Excellent selection of items. Spent an hour looking through things and I discovered some real treasures! Definitely coming back.

Someone said that this store doesn’t have fitting rooms but there totally are! There are two on basement level which is the woman’s department, and five on the second floor!

I am definitely a thrifter. I enjoy thrift shopping. I think I enjoy thrift shopping more than buying new because it’s a treasure hunt to me. So I went in Unique tonight to look for a trench coat or a nice quilted coat because I cannot afford expensive little jackets right now being that I am trying to save for an actual coat. I scoured through the racks and then picked up 3 jackets. 1 leather, 1 quilted and 1 trench. None of them looked good when I tried them on. So I hung them on the rack near the fitting room and immediately spotted another trench coat hanging up there… and it was a vintage Burberry (an actual Burberry) for only $ 34.99 I got super excited because that is exactly what I wanted and was looking for either Burberry trench or quilted. I tried to look for the size but just decided to try it on. I got it on but it was a smedium (something that is snug and small on you) I was on the phone with my boyfriend and he asked if I could get away with it. I told him no. I couldn’t move freely or button/​zip it up. If this were my teenage days yeah I would’ve bought it and wore it too small and all but naw I need to fit in my clothes… That was 3hrs ago and I’m still sad about it. Other than that, last time I was in Unique (3weeks ago) I bought 4 vintage polyester shirts for work (they have all these different patterns) and 1 vintage 1980/​90ish wool blazer that is
…I love finding things like that because I know no1 I know will have it… so I am UNIQUE in my own way and right… okay that was cheesy as hell but true lol.

I came here based on guidebooks, assuming Brooklyn would have super cool thrifting. This is without compare the dirtiest store with the lowest quality garbage that I have ever been in over 30-​something years of shopping secondhand. And that includes the 90’s Boston area goodwill that once posted a sign reminding patrons not to urinate in the store and the filthy places in the Haight San Francisco. This store assumes you’re a criminal: You enter and check your bag at the not-​terribly-​secure looking desk. Immediately, you see two huge glass locked counter displays with an attendant to supervise your review of a ton of overpriced valueless jewelry, because I guess there’s a big problem with theft of worn plastic mass-​produced accessories. It’s like the Tiffany & Co of junk jewelry.

Good for crazy low prices but there’s no dressing rooms and no refunds, so I suggest you absolutely LOVE whatever you buy.

I never find anything that I could call a true treasure but the store is massive and you can find good stuff In here if you search and if you go on Wednesday you get 20% off. But I did find a few things name brand that I loved and looked new.

Boy. Where do I begin? Let’s start with the fact that this store will accept anything, wipe it down, put it in a baggie and slap a label on it to sell. You need a used telephone cord? You got it! This neat, but seemingly indiscriminate attitude towards inventory is actually one of the reasons I gave it 4 stars instead of 3.
The place is also huge. Good for cruising the isles in semi peace. There was a smell that was worrisome at the end of one aisle of jeans, but to be fair, I don’t think it was the actual clothing. If you’re looking to take the whole family (which I can’t imagine doing so while keep any piece of your sanity), there’s plenty of selection for men and kids alongside things for ladies. They are, however, on different floors. Overall, you need to bring a stack of patience with you to actually look through a whole section here. I’ll try again. This trip, I mostly got caught up in the overall oddity of the place and the items they stocked. It’s bit of a labyrinth.
I couldn’t get over the fact it seemed as if I had gone back in time to the 70’s or 80’s here. I imagine the place would be very useful for a prop stylist or set designer looking for older niche items. I know that’s really specific, but I have interest in/​have observed those occupations, so that’s what came to mind.

I like this place. I would always pass it when downtown it just never captured me. I am new to this thrifting thing but I really love the idea of wearing things you won’t find at H&M, then the week after you purchase it, it’s for sale for $ 7 and then you see a million others with your dress or top since H&M uses the same pattern to make multiple things… Anyway enough about them, I Unilocaled thrifty spots and saw the name «Unique» I immediately said I KNOW THAT PLACE! Still walking in I was shocked, it didn’t look like any other thrift shop I’ve ever been to and you must check your bags in (not your purse of course) it seems some customers were having an issue right by the bag check and by the look on their face it may have been that someone left with their bag. The place is huge it has 3 floors. It’s pretty neat, staff were friendly, prices were awesome, and racks were plentiful. BUUUUUTTT took me forever to get a dressing room I started trying on some of my clothes in the aisle like I saw others doing lol. That’s my only complaint. Next time I hope not to be in a rush to check out the books. I told a friend about this place we will definitely be back!

this location is 3 levels and will wear you slam out if youre not a real thrifter. Its pretty well organized. The employees are rude as hell, but you are sure to walk out of there with some really good deals. This store and the Westbury (Long Island) location are the best two Unique stores to shop at. I strongly suggest paying with cash. their credit card machine is a little suspect.

We bought a good pair of adidas shoes sold at $ 80 in the market today and it was priced for only $ 35. It looks brand new. Although i would say that some clothes are overpriced as compared to Goodwill.

Absolutely Love coming to this place I always find more than what I need. On the other hand the customer service that I have recieved on more than one occasion was terrible, with the acception of one cashier which is always plesant. 3 stars for the great finds. Minus 1 star for the bad customer service and another star for overpricing on most items.

UNIQUE never returned my bag, instead re-​tagged the lost items and put them out for sale!!! Don’t go there with a bag!!!

Tiny entrance. Huge store. This place is a thrifters dream. You never know what you’ll find and you have to be ready to sort through floors of stuff. It’s all well arranged though. I’ll be back!

After reading all the other reviews, I figured that this place was worth a visit. I was surprised with the large selection they had. If you actually take your time to look through things, you’re bound to find some awesome finds.
I saw a Michael Kors jacket for just $ 10 and a Sherri Hill dress for $ 7! Although I didn’t buy those things since they weren’t my size, I did leave with a few other items that were in great condition.
If you’re ever in the area, definitely check out this thrift shop.

This place is only a hop, skip and a jump from my work. AKA perfect spot for my lunch break for retail therapy. I have been craving some“new” clothes and deals. I stopped by here a couple weeks ago during my lunch. It happened to be customer appreciation day, 20% off everything!
I love thriftstores because it’s a hunt! And you can have to dig deep to find the treasures. I went through the halloween stuff and found a vintage, pink skull mug that I have been wanting forever! Soooo happy! I found a cute dress for $ 7, a red over the shoulder purse for $ 5 and a cute coral top with lace detailing on the back. I got everything for less than $ 20.

4.5 stars. Out of all the thrift stores in NYC I’ve been to, this one is my favorite. The entire store is very spacious. I think they sell everything but furniture and adult underwear. During the holiday season they even sold used rolls of wrapping paper! They have 25% off sales every Monday and Thursday, and monthly 50% off sales!
The clothes are very well organized and then they’re even organized by size, so you don’t have to sort through all the size 4 – 6 to get to 12 – 14. Even the shoes are organized by size. The books are semi-​organized by genre. They have a large selection of accessories and housewares. They also sell curtains, tablecloths, and blankets. I got some of the cutest knick-​knacks and kitchen accessories here, and the vintage items are surprising, and amazingly priced.
The best thing: customer restrooms!
I don’t find the employees unusually rude. They work in retail, I don’t have high expectations for politeness.
However, I have to take away for this: they only have 2 fitting rooms on the women’s floor, and employees will bitch about a customer blatantly disregarding written fitting room policy rather than actually enforce them, with other rule-​abiding customers waiting. Last time I was there I waited over 15 minutes with 2 people ahead of me, including a hipster who took in her cart of over 15 items to try on. So I completely disregarded the employees who said fitting rooms were closed.

I have such a love-​hate relationship with this place… it’s one of the few of a chain of HUGE (three floors) thrift stores in the NYC area. My friends and I mainly come here to check out their vintage section (they are nice enough to separate the vintage clothing pieces for you) they stuff in here is actually REALLY nice and REALLY cheap i mean $ 3.99-$ 9.99 for stuff that trendy Manhattan thrift stores would double or even tripple! If you take your time out and dig you will find some gems. Today my friends and I found a vintage genuine leather 90’s mini backpack ($ 5.99) D.A.R.E tee’s (99 cents) a vintage floral jacket ($ 5.99) and vintage Levi’s that will be cut into shorts ($ 5.99) AND we an extra 25% off because it was Monday (if you sign up for a free VIP card you also get this discount on Thurs)
The bottom line is this is a great place to search for unique (no pun intended lol) pieces with friends, the selection is huge and forever changing. I do have to take a star off for the RUDE and awful staff here that treat customers like crap because they clearly hate their jobs but oh well… I’ll be back.

I work Downtown, Brooklyn so I go here every other week. I have never bought any clothes. I read a lot and the books are dirt cheap. Hardcovers, soft covers and there is a great variety of authors to choose from. I also like the housewares section. I have gotten great buys on glasses, vases, beautiful pieces for a china closet.
Make sure you sign up for their card, you can get discounts on certain days. But, the day the discount is in effect, you can’t sign up for a card on that day.
