Our philosophy at Atlantic Cellars is finding quality wines that satisfy the palate, pricing them to reflect the economic times we live in and respect the planet. We want to cater to our neighborhood, that is why we have decided to price all our wines at a $ 12. Give the people what they need.

Most of our wines are produced with indigenous grape varietals and in small batches. We look for Organic and Biodynamic producers when available but we don’t settle for less than sustainable agricolture.

We also pride ourselves in carrying the largest selection of Local Brooklyn Spirits and American Spirits in the neighborhood.

We host Free Tastings every Friday from 6pm-​9pm and we always welcome your curiosity.

History

Established in 2011.

We love wine. We love drinking it with friends, food and by itself. We love affordable, quality wines for any occasion. We love talking about it WITH you but never TO you. We love winemakers that love wine even more than we do. We love our customers, and their individual journeys in this love affair.

And we love sharing. That’s how Atlantic Cellars came about — simply an act of Love.

Jason’s dream was always to have businesses in the neighborhood where he grew up, in particular a Wine & Spirit Shop that would cater to the people that he knew. The goal was to create something that would enhance the community by bringing people together.

He feels that step by step is achieving it.

I wandered down to the wine store in hopes of finding a bottle for a friend who was kind enough to offer us lodging during our travels. She suggested this was a great store so perhaps my opinion was already biased (as it turns out she mistook it with another shop but hadn’t been to Atlantic Cellars).
I looked around for a few minutes when a gentlemen asked if I was looking for something. When I responded with a question it appeared he couldn’t get out of the conversation quick enough, stating no and then disappearing into the back room The lady behind the counter was incredibly friendly. In fact, she’s the reason for the extra star.
If I based it on the wine selection I would rate Atlantic 2 stars BUT is great for the novice on a budget. I suspect this is their target audience and this is wonderful because an affordable bottle is where the chance for love begins. Ultimately this a great store for mid-​20 and early 30-​somethings who are getting to know wine. There were a lot of great deals and hey I was even able to find a reasonably priced bottle of Champagne (yes, the real stuff not the sparkles).
Atlantic Cellars is worth a peek.

You know those days when you need a nice bottle of wine, close to your apartment, super last minute? And it’d be a bonus if there was a nice local place you could support in the process? And you don’t want a fussy place that makes you feel like you need to refine your palate just to enter…
Atlantic Cellars is the perfect place! They treat you like a regular on your first visit, and have a diverse selection that’s all priced at $ 12 to make decision making on a budget super simple. There is a nice selection of whiskys etc if you want to go that route… They all seem to be local and small batch brands, which would make them nice hostess gifts for the right occasion.
It’s also super convenient to the hoardes of people getting off the C train at Clinton-​Washington or Franklin Avenues.

Their selection is nice, and the wines are good.
I’ve only ever had delivery, and that has been an absolute disaster. They’ve yet to get my order right. You have to get at least 3 bottles to have them deliver, yet they’ve never delivered me more than 2. While they are quick and friendly, and fairly apologetic for the mistakes they make, I’d rather they not have a 100% failure rate and keep shorting me.

Atlantic Cellars is a business that I have to remind myself actually exists every so often. It’s unbelievable because it is just so good.
First, the staff is beyond friendly and helpful. They aren’t even like, fake «I am doing my job» friendly but are really just nice people who seem to love their job.
Also, this place has a great selection AND delivers. They deliver quickly and with little (or no?) minimum. Usually wine places make you buy around 60 $ worth of wine and send it at the end of the day. Not Atlantic Cellars. You could order a pizza and a bottle of Chianti at the same time and it would be a toss up who got there first.
Honestly I have nothing bad to say about this place.
If you’re reading this, Atlantic Cellars, I think I love you.

Atlantic Cellars has been a great and evolving addition to the neighborhood since it opened four years ago. Their current design makes picking wine easier as they now put their wines into categories (light and crisp weather is upon us!) and 90% of the bottles are 13 bucks. I’ve definitely still be able to rely on them for $ 20+ bottles for gifts/​special occasions. They also have a great whiskey selection.

I live in the neighborhood and i went into this little cute wine store to buy a bottle of wine to drink with my wife.
Nero D’avola Angelo from Sicily was my final choice and was a good one. As i expected was fruity and full. Good deal price/​quality.
Manager was helpful and nice.

I was on a mission to buy a few bottles for a BYO party nearby, and Atlantic Cellars TCOB. My man James behind the counter was quick and helpful; he gave me the rundown on their selection, of which nearly everything costs an even $ 13 (tax included), and helped make the tough decisions.
With his eager assistance, I was in and out in minutes, and completely free to deal with a minor personal crisis (all the wine I bought certainly helped). I must admit that I wasn’t blown away by any of the choices we made, but admittedly, they were $ 13 bottles of wine. I wasn’t expecting miracles.
As I walked out, I also realized how vulnerable I was with both hands full of multiple bottles of wine, walking through Clinton Hill. Someone could’ve come up and pinched my cheeks, or tickled me, and I would’ve been completely at their mercy.
Thank goodness I made it through unscathed.

Stopped by on my way to the BYOB YEE at Belli Osteria. It’s in a wasteland stretch of Atlantic and seemed to take forever to get to in the rain from the Clinton-​Washington stop on the C. But I’m glad I checked it out. It’s a limited selection boutique-​style shop, so don’t expect extensive catalogs of wine if you are picky.
The conceit seems to be keeping everything (or almost everything) at under $ 13, and indeed a lot of the bottles clocked in at that price point. The guy at the store was pleasant and recommended a bottle to try that he liked. It was a nice red (supposedly the cousin grape of Malbec) from France (I think) and made a nice light-​bodied sipper at the event.

This place doesn’t look like your typical liquor store. First off, it’s really in the middle of nowhere… not sure how they stay in business. There have chairs you can lounge in as if in a doctor’s waiting room and the bottles are very much ‘on display’ vs. there to be sold. I alllmost felt like I had stepped into a smokeless cigar lounge.
Two reasons this place only got two stars:
1. The largest size of Jack Daniels they carry is a 750ml for $ 35. Common…
2. When I asked if that was the largest they had, the cashier very obviously judged me with her eyebrow raise and said something like «Woah…I guess it is a Saturday night.»
Excuse me, but you should keep your pie hole shut. It’s not exactly a pastime of mine to walk half a mile for my liquor every day. I like to buy in bulk thank you very much. And even if I were going to drown my sorrows in the largest handle of Jack you had, what does it matter to you? Doesn’t that violate some sort of liquor store cashier etiquette? Wouldn’t it be crossing the line if a cashier working at a clothes store gave you a weird look for buying that pink suede jacket?
Don’t sell the damn pink jacket if you’re going to judge people for buying it.
From now on I’ll be buying my liquor elsewhere… where the Jack isn’t sold in mini-​bottles and the cashiers don’t give a damn.

The location of this place is a bit tricky, but if you’re in the area it’s worth going out of your way when you’re looking for a well-​priced bottle of wine. This place recently switched ownership and has greatly improved.
It’s not big enough to carry everything, or buy deep deals to be able to offer low prices on mainstream products. However, the store does an awesome job at carrying an excellent selection. You might not know every brand, but the people there are super helpful if you need help.
And if you’re really into wine, you can geek out a little bit too. My first purchase here was a $ 16 red Macon and my second was an $ 18 Blaufrankisch – fun wines that work with my budget. Big win for the area.

Finally got a chance to go there in person to pick up a bottle for a pasta dinner. Very simple, clean, open space (I missed the pooch.), with friendly owners. Daniel recommended a wine that was excellent with homemade pasta (and my friends are Italians, born and raised, and they commended on the great wine, so double points!)
Overall, such a great addition to Clinton Hill/​Prospect Heights border. I will make a conscious effort to go there for all my wine needs and support, as well as spread the word.

What’s a smart little wine shop doing on Atlantic Avenue, next to the auto body shops, cut-​rate storage facilities, and general unpleasantness that is the area? I don’t know, really, but as someone who finds himself wandering in the gray zone between Clinton Hill and Prospect Heights from time to time, I’m not complaining.
The store, as the friendly owners will tell you, was recently converted from a «bulletproof» glass sorta liquor store, and it seems they’ve had to move somewhat slowly since it came down. There’s a seriously cute little dog running around the cavernous space, and a (somewhat surprising) «tweedy» table, lamp, chair and bookcase towards the back of the store, but aside from that, the store has little in the way of charm as of yet. A few sets of steel shelves stocked with an interesting, informed but smallish selection of wines (the kind a former wine director from Il Bucco – the owner – would buy) that start pretty cheap and wind up at «not too expensive.» Lotsa neat varietals, natch, with an oenophiles emphasis on less traversed regions like Alsace, Germany, Spain, Chile, Sicily, etc. which make it fun to choose a bottle.
The liquor selection is really quite tiny, though, and it seems possible the proprietors are planning on phasing it out sometime soon. (One type of tequila, one or two gins, etc.) Not that this move would be a terrible shame, especially if they increased their wine selection to compete with well-​stocked area standouts Olivino, Thirst and The Greene Grape. That might take a while, but hopefully they’ll stay the course.

One day I walk around the corner from my apartment and pay cash for a dusty bottle of rum that sat behind three inches of bullet proof glass. A week later I throw on jeans and trudge out in the rain to get some liquor for get together, and I am shocked to find a classy neighborhood wine shop has appeared as if by magic.
Atlantic Cellars is a welcome addition to this the border of Prospect and Crown Heights, especially for me. I live around the corner, I love to cook, and now I have a place to go to where I know I can get a great bottle of wine at a reasonable price (and stock up on supplies to fill my flask.)
The best part of Atlantic Cellars (other than the tastings they have seemingly every weekend) is that the owners are very approachable and extremely knowledgeable. On New Years Eve co-​owner and former sommelier Daniel was recommended some of the best champagne I have ever had and packed me up with enough trivia about the bubbly to impress the hell out of my friends when the stroke of midnight came. Out of this world customer service.
