History

Established in 2011.

Noël’s Kitchen is the product of the owner’s close relationship with his grandfather Noël, his mother Noella, and his uncle J.Noël. The owner, Robert Crawford, trained exclusively in Baton Rouge LA, New Orleans LA, Shreveport LA, and Atlanta, GA for over 6 years.

With an undergrad degree in Hospitality Management, and deeply rooted experience working with restaurants, Robert continues to elevate simple foods & bring a taste of Louisiana to the New York City Metro area

Raised in East Harlem, Chef Robert Crawford has always cherished and loved his passion for cooking. After graduating from Monroe College with a degree in Hospitality Management, Robert went on to train in Louisiana & Georgia for over 7 years in an effort to bring an authentic taste of Louisiana Cajun Cooking to the New York City Metro Area.

Excellent customer service. Went in for a late night dinner and had sausage and shrimp in a Creole sauce. It was absolutely delicious. I was so stuffed, I couldn’t finish it all. And even better, the price was right! Will definitely be coming back.

Went to Noël’s Kitchen for brunch one Sunday and was impressed. I went with classic soul food and think the City could use more solid soul food restaurants like Noël’s. I had the cajun chicken with mac ‘n cheese, greens and yams and plate was more than I could eat. Is definitely a great spot worth trying.

Ordered the Shrimp Po’ Boy for delivery. The sandwich wasn’t even fully wrapped when I opened it from the bag, half the sandwich had already fallen apart into the bag. Everything was soggy. The fries were so soggy the bag ripped, and their «cornbread» looks and tastes like stale pancakes.

Not a place to go if your hungry. Nice owner but the services was terrible and very slow. I reserved a table in advance for 16 people at 6:15 and left at 9 pm with two guest still not getting the meal they ordered. They clearly are not set for large groups. I begged for appetizers for the table and it still took 90 minutes for food of any kind to reach the table. Drink orders taken and forgotten when the soda did come it was hot and flat. The chicken wings were not cooked through and took an hour. Most of the table ate their meals at different times because two plates came out in 20 to 30 minutes intervals. The portions are small. The atmosphere is nice and the owner is actually very nice. Sad but this review is actually kind given the experience.

Listen… you hungry??? Make your way here… run don’t walk. You can taste the love in the food. The environment is warm and like HOME the foood chileeeeee… mmm-​kay!!! Food was terrible. I ordered the BBQ wings and shrimp. I feel like the shrimp was well over cooked and too much breaking. The wings had way too much breading. I felt like I was eating BBQ breading. I was just disappointed all around. I ended up going to the bodega to get some food.

The food here is okay. For the price you pay, it’s not worth it. I ordered a $ 9 (as per their Unilocal menu which I was told was accurate after calling) entrée-​beer battered fried wings and they charged me $ 15. Even if I did get 5 more chicken wings than the Unilocal menu stated, $ 15 for 8 wings and cornbread seems excessive.

The chicken was fried fresh, that I could tell. It didn’t taste seasoned though you could clearly see it was battered. The cornbread was good, tas
ted almost like cake.
Overall still excessive in price and very misleading online menu which I was told was accurate before ordering over the phone. I’m only giving this one star because the app doesn’t allow 0 stars.

Great food, great atmosphere. I had the chicken and waffles. It came with a side of salad and a sweet tea. There’s a lot of these soul/​creole spots poppin up and it’s hard to distinguish the real from the trendy/​fad. But Noël’s is the real deal. And… green/​health conscious as well. To include a salad with the meal is unheard of without some crazy additional fees– some other places, the salad costs more than the actual meal. The chicken and waffles were made fresh on the spot and the salad tasted like it was garden picked. I can’t wait to go back and try everything else on that menu, while being in a cozy environment and did I mention that they have free wifi? Hoping that this place remains the same even while the neighborhood is changing. Great representative of the migration and fusion of southern to NYC.

Let me start by saying what I had, fried fish with fried grits. And I will say the fish was well seasoned to my liking. Now that’s the grits was surprisingly delicious to me. My meal came with a homemade biscuit and hash brown definitely feeling and we’ll be seeing this face and belly again. They are still working on the décor but with food that good who cares ! I am looking forward to see what they come up with next as far as a menu right they’re just doing brunch.

The food here is great. I went on Dr. MLK DAY to have the fish and grits. It was talapia fish that was crusted just right with creamy grits. I really loved it. I also had a Mimosa that was awesome. The staff was very attentive and nice. The atmosphere in this place is really comfy. I really love the décor. I am thinking about having a party here for my staff. Since they are apparently open Fri-​Mon, I can book it to have the party on Wednesday night which is perfect. The only critique I have is that they need a dessert. I heard about the carrot soufflé but it wasn’t available when I went. I will definitely be back to this place soon. BTW, they have free wifi, always a plus in my book.

On their opening brunch weekend (01÷09÷15), I ordered take out– 2 orders of the chicken and waffles that came with a side of mixed greens, a hash brown and a drink of choice.
For starters the waffles were hot and fresh, made to order, though I would have preferred them slightly more golden brown. The chicken (wings and drumsticks) were room temperature and served out of an aluminum pan sitting over a sterno however they needed reheating after walking literally 10 doors down to my apartment. We weren’t given any salad dressing for our mixed greens and the hash brown tasted as if it was from the previous day for lack of a better description. The mimosa’s that we took home however were good just as the chef said they’d be.
Overall I’d give the place 3 stars. If the food isn’t cooked on site (I didn’t see a kitchen) then depending on when you come in, it may be room temperature or below. For a «low key» neighborhood spot I have hopes of trying them again one night for dinner. While there is a bar, it wasn’t stocked with a lot of options which actually I was glad to see hoping it’d keep the noise on the block down.
On the next visit for dinner, with hot, well prepared food I’d definitely raise the stars in my review.

Hello, I attended an event and Chef Rob Crawford’s food tasted horrible!!! The macaroni and cheese was extra SOGGY! The meatballs was alright. The rice was crunchy as hell along with some black eyed peas that wasn’t prepared properly! The sliders both turkey and ground beef looked very dry like the desert. He should have used jumbo shrimp on the skewers also it should have been more than one shrimp per skewer. He was stingy with the meat on the beef and chicken skewers. I must give him credit for his carrot soufflé’, hit of the party. I’m perplexed as to why and how Chef Rob has excellent ratings. My overall experience is that he would be highly recommended, but not for his food.

Not only did Chef Rob provide excellent food for our event of 150 people, he did it on a budget, in a pinch, and with top notch service. He is a pleasure to work with and his food is just plain great. Our event ran smoothly and they took care of everything. People complimented both the food and the service of his staff. Robert catered our feature film shoot (20 days), and supplied breakfast, lunch, snacks and beverages for a cast and crew of 25. He was always on time, professional and adaptable. A happy crew makes a better film, and Robert did his part. When special dietary restrictions were needed, which was often, he worked with us to find solutions that fell within our budget. Robert was easy to work with and displayed a level of patience and determination that’s admirable, and crucial to film shoots. On top of it, we were a location heavy production, and Robert handled that challenge with ease. You’ll be pleased with Noël’s Kitchen’s work.

We contracted Chef Rob to cater special events for several months. Chef was a joy to work with and brought a bevy of wonderful suggestions and additions to our existing menu. His carrot soufflé will always be a favorite of mine! He is adaptable and works well with any budget constraints. Our Mardi Gras buffet came to life under his expert guidance. The crowd enjoyed carved prime rib, fried chicken among many other tasty treats. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Noels Kitchen for any of your catering needs.
