Normally, the mani/​pedis here are excellent. Not today. I’m not sure what was goin on with my nail tech today but the paint job on my hands was terrible! So bad that my fiancé noticed & suggested I take a pic and post it to Unilocal!
Really bummed and would have complained but I had a doctor’s appointment right after

I really enjoy coming to Polish nails to get mani pedis and back massages. Depending on who you get to do your nails, the experience will be different. In the past I’ve had a few ladies who rushed doing my nails and ended up not happy with the outcome. After giving this place a few tries, I discovered Lina, who is excellent. She takes her time and is very delicate with her massages. The salon is also very clean and has upgraded to more comfortable chairs for manicures.

The quality of the gel manicure and regular pedicure I got here was just terrible. I should have known something was up because all the gel manicure bottles were off-​brand. My pedicure chipped after a few days (fine, it happens), but then the mani started disintegrating. By day 5, all of the gel had peeled off. That’s never happened to me before. In short, there are about 20 nail places in a 10-​block radius so I will not be returning to Polish. Shame because they are nice people.

I received a gift certificate for Christmas for Polish Nail Spa. I decided to use it on 3÷26÷16 to get a Manicure and Pedicure, and since it was my boyfriend’s birthday I had him come along and purchased him a Mani/​Pedi so he could get a little pampering as well. When we arrived the place had 4 other patrons being serviced. It was Easter weekend so the business was slow. I was pleased because I figured we could really sit back and enjoy without that rushed feeling you can sometimes get when a salon is busy. How wrong I was! While we were both seated into pedicure chairs immediately, our mani/pedi’s combined were no more than 16 minutes before we were done and paying. The experience was unfriendly, rushed and incomplete.
I couldn’t figure out what the urgency in getting done was from the staff. The place was virtually empty. My cuticles during both my Mani/​Pedi were barely pushed back and trimmed. So much so that you could still see that they were brittle after the manicure. The pedicure had zero massage, she put lotion on and that was it. Not even a 60 second leg rub. They were dismissive if you say no to any additional services and even try to sell you a pedicure massage. This was by far the worst Mani/​Pedi I have gotten. They charged me $ 5 extra to buff out my BF’s nails meanwhile last I checked to smooth the top of the nail bed is part of the regular manicure. Once they saw I had a gift certificate they kept asking if I wanted the $ 40 spa pedicure and I repeatedly said no thank you. I opted out of getting my nails polished because I was so disappointed I just wanted to leave. I didn’t want to make a fuss because it was my BFs birthday and I wanted to keep things light. I would not recommend this place. The service was horrible. I’m glad because of my gift certificate I didn’t have to pay for my nails, but was sad I had to even give them a cent for his. I give this place two unpolished nails DOWN.

Even with the change in ownership, the manicures are always great, the pedicures too and the chair massages can’t be beat for the price. The woman take really good care of you and I always feel like I’m in good hands.

Good nail place. I don’t think I would go out of my way for it, but with 100 options in like 5 blocks they are the best in the area.

Polish nail salon? More like chipped and cheap nail salon. Unfriendly staff always try to upsell your services and are immediately dismissive if you pass. The «basic» mani/​pedi barely has a massage… Enough to slather lotion on you and done. My nails look good for about 24 hours and that’s it. My pedi has been on for one month and looks like it’s been on for 4 months. Just say no!

They give you a very warm welcome! Its clean and the polish selection are great. However when a more frequent client’s manicurist is working with you they ask another worker to to finish your mani/​pedi not cool!

So I really like this place. Maybe I have super low expectations but they are very clean, have massage chairs and do a good job with the colours as well as payment before painting nails and drying time as well as cuticle oils just before leaving. Helping me put on my shoes as well before leaving. I had Ping do my polish for me and she even did the razor work to get rid of all the dead skin. She paid a lot of attention to detail too. And for 22 $ for a mani and a pedi you can’t go wrong really. I also like Doma, she is good. Pay cash, then you dont have to pay a couple of extra $$ for credit

If you can go to other place, do it. It’s not worth to go here just for the $ 22 mani pedi. I went yesterday and the lady who took care of me did it very poorly since I didn’t wanted to get the most expensive polish. No massage, no attention and worst, today my mani started to fall out. Don’t go there if you can help it.

I don’t get the bad ratings unless they are good good friends or family of the competitor next door… hmmmmmmnnn. I waited a week to review so I could tell you more about the quality of the gel polish. My nails look great, no chipping at all. Customer service was solid, everyone said hello, I was allowed to gaze at the wide variety of colors until I found something I liked. I found two beautiful Opi and Essie colors and was encourage to try on both by my manicurists.
The hand massage was everything.
I may have given five stars, however I’m seriously here for the manicure. My cuticles are dry and seriously disrespectful in this weather and I would have appreciated more detail and oil to my cuticles. Okay, okay, I admit I’m a diva. I said it. I own it. I claim it. I need my cuticles pampered.
However the customer service and over the top brand name and color selections are on fleek (Ebonics for really nice) will bring me back.

Mani pedi is now $ 22 and they charge $ 5 to remove gel unless you got it done there. Very organized though and short wait even when packed.

Don’t. Just don’t. Trust me. $ 22 will lure you… I’m telling you I’m not the girl that gets manis and pedis for the experience. I’m easy to please.
There’s a $ 25 place two doors down, Ill try there next time.

My nail polish chipped the next day –2 fingers, done.
They push their spa pedicure on you and they challenged my friend and I when we said no thank you.
I asked for plastic for my toes so the polish wouldn’t get ruined. Most places do oil then plastic. Nope, just plastic. They left my sneakers in front of me. But my fingernails weren’t dry. So… I had to sit and wait longer to make sure nails were dry.
Overall Pretty crappy manicure.
Tip — bring cash or pay $ 1 extra to use your card.

I went to this nail salon for a basic mani pedi. I always do the basic one so I know what they are supposed to do. But in this salon unless u spend $ 50-​$ 70 on your nails don’t expect a good mani pedi. If you compare the before and after pictures of my hands, the before pic might be better. They charge you $ 20 for basic mani pedi but it’s not even worth $ 1. The lady there took exactly 15 min for both so you can guess what a great job they did. Unfriendly staff does stuff like they are doing you a favor, except the guy who welcomes you in smiling. My friend had the same exact experience so it wasn’t just a bad day with me. Never going back even if they do it for free.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Came here with a friend so that we could get mani and pedis. The nail tech rushed… cut me 2x and didn’t even apologize. My card was also fraudently charged two different amounts ($ 53 and $ 79). Polish Nails is bad business and I just contacted my bank to disbute one of the transactions. Will not return here.

This place sucks, I felt rushed and the woman did a rushed job. Paint job was iffy and my cuticles were not fully cut. Do not come here.

Today I was DESPERATE for a manicure. I never go here anymore since the people are rude, so I go two doors down. It was closing time, so unfortunately my new normal place (and they are very nice, same price) couldn’t take me.
So in my desperation, I went back to Polish. The owner said something rude about me as I went to get my eyebrows done to another worker. The worker looked at me and laughed. Of course this was all in Chinese, but the new owner never says hi and always talks about me. So you know what? I am putting my money where my mouth is and I walked the f out.
I would rather pay five million dollars to get my manis, pedis, anything done rather than go here and pay their cheap price. Ladies, you are worth more than their unsanitary supplies and their rude comments.
I used to LOVE the old owner, I would even give $ 20 tips, so it is not that I am cheap that I get this treatment. I have no idea what it is.
They are just plain rude, do not know how to treat customers. I tell everyone not to come here, and I will never walk in ever again. I’d rather look like raggedy Ann than go here.

Stopped in here with my girlfriends since we were around the area for brunch. Although we did see the bad ratings on Unilocal.The price for mani and pedi was unbeatable ($ 20). We were immediately welcomed when we stepped in. There was a variety of nail colors to choose from. After we finished picking our colors, we were seated by the massage chairs.
I didnt get the name for the lady who worked on me. She did my pedi pretty quickly. She was offering us to check out their spa treatments and massages. We didnt feel pressured tho. I did notice they had a deal goin on for $ 5 off any 20+ min massages so i did get a 20 min full back massage for only $ 16. My pedi came out pretty alright – no complaints.
My mani was done alright – filing was pretty on point, cuticles were cut but not fully. One of my girlfriend’s told me the lady who worked on her actually cut only some of her cuticles on some fingers and others she left. My GF havent had her nails done in over a month so she knows she def needs her cuticles to be cut but i guess the person didn’t think that way.
I did have a nail that was startin to crack so she put glue to stick it together.
The massage was alright but felt like the chairs were not cleaned as they felt oily/​sticky.
By the time i got home, my nail that she attempted to fix by gluing it, had chipped even more so i ended up trimming that one nail.
Overall, the experience was okay – nothing spectacular. The work done was quick and moderate. I guess thats what u get for $ 20 mani and pedi.
But i dont plan to come back especially its not close to home.

If I could give this place a half star, I would.
I got a gel manicure and a regular pedicure with a friend of mine, who received the same services. First, my nail technician didn’t even let me look at the colors for the gel manicure for more than 30 seconds or so, yet my friend was given ample time to choose her colors. My friend also had gel on her hands already and it took more time to take her nail polish off since they had to soak her fingers in acetone, yet she was treated in a calm and proper manner. Our pedicures were rushed, but came out fine. The manicure on the other hand was the worst manicure experience I’ve ever had in my life.
The woman first pushed my cuticles back without even soaking them, then proceeded to butcher three of my fingers to the point of pain and blood oozing from my cuticles. She then tried to justify herself by saying that my cuticles were too far up my nail and she NEEDED to do it. As I got the UV light placed on my butchered hand, it felt like fire on my fingers. The pain that I feel now is completely mind boggling, and I am now forced to spray my wounds with antibacterial spray, to ensure that I don’t get some infection.
My friend’s manicure and pedicure experience were fine and her only complaint was the rushed pedicure service. To top it off, we both paid with our cards, but she was charged $ 42 and I was charged $ 43. Whether that was a typo or not, it was surely the icing on my experience and I am NEVER going back there. I’m not sure if it was a race thing (I’m a woman of color and my friend is white with blonde hair and light eyes) or the particular woman that did my nails, but I am disgusted with this establishment and they will never get another dime from me.
SAVE YOURSELF! Go somewhere else if you don’t want bleeding/​butchered cuticles!

From the second I walked in this woman was rushing me to pick a color and sit down. The entire pedicure was less than 5 minutes (supported by time stamps on text messages I was sending my friend). When she filed my nails it was back and forth once on each toe. Cuticles were the same.
When I said it was the fastest pedicure I’ve ever gotten, she replied with «Well, spa pedicures are longer so get a spa pedicure next time.»
Because I was NOT about to get my nails done by this woman, I ended up paying $ 15 for a 5-​minute pedicure.
I made some other comments about how she got polish all over my toe and how it was a bad pedicure and she was clearly talking about me to the other women.
There are SO many places in the area where a $ 20 mani-​pedi is standard and you get treated like a person. Don’t be fooled by the little massage they try and give you while your nails are drying. This place sucks and you’re treated like cargo — get in and get out.
Born and raised in BK, I’ve never had such a terrible pedicure experience. From one girl to another, don’t waste your money!
