus is one of the BEST instructors. Jose and Andy are great as well. Classes do get packed and it can get really hot, but you’re there to sweat anyway.
It’s not as structured as other salsa schools but it’s definitely not ghetto. You will learn the foundations and have fun doing it!

This place has a lot of filtered reviews for some reason, although most of the ones I checked seemed to be accurate.
I have been coming there for a few months. Have taken salsa in other schools as well so have some basis for comparison. This is a really friendly and convenient place to take salsa classes. If your goal is to be able to dance comfortably at socials they will get you up to speed in no time. The studio itself is fairly large and conveniently located. Classes can get pretty crowded, but that’s due to their popularity. There is always a good ratio of leaders and followers. Instructors are thorough and will patiently explain any shine/​pattern. More importantly, classes are always fun, which makes it easier to learn. There are free socials at the studio twice a month and paid events in other venues for special occasions (e. g. holidays), and a very competitive pricing structure. You can advance at your own rate by taking more or less challenging classes.
They take credit cards and use a swipeable keycard to mark attendance, which is really convenient. The studio is near a major transportation hub and there is parking on the streets nearby.
All in all I can’t think of any negatives.

I’ve been going here for about 8 months, however, my main Salsa studio is Mambo-​D in midtown Manhattan. I come here twice a week because it’s close to where I live and it’s good practice.
Classes are 2 hours, with the 1^st hour devoted to «shines» and the 2^nd hour devoted to partnerwork. Male/​female ratio is usually good. When it does tip towards more men or women, it’s only by a small amount.
If you look down the Unilocal page, you’ll see filtered reviews which usually indicate bogus accounts were used to artificially inflate a business’s rating. HOWEVER THIS IS WRONG. The filtered reviews are NOT bogus. I am friends with two people whose reviews were filtered and verified they were not bogus reviews. I reported the falsely filtered reviews to Unilocal,but Unilocal isn’t un-​filtering them. Boo!
The biggest problem is the class size. I’d say that *most* of the bad things I have to say about this studio are related to the huge classes. Given the room size, they ought to have a hard max of 35 people, as in, if a 36^th student walks in, they should apologize and say that the class is full. At 30, you’re cramped and searching for a spot to dance. I’ve seen a class with 40+ people, and that was intolerable.
Another problem is the heat, which is related to class size. When it’s 80 °F and humid, a room with 35 dancers is going to get very uncomfortable. The fan is an absolute blessing and they *should* have another one installed! They just installed central A/​C and we’re going to be experiencing it for the first time today; we’ll see how well it works!
I’ve had 4 instructors: Joseph, Kelly, Noël and Andy. Joseph, Kelly, and Noël are great instructors. Joseph and Kelly always ask the class if there’s anything people want to review. Because the classes are over-​full, they can’t look at individuals too closely, however, if they notice that the class is screwing something up they’ll stop the class and say «Hey, guys! We need to review that!». Music starts off slow and picks up in the first hour. Occasionally I thought the music played was inappropriately fast for a learning environment. Kelly sometimes plays «new» Salsa, which I find not conducive for dancing (and not conducive for listening, either).
One comment for Andy: There is no need to play an hour’s worth of fast Salsa songs for a beginner’s class. It is counter-​productive for your students. Your class needs to be working on their «body movement memory» and making their dancing «tight». Practice. Repetition. Perfection. You can’t work on that if all you ever do is dance at 190+ bpm. This is Salsa dancing, not a weight loss class. Yes, one or two fast songs are helpful to impress on newbies that fast music means taking small steps. But an hour’s worth? Not necessary and not fun.
Instruction is done slowly with an emphasis on repetition, so even if you’re a «dancing dummy» like I used to be, you will almost certainly do well here. Anybody can learn Salsa here, guaranteed.
Another strength of Salsa Salsa is the structured learning environment. They have a syllabus of shines posted in front of the room, and a list of turn patterns in the back. These lists are available on the school’s website so you can track your progress and practice at home. Nice touch.
Yet another strength of Salsa Salsa is that it’s fun (except Andy’s class). The atmosphere is laid back and mostly friendly. There are a few bad eggs, but you can’t hold Salsa Salsa accountable for a few people who don’t smile or act friendly. The majority of people are wonderful, and I’ve made some great friends here.
I wish Salsa Salsa focused a bit more on individual dance style, but again, this is difficult in group classes, and would be impossible because of the class size. While you’ll learn to dance a competent Salsa dance quickly, I noticed that people tend to look similar. Women tend to over-​style, men tend to not style at all. Instruction tends towards one size fits all and as far as I can tell, they don’t active discourage the mindset that there’s a right and wrong way of doing things, and if you’re wrong, you must stop dancing and do over.
There are bi-​monthly socials which unfortunately tend to be a tad over-​crowded.
In summary, I think this is a fantastic quick-​and-​dirty way to get onto the dance floor in record time. This dance studio is light-​years better than, say, Eddie Torres’ studio, however, there is room for improvement, and if the owner addresses this, Salsa Salsa has all the elements of being a top notch studio.

I’m a lil bias when it comes to this place b/​c my favorite salsero is one of the owners here.
My 1^st & only salsa instructor for about 2yrs Marcus Gonzalez has the best salsa studio ever! This place is all about fun while teaching one of the best dances EVER!
If you have never danced a day in your life you will still enjoy it, they will help you through every step. Or If you’re like myself and came out the womb doing a lil jig they have advance classes that will keep you excited and moving.
I haven’t been in classes due to that thing we all sometimes have to do .WORK, but any chance I get to squeeze in a class I’m so here. If I can squeeze in a class taught by Marcus I’m even happier!!!

Last, but not least, it’s the best deal in town for learning to mambo ‘on 2′!
Note: The first few classes for a beginner are indeed very crowded BUT usually around half of those who start, do not get past the 3^rd week. So by the second month, the class size is just fine!

This salsa dance studio is conveniently located near Atlantic Mall Center close to the soon to come Barclay Center. It has offered an enriched experience dancing salsa on 2. The instructors are experienced, enthusiastic and motivating towards all the salsa students. There’s a sense of family within the school especially when students and guests get together for regularly scheduled dance socials and special events. Two thumbs up for Salsa Salsa Dance Studio.

I have been dancing at this studio for over a year now and they are exceptional. I previously had no experience with Latin dance, and now I am comfortable going to any salsa club in NYC to dance.
The studio teaches only New York-​style ON2 mambo. All of the instructors are friendly and excellent teachers. In particular, I recommend Ray, Jose, and Marcus.
