Is it possible to give more than 5 stars !? LUIS IS THE BEST. I want to make up a giant golden award just for your dog walking and hand it to you on a golden platter. By far the best service me and my little snowflake ever had. Not the rug is so trustworthy and I have absolutely no concerns leaving my dog in their hands knowing my snowflake will be just fine.

Professional, trustworthy, punctual and GREAT with dogs — can’t stress enough how exceptional our experience has been with Not the Rug. Rare to find a company with perfect Unilocal reviews, but Not the Rug is truly deserving and has earned every one.
We recently found Luis after parting ways with our previous dog walker of four years. Our dog is nervous around strangers (especially when we aren’t home) so finding a new walker seemed like it would be a difficult task. Luis is a true professional — after the first day our dog was comfortable around Luis like she knew him her whole life!

What can I say? Luis gives more than 500% of his time, effort, blood, sweat and tears into caring for all his pups and into his business. Luis also knows what real and beyond amazing customer service is. He treats every animal as if they were one of his. His attention to detail making sure 45 minutes is spent with them along with contacting the owners with an update after each walk. What else could you ask for? Obviously I highly recommend Luis and Not the Rug for the kitties and doggies of Williamsburg. He is what every pet would ask for if they could talk: patient, kind, loving, loyal and fun to hang out with!

I wish I could give Luis with ‘Not the Rug’ a million stars. My stubborn, lazy English bulldog Emma LOVES Luis and can’t wait for him to come pick her up for her daily walk. Since Luis has been walking her, she’s more calm and has stopped peeing in her own bed. He is flexible, reliable and I trust him with my dogs life! Best dog walker I’ve ever had!

Simba LOVES Luis! He is always shows up on time and gives Simba a full 45 minute walk, not to mention: lots of love and attention. Highly recommend Not the Rug!

I have an 8 year old beagle/​lab mix that is a handful and Luis makes it all so easy!
I’m new to the area and have had to go out of town twice since moving here and Luis has been beyond accommodating to me and my schedule.
He is reliable, trustworthy, and incredibly loving of my sweet Parker!
I have been in a completely different state and have felt more than confident that Luis would be there for Parker and would treat him as his own, which is exactly what he does.
Do yourself a favor– give him a call. You’ll know from the second you meet him that he is a genuine guy and that he is always looking out for the best interest of our four-​legged family members.

It’s tough to find a reliable cat sitter in Williamsburg, so I’m so glad I found Luis. He’s taken care of my cat numerous times. Not only is he professional and reliable, but he’s also been very flexible when I’ve had last minute changes to my travel plans. Luis sends a text update and photo after his visits which adds peace of mind when I’m traveling. My cat also seems much less anxious when I get back than with previous sitters – I can tell he gets lots of attention and playtime during the visits. Highly recommend Luis!

My girls love Luis. I have an older dog and a now 11 month old puppy. I adopted the little lady when she was 8 weeks old but I adopted my older when she was already 2 so needless to say… I had no idea what I was in for. I never needed a dog walker with my older dog because 1.) my hours have never been that long and 2.) she has an extremely mature/​exercised bladder control. If it’s raining she’ll try to get away with not going out for a whole 24 hours! Stubborn (and lovable) thing. Anyway, a puppy is a different story ALL together. Man, was I ever in for it. In comes Luis.
I found Luis bc he’s the highest rated dog walker in my area (e. williamsburg)…and not for nothing. I had met/​interviewed a few and I knew right away Luis was the one. He came over, did a thorough meeting, we took them out to my yard and he observed and interacted. Everything ‘felt right’ about his calm energy. I also chose him because he spends the most time on walks with his clients for a very reasonable rate which for me was a huge signing deal with an 8 week old pit-​mix. I needed puppy-​relief walking.
Thereafter, Luis gave me a great gift after I got that puppy– complete peace of mind. He was extremely flexible with my late and sometimes last minute restaurant-​life schedule. He always gave me updates on the girls, was consistent with my training commands (he made sure he had everything down exactly right) even helped with them, and was always on-​time and stayed on schedule if not longer on a couple occasions.
My favorite part of my experience with Luis, though, was when he sent me a message saying he also took my older dog out too bc he didn’t want to leave her behind. I was so touched by the heartfelt effort. Even though my older dog didn’t need breaks during the 6 hours or so that wasn’t home it always did break my heart thinking she was left out. But, I thought maybe it’d be too much spending for something that I didn’t REALLY need as I make a fairly modest income. He then came up with a plan to take both girls out that wouldn’t break my bank and still had ample time to walk and explore the outdoors together as a pack. I was delighted.
I work from home now so I no longer need a walker which is too bad bc I’m sure my girls would love to see him again. I would recommend Luis to anyone and everyone. If your animals are your life (as most are) then you’ll really appreciate Luis’ effort, love for dogs, and overall genuine spirit. I’m always hoping my dogs get to see him again soon running into him on the street or something. Alas that day has yet to come.
And, Luis, if you read these things… Fig and Dreya send hugs and kisses! I hold you partly responsible for how great Fig has turned out.

For dog owners in the neighborhood searching for a reliable walker, Luis is by far the best discovery in Williamsburg. He has brought our busy household a sense of calmness and flexibility.
Luis took care of our adult boxer/​pitbull over a long weekend as we did not want to utilize overnight boarding. His introduction was extremely warm and professional. Our boy took to Luis like they were old pals.
Each day and precisely on schedule, we received a picture and followup text with a quick rundown: walked, fed, fresh water, and paws wiped! Upon return, we found our pup clean, content and relaxed.
5 stars for the love and care Luis dedicates to his incredible service.

YES! I would definitely recommend Luis to anyone and everyone. I got an 8 week old Havanese puppy back in December and was really worried to leave him at home while I was at work. Luis came to the rescue and completely put my dog and me at ease. He always texted me an update after he left my apartment and was super dependable and easy to get ahold of. I completely trust him with my pup and in my home.

Simply Put Luis is now a part of our pack supper reliable and caring of my Cane Corso puppy, he is patient and knowledgable, when CoCo is with Luis I am confident, she will get her needed exercise I highly recommend Not The Rug– Dog Walking

Couldn’t be happier… and neither could my dog Busta. Luis is great with him and every time he comes Busta gets so excited. Always on time and never any problems. A must service if you need your dog walked lovingly.

Luis is truly a godsend. He has really transformed our overly energetic pup, Simon. Prior to Luis, Simon’s favorite activity was tearing up the couch, now he is napping next to it! Simon is always super happy to see Luis (and we are too!). I have complete trust in Luis. He is always on time and extremely reliable. If you need a dog walker or cat sitter, Luis is your man.

Hands down the best dog walker I have ever had. I’ve worked with services and independent people with various degrees of success but none of them hold a candle to Luis. Super flexibility (which I require with my crazy schedule), the best care you can hope for when asking someone else to watch your dog (Luis is just plain amazing with my dog and the other dogs I’ve seen him with) and he is a nice guy to boot. I couldn’t recommend him enough… If you are looking… seriously… look no further…

I’ve worked with other dog walking services in the area and Luis is by far the best. He’s trustworthy, reliable, and always on time. My dog Brutus seems to really adore Luis as well. And on days where Luis has walked Brutus he always seems visibly pleased. I’d def go with Luis!

The best dog walker I’ve ever had. Luis is great with our dog. Luis makes sure that he gets plenty of exercise and does a private walk with him daily. Our puppy is always happy whenever he sees Luis and is always nice and tired later on at night from a good run around. We can always rely on Luis to come over whether its bad weather, short notice, or even a rare weekend walk.
I would definitely recommend Not The Rug to anyone looking for a dog walker.

It’s not easy to find a someone who you can easily trust to leave your pride and joy with. Here you can take comfort in the fact that Luis, the owner and operator of Not The Rug, not only cares for your Pets but he also enjoys doing it and is 200% reliable and committed. He himself has two dogs that are super cute as well. He is definately a dog lover. I highly recommend the personalized and quality over quantity service. I love that he only walks 3 at a time. it makes me feel that the pups are not only getting exercise but that they are getting one on one attention. That rules!!! It’s easy to see that he really gets it. Highly recommended!!!
