The ingredients are top notch but oh boy is this place pricey! Which makes sense, you get what you pay for, but $ 50 for three meatballs and two small pies hurts, no way around it. The meatballs were crazy good. Soft, flavorful, good quality meat. They’re also really generous with their delicious freakin sauce that’s perfect for dipping your crust in. The pizza was solid. I wasn’t such a fan of the marinara. I was eager to try a cheese-less pie but it turns out I really missed the cheese! The soppresetta completely won me over though. Overall the food was tasty, but the portions are so small that it costs just a bit too much money to get full.

After walking the Williamsburg bridge I had a craving for pizza, so I decided to try this location. Now I’ll be honest I’m a bit of a pizza snob and can be very critical. Pizza to me is all about the thin crust and not that deep dish junk in Chicago. So back to my review, I gotta say this place has it! the crust is good and the sauce is just right it did need a pinch of salt but wow this was pretty good. We ordered the special which was a margarita with meatballs at first I was like I don’t know! But we were glad we ordered the meatballs it was perfect they had the right amount of meat and breadcrumbs. The location has a romantic ambiance with dim lights with a candle in the middle. As for the staff they were really friendly and made sure we were happy. Would I go back? heck yeah. The crust was good plus I heard the calzone are fantastic. So I’ll have to go back and try some more.

This place has AMAZING pizza and my beau loves their calzones. I’m vegan so I order their marinara pizza and have them cover it entirely with kalamata olives. It typically comes with marinara, garlic, a pinch of oregano and olive oil. You can customize your pizzas with any of the sides [pancetta, brussel sprouts, bacon, goat cheese, artichokes, etc]. The décor is a french style and very welcoming-perfect for brunch, lunch or dinner with friends and family. The staff and owner are super friendly and their delivery guy is the sweetest(:

First impression… Excellent set up and view of the oven in the back. Great spot for a date or just to grab a bite. I had the margarita pizza which was delicious I only wished they served slices so that I could try other things on the menu. Bar seating is perfect if your that kind of person nice high chairs with attentive bar tenders.

This is one of my favorite pizza spots, so I have returned here several times, usually during ‘off-days’ for lunch. The main menu item is a personal Neapolitan-style pizza, which comes with a choice of toppings. All of it is very good. I think this place epitomizes that style. My favorite way to order for two: get two different pizzas and a bottle of wine. You won’t have to eat anything else the rest of the day.

I ordered mixed green salad(which really was just mixed greens with lemon juice), mussels($ 12 it was okay), Margherita pizza($ 12) with additional toppings of sweet sausage and arugula($ 2−4ea) & another pizza(I forget the name but it was okay too). Pizza was really small with 4 slices and there is barely any cheese. I felt like I was eating bread but that’s probably the type of pizza it is. I personally prefer brick-oven pizza which is crispier and crunchy. Staff was really chill and friendly. Environment is nice and cute!

Great pizza and octopus. I will tell you this — the service was good but the hostess, NICOLE, really went the extra mile to make us feel like regulars!

In the course of the evening’s conversation, my sister’s boyfriend was incredulous to learn that this place, which he rated as merely par for the course among NYC pizza joints, serves up pies that rival the best available pizza in DC. This finally hammered home the reality of my disappointment with DC’s pizza scene, that our maximum is only NYC’s median, and why I miss the northeast so much. Maybe this place really does only represent passable pizza by Brooklyn standards, but I found it to be top-notch. We waltzed in on a Saturday around 8pm with no reservation and still got a table for four with no wait. The bright interior with its exposed brick and minimal décor was very inviting and the place had a lively feel without being noisy or raucous. I’ll bet the outdoor seating when the weather is nice makes for a lovely meal as well. Our server was friendly and efficient, and the pizza was delicious, fluffy and chewy crust surrounding fresh and flavorful toppings, just the way it should be. Even in a city so jaded by the prevalence of quality pizza, I say this place stacks up well, and if I lived nearby in Brooklyn I’d have it on my shortlist of regular dinner options, especially since it looked like they deliver as well.

This has to be one of the worst places for Neapolitan pizza in Brooklyn. The food is just ok, the service is really bad, and the price is high. This last part might not make sense, but our server didn’t know the difference between a brewery name and a brand of their beer. We were served a «Sweet Action Pils» which doesn’t actually exist. Very bad for vegetarians too.

$ 12 for a 12 inch pizza of crusty deliciousness and a side salad(which is irrelevant) but still. Best lunch special ever and you can easily share it between two people since it definitely fills you up. Had a great lunch here today aside from the waitress spilling olive oil all over my bag. Still mad about it but didn’t complain because I didn’t want to be THAT person. Even with that the waitress was very nice and made sure to explain all the pizza toppings and options to us. We shared a spicy sopressata pizza and salad from the special and we were pleasantly surprised at how good the pizza was. Sometimes thin crust pizza can be lack luster due to the ratio of sauce and cheese. This had just the right amount of sauce and I loved how spicy the pizza was without being too much. I will be back motorino! Mostly because I want to eat that Brussel sprout pizza with someone who isn’t a sprout hater! Do I have any takers?

I made a reservation for a party of 8 in celebration of Hub’s bday last weekend. The staff set up the table prior to our arrival. They were very courteous in the beginning. Our waitress took our order for appetizers and drinks. We had the octopus salad and wings. The wings were only 3 pcs. The octopus was ok. We were waiting on 2 other people in our party. The waitress came back twice after 10 mins. She would repeatedly hint if we were ready to place our order. This was after we received our appetizers and drinks. Since we felt pressured, we eventually placed our orders. Suddenly, the service diminished. Prior to ordering, we asked our waitress for recommendation if the pie was enough for sharing. She simply replied, it’s a personal pie.(No further explanation). Normally, a personal pie would mean individual pies not meant to be shared and smaller portion-wise. However, this was not the case! Motorino’s version of a personal pie was bigger than a personal pie. Our whole party end up ordering a pie each. We all had a hard time finishing the left over slices. It would had been superb if our waitress was knowledgeable with the recommendations and elaborate on the number of portion the pie serves. Btw, the pie contains 6 slices, depending on how thick they cut the pie. It’s a decent portion, not tiny slices. We were given regular menus. I later found out, there was a pre-fix family style menu esp for groups. Instead, we were treated with annoyance and impatience when she took our pie orders. We had the mushroom and the brussels sprout. The crust was delicious! It remind us of naan. However, it becomes heavy when you’re on your 3rd slice, as the dough was much thicker. I get the concept of the resemblance of personalized pies in Naples. Unfortunately, it was not even remotely close. Their dough is much thicker and contain heavy toppings. Def not meant to be eaten alone(unless you starved yourself the whole day)! I had the lemonade & thyme cocktail that was good(except I clumsily knocked over). Our friend, who normally finishes any meal had trouble devouring his Margherita pie. He end up taking it to go. Same with my brother, who had the Proscuitto. He had a hard time consuming the whole pie as well. This was the deal breaker for us. I also brought in a bday cake to be served at the end of dinner. Our waitress told us, it would be an add’l $ 4 plating fee pp. We later told her, we would take the cake with us. And, we were practically rushed out of there as soon as we received the tab. Much to our disbelief, there was an extra $ 32 charge automatically billed to tab for the plating fee. This was after we request not to have the cake cut there. It was discreetly billed onto the tab. Of course, we didn’t catch it until we got home as we were rushed out of there. Overall, it was a good experience but not worth the overall tab!

This is one of my favorite places. Some of the best pizza I’ve had along with Patrizias. Excellent beet salad. Order the bread, its like a giant piece of inflated flat bread brushed with oil And its like a balloon until the server brings it over and punctures it with a knife. You stare hungrily as it deflates and start ripping off a piece to eat before its fully collapsed. Delivery is great

Enjoyed another edition of Pizza Fridays here with my Pizza Loving Lady(PLL). To get things started, we enjoyed some meatballs, tasty and big. For the pizza we got the Soppressata, mmmm mmmmm mmmm. The dough was my favorite but ingredients were also good. The food took forever to get ready and it was super hot in there with the pizza oven, so taking down a star for that.

The Pizza was fine, but nothing to write home about. The staff were friendly and because it was a sunny day it was nice to sit outside and enjoy our pizza. For a lunchtime, you can probably get away with sharing a pizza. We saw the pizza on the table next to us, which looked quite small so we ordered one each, and our pizzas seemed much larger! I had seen a segment on TV about their brunch pizza, but it wasn’t on the menu, however our waiter said they could accommodate us and make the brunch pizza, so we had that plus a margarita pizza with mushrooms. I preferred the mushroom pizza, my hubby preferred the brunch one. We both felt they were a bit oily. The pizza had a burnt crust, but then a soggy centre? But that could be because of the style of that particular pizza. We possibly need to determine the ‘type/style’ of pizza it is that we like and can then probably judge better, but this was our take on the pizza they offer.

Excelentes pizzas al estilo italiano, si quieres la pizza newyorkina olvídate de este lugar, pero si quieres sentir la comida italiana tradicional no dudes en venir! Divinos los sabores y muy buena atención. Recomendado.

My idea of heaven: bathing in a giant glass of rosé before turning down for the night in an enormous version of Motorino’s mergherita or soppressata pizza. While by this point we’re all used to that fluffy, delicate, light, and flavorful brick oven pizza, that doesn’t mean it ever gets old. Neapolitan pizza is here to stay(apparently even in Manila and Hong Kong, where Motorino has locations), and thank goodness for that! Finish it off with a side of their roasted brussels sprouts and helpful, friendly service in a airy and cheerful environment in Williamsburg — if this isn’t your idea of heaven, then I think it’s time you convert!

Ughhhh the pizza is so bad. I ordered the mushroom pie and it was soggy throughout the whole bottom right up until the crust. It wasn’t even like it got soggy over time, it came out piping hot and SOGGY. And the crust would have been good, but it was SOOOOOCHARRED! Horribly charred. So you have a soggy bottom with an overly charred crust. Gross. Other than the sogginess, the pie was mostly bland. The olives saved it a bit, but there were only 3 olives on the whole pie. We also got the special meatball pizza — big mistake. Gross chunks of mostly breading meatballs. Yuck. Also, pretty bland. The staff is fine, overall pleasant. The actual restaurant itself looks nice, but it was really hard to have a good time with everyone running around so much. They do a lot of deliveries, so there is a lot of movement in and out and through the restaurant — not pleasant if you want to enjoy your dinner. And the wine is served is tiny water glasses. No thanks.

Pizza is by far really my favorite all time go-to food. Motorino’s did not disappoint. Their space is intimate and cozy. Not meant really for very large groups but it has a friendly, low key setting which makes it nice for a date spot, or a small group of friends getting together for no other reason than that it’s a Sunday night, and we wanted a good dinner, good talks and laughs between. And that we did. There were 5 of us, and we didn’t overwhelm the space and were well accommodated. 5 pies between 5 of us(we who are now officially branded«Team Fatass»). We started off with their meatball appetizer. It wasn’t anything to be wow-ed over but it was good enough, if but a bit overwhelmed by the Parmesan. In order of my favorites as for the pizza… The Brussels sprouts with Pancetta was absolutely delicious. I mean, it’s smoked pancetta. Need I say more? Next for me would be the Soppressata Picante(spicy tomato based cured Italian salami). It’s got an awesome kick to it. I would’ve been able to make a meal of only that if we hadn’t ordered anything else. Yep, that good. The Pugliese(spicy sausage with broccoli rabe) was also pretty yummy too. The Portabella Mushroom and Cherry Stone Clam(a clam vongole equivalent) I could’ve probably gone without. It just didn’t do much for me. I love mushrooms but the flavor of the Portabella and black olives came out a bit too watery for my liking as far as texture goes. The clams also, you just didn’t get as much texture when thinking clams and again, just a bit too watery making the crust soggy. We ended the night over 3 shared desserts — tiramisu — made in house we were told — was definitely drool worthy; delicious strawberry gelato; and, the torta de cioccolato? It’s good but that, I think, would be a matter of preference. I’m not a big dense chocolate person so it was a bit too rich and a lotta bit too sweet for me. In all, I can say I’m pretty darn content.

We are living in a golden age of pizza in Brooklyn. A pie such as the ones Motorino consistently churns out of their beautiful brick oven… with their slightly charred crust, exemplary toppings, and exquisite sauce… could potentially be the best in nearly any other city in the country. It’s only because we have so many stellar options that people dare to malign such premium pizza. So complain about the prices if you must. Bemoan the fact that you think your local Neapolitan joint is better if you think so. But if you don’t enjoy eating their sopressata pie, I don’t think you like pizza.* Speaking of prices, at lunchtime they offer a prix fixe: a pie and a sizable salad dressed with a lemon vinaigrette for only $ 12. This is a good deal, especially considering you don’t NEED a whole pie to yourself(regardless of what you WANT). ______________ *This effectively makes you a crazy person.
