Description

Specialties

Peperoncino is an authentic Italian restaurant serving innovative southern Italian cuisine in the heart of Brooklyn’s Park Slope neighborhood. From our homemade pastas, ravioli and mozzarella to our famous wood-fired pizzas, every item at Peperoncino is made fresh with the highest quality ingredients available. We use primarily use organic ingredients, and try to buy locally when available. Dinner wouldn’t be complete without the perfect wine or beer, so our full bar boasts plenty of options to pair with your meal.

The atmosphere at Peperoncino is unlike any other, with rustic furniture made from antique barn wood, eclectic music and many superstitious amulets scattered throughout the restaurant as homage to the traditional culture of Naples. Our outdoor dining area is one of the favorites in the area, and allows you to enjoy fresh air and the lively energy of Brooklyn while you enjoy your meal. Delivery and takeout available.

History

Established in 2004.

Following the genuine Italian tradition, guests of Peperoncino are invited to partake in a complete culinary, social and auditory experience. The staff strongly believes in the importance of providing a multifaceted experience for their guests in a casual, family-style setting. We hope people will be able to freely interact with one another and create a multicultural exchange through music, authentic food and a well-crafted wine list. The name Peperoncino comes from the Neapolitan dialect and symbolizes not only the red hot pepper, a key element in southern Italian dishes, but most importantly it represents the horn-shaped good luck charm that is believed to ward off the evil eye.
