Underrated gallery that’s hidden in plain sight. Enjoyed my visit to see the variety work from multiple artists for the idiom I exhibit.

Outstanding gallery. Stimulating program — risky but not stupid. New exciting fresh. Friendly director and staff. Good space, with one big gallery, one small gallery, and the fascinating Flat Files(which are also online). Good support of other outside venues and exhibitions, good crew at receptions, and a long solid history. On the down side, hmm, not as sparkling clean as Gagosian or Boone.

I like this art space, and they always seem to have some cool stuff on display. Tonight for the Williamsburg After parties, the galleries were all open until 10pm. A nice way to spend Saturday night, low key, and chill. The stuff on display tonight were various mappings of historical stuff. One was a mapping of science fiction, as a sort of octopus type creature, with colored arms representing size and shape of various threads of science fiction genre. Another was a similar type of creature but this time representing the history of modern religions, from various christian sects, to judaism, islam, buddhism, and various cults thrown in for good measure. Interesting.

Pierogi is without a doubt my favorite Art Gallery in Williamsburg! Their art data base is a wonderful resource of highly talented creative souls. In my eyes there is no greater gift than sharing the passion and insight of others. Exhibitions I’ve attended are always well executed and interesting, setting a standard for the neighborhood. Overall the Pierogi is professional, accessible, and resourceful. They are all this and made one on one time to provide me with commercial submission guidance. Thank you!!!

My favorite williamsburg gallery. Neat space with room for 2 artists to be featured. Consistently interesting shows that run the gamut. The first time I went was to see a show of t-shirt designs during the 2004 presidential elections, now I try to go every month or so and haven’t yet been disappointed.

This was my favorite gallery today. We saw Jonathan Demme, who was being shown the space by the owner, I gather. Right now, they’re showing two exhibits — one by Tony Fitzpatrick and one by Darina Karpov. Karpov’s somewhat soft paintings are in the back room, and Fitzpatrick’s work dominates the front. Fitzpatrick is amazing. His artwork combines a love of Chicago history, a taste of noir bohemia, and found images and text, combining matchbook covers with other ephemera. When you first see the images, you think you get it in a general sense, but then you discover that each has text, as well. So you become more engaged. A smart show, but an awkward pairing. Wonder how consistent their tastes run!
