Great prices on fish. Salmon was $ 10.99 a pound at the fish market down the road and even more expensive at the grocery store. I found it here for $ 8.99 a pound. Staff is friendly. I will definitely return.

Full disclosure — I have never physically been in this store. I order fish from Raskins over the phone to have it delivered to me on the Upper West Side, paying with my credit card. Each time I’ve received extremely fresh fish prepared and packed exactly the way I want. I usually order a whole salmon cut into dinner-size(rather than appetizer-size) pieces, and wrapped in various combinations to stick into my freezer. Their per-pound prices are the CHEAPEST I’ve seen anywhere! I’ve also order flounder and tilapia filets as well as loaves of gefilte fish which arrives semi-frozen. This is much better than buying gefilte fish in solid frozen logs from the market, which you don’t know how long they’ve been sitting in the freezer. BTW — they make gefilte fish with or without sugar, so it’s nice to have a choice. For special occasions I’ve ordered matjas herring and smoked trout — yum! Definitely an important resource if you’re a fish-eating family.

This place sells good fresh fish. I highly recommend the schmaltz herring. My only gripe is that the place is dirty and hasn’t been remodeled since the 70’s. Also, they don’t even try to air the place out from the strong fish smell. Good fish just an awful shopping experience.

Raskin Fish comes along way from the 1960’s. With fresh selected kosher fish daily and a line of national disturbed fish product. Raskin and Sons provides good local and national kosher & fresh sea food.

This fish market is perfect! The prices are great and the fish is fresh. They can their own tuna! Staff was also helpful in recommending recipes and cooking methods. The selection is huge — farm raised and wild caught. As an environmentalist — I care deeply about knowing where my seafood comes from. I’m not kosher — but even if I found a decent market that sold shellfish — I would still come here for their quality, selection, and friendly service.

Brooklyn company delivers fresh fish on Wednesday evenings and charges less than elsewhere. We, in Manhattan, have used them for years with no complaints. No shellfish(lobster, clams, crabs) because it’s kosher.
