Molly Oliver Flowers is a sustainable floral design business run by urban farmers Molly Culver of the Youth Farm and Deborah Greig of East New York Farms!

We love to create gorgeous, one-​of-​a kind seasonal flower arrangements for special events — from fundraisers and corporate events to weddings and private parties.

History

Established in 2012.

Co-​owners Molly and Deborah met in 2005, working as Americorps VISTA volunteers for Just Food, a non profit organization dedicated to expanding food justice in NYC. Several years later, they crossed paths again as farmers-​in-​training in California, where they both studied growing flowers organically. Now both back in NYC and each managing urban farms dedicated to growing new farmers, fresh food and flowers, they have teamed up to offer unique floral design featuring seasonal flowers.

Business Owner

Molly has been working as a local food and flower activist in New York City since 2005. Early in her career, she kicked off a brand new CSA chapter and farmers market in the poorest congressional district in the US, and hasn’t stopped working to make growing food and eating local accessible to all. Molly has managed both rural and urban farms since 2009, and currently manages the 1-​acre Youth Farm in Crown Heights, Brooklyn where she oversees farm production and sales and leads an Urban Farm Training Program for adults. In 2012, Molly co-​founded Molly Oliver Flowers with business partner Deborah Greig, a sustainable floral design company bringing new meaning to the term ‘green weddings.’

Molly is incredible at her job! The process of picking flowers for my wedding was a breeze because she made it simple. I honestly had no clue what I wanted but I felt I could trust her to create arrangements that reflected my personal style and worked well with the venue.
I saw the arrangements moments before walking down the aisle. I am pretty sure I gasped and said «OH MY GOD» at least 20 times because I could not have dreamed up more perfect arrangements. They were elegant and beautiful but in such a natural and simple way. I could see myself and my style in her designs.
Molly is a really sweet person. After rushing to venue, I was feeling a little nervous and frantic. She met me just outside of the venue to give me my bouquet and pin flowers in my hair. I will always remember her calm and warm personality and how this interaction softened me just before one of the biggest moments of my life!
I would recommend her to anyone!

Molly did an amazing job with the flowers for our wedding and far exceeded expectations in every way! She was wonderful to work with – very flexible, creative, and knowledgeable – and the flowers, from my bouquet, to my husband’s boutonnière, to our ceremony and reception flowers – were all so beautiful and vibrant. She factored in our preferences and really captured the vibe of our day perfectly. Cannot recommend more highly.

I had planned to order wholesale flowers online for my September wedding, so Molly was a late-​game decision. I hired her to make bouquets, boutonnieres, and provide ~800 stems for me to make my own centerpieces. She helped me work within my budget, even offering to do bouquets below her normal price.
The flowers turned out GORGEOUS. I was obsessed with my bouquet and the colors all looked amazing. The photos speak for themselves… Molly herself was really easy to work with and I love that she sources locally and only uses in season blooms. She even gets some of her flowers from the farm where I got married!
Bottom line: hire her.

Molly was the only real contender for our wedding florist. We got married in Brooklyn in May 2015. No one else held a candle to her. Here’s why she’s amazing:
1) She works with regional/​local gardens. She is committed to sustainability practices.
2) She really listens to you and makes something beautiful that fits your needs and desires. In addition to our initial consultation, she was always available for our questions by email along the way.
3) Though the expense was huge for us (we spent more on flowers than anything else) she was up front about costs and worked hard to accommodate our budget. (It was our choice to raise it when we saw what she could do!)
4) Her work is absolutely beautiful and she sees everything through completely. You can rest easy with your flowers in her hands.
I’ll attach some photos soon! I’d recommend her to anyone, especially those looking for natural/​wildflower arrangements.

Molly did the flowers for our wedding in New York in January, and she was terrific. We had a couple of requests that probably made our event a little challenging. First, we wanted a sort of wildflower look, but it was 10 degrees out the day we got married and we did not have «wedding colors». Second, we wanted to use our own collection of antique bottles, all differently shaped and sizes, as flower containers. Molly dealt with it all perfectly. She reached out to multiple local growers and greenhouses to figure out what would be available in January, created a customized pinterest board for us so that we could share pictures for ideas, reviewed photographs of all of our bottles so that she could figure out how best to use them, etc. Throughout, she was friendly, flexible, and responsive. And in the end, all of the flowers — including the bouquet and the boutonierre — were beautiful, and really represented the look that we wanted. We highly recommend Molly’s services!

Molly was an OUTSTANDING florist for my April 2015 wedding in Long Island City, Queens. I am still completely blown away by my flower crown and my bouquet. I wish I could have them cryogenically frozen so I could gaze longingly at them forever. She did an amazing job of picking flowers that were in season and met my requirements of being YELLOW. ;) she also was flexible to accommodate my last minute requests for adding moss and using different vessels that I had bought on eBay to bring some local Detroit charm to the wedding. I also decided late in the game to get a large floral arrangement at the entrance of the wedding and it is not a decision that I regret! It was absolutely beautiful! If you are looking for someone who provides sustainable floral design and understands your quirky flair, Molly is your florist!

Molly and Deborah did the flowers for my wedding in April of this year. I cannot describe how beautiful everything turned out. The process throughout was very collaborative; she and I shared a Pinterest board where we would periodically pin some inspirations. I did not have a very detailed idea of what I wanted. Instead, I just told her what I loved and hated, and the general feel for the wedding. What she came up with was incredible — I got so many compliments!

Molly did the flowers for my wedding in October 2013. Her work was amazing and we truly appreciated her passion for sustainable floral design. She worked with us to incorporate all the right details, such as learning a sailor’s know to hold my bouquet together (my husband & I met on our college sailing team) and made my vision of bridal party flowers that were all slightly different come together better than I could have imagined using a variety of forms of my favorite flower (sunflowers).
Molly was easy to work with: we shared a Pinterest board for inspiration and we decided to do a walk-​thru of the reception space together which we found really helpful. Her execution was perfect and we cannot recommend her highly enough!
