Best gauc made to order. Salsa is über fresh. Nice service. Very little English today. If you like foot ball, they are playing the game. Also no one in this hip hop hood seems to be up so is not crowded:). The burger my bf had was one of the best we ever had! The ingredients of cheese, onion, jalapeños, bacon, some special sauce stayed together well. The neat was also good. It was too much food for us at brunch but that’s a good thing. The omelette was okay. I like things folded inside not cooked through out. But if your LOVE mushrooms, you will really adore it. Came w toast and home fries. Large Marge portion. Ate my bf’s sweet pot fries w chipotle mayo. Very tasty.

If I could give this place zero stars I would; we just got an order delivered and got two orders of nachos, almost $ 10 each. We got 7 chips, which were soggy from the thinly spread layer of refried beans on top of them, and they covered 4 slices of jalepeno and maybe a spoonful of guac. On top of a few pieces of lettuce with salad dressing. THEWORSTMONEY I HAVEEVERSPENT. Starving right now. Never ordering from here again.

Love this place! Great location and great ambiance inside. Didn’t realize there was outdoor seating but I’ll definitely be trying it out when it gets warm out. Their margaritas are incredible, I usually like the spicy mango and it really has a great kick to it, super sweet and spicy. I got the chicken burrito and it was amazing, so filling with chicken beans and rice. I also recommend the tacos, can never go wrong with that. Also, they only accept cash and Amex but they have an ATM

The food was excellent but service was s long wait and the net at the door stating that they now take American Express will make you believe they take credit cards and they don’t other then my girlfriend having to get cash at their atm everything was good

Food is a 5, the prices are a 3(maybe even 2), so I’m giving it a 4. I had the enchiladas, the portion wasn’t too big, but they were really good. A burrito is like $ 13(really?), so I decided I might as well go with enchiladas($ 14.50). It’s not a fancy place either, but I guess it’s new Bushwick rents. The other thing that bothered me is the only accept Mastercard… wtf? If you’re going to be pricey, I don’t see how you can also only accept cash!

If this review was based on the food only hell I’d give them 10 stars. This is some really good mexican food and I LOVEEEEEEE mexican food. But this review isn’t based solely on the food HAHAGOTEMMMM. j/k Anyway! What restaurant you know only takes cash and Amex. Who the hell gives a damn about an Amex in Bushwick? This isn’t Midtown! They better start accepting the regular Visa and Mastercard gang… or just keep it straight cash. But American Express, like really? This is a $$ restaurant not $$$$, but enough of that complaint. I was upset because upon entering this place I preferred to sit in the backyard and asked our waiter who indeed let me down by saying«it’s closed right now». Once it was time for us to go(less than an hour later) the backyard just suddenly opens. Really? –_– So although the ATM is $ 2.50 and the margaritas are made with 101% domino’s sugar I absolutely had a good time here. Very chill and laid back environment and the food is way too good to even have a slight dislike about this place. I’ll be back over and over and over again!

They’re now only taking CASH and AMEX. They also now automatically add tip(20%). They’re hiring staff members that do not speak English.(Probably much cheaper.) No longer give you chips and salsa for free and their entire menu has been cut down. What’s going on? Is the rent too damn high?

Yet another disappointing east coast Mexican food experience. The service here is terrible. My friends and were the only people here on a Monday night, but still we were ignored, and our tacos took over 45 minutes to arrive. My friend ordered a beer that never arrived. The food wasn’t terrible, but was not good. Guacamole tasted defrosted, veggie tacos were boring and overpriced. The salsa verde was tasteless and not spicy whatsoever. One of my corn tortillas was completely raw. My friends, who are white dudes from New York, thought the food was good. I completely disagree. The outdoor seating area is really beautiful and spacious. I would come here and drink a beer… if it ever arrives.

This restaurant will honestly get 5 starts if they get their payment issue correct which I’m sure a lot of people probably don’t understand. My friends and I had a great night out and the food was legit awesome! Their drinks were very good and exactly what you would need for a good night out. Towards the end, we recently came across an issue for paying the bill and was told we were supposed to pay with only American Express cards. Let me say that I did not notice that until I was looking around for a sign stating this and found it on their door in small print. I’m sure the neighborhood that they are located in majority of the people living in the area do not carry just American Express. This wasn’t convenient but in all we had a good time. Please fix this!

Mesa has a small but perfectly adequate menu if you’re content with the staples. Service was confusing and confused — we were seated by, waited on, and served by three different people, and had to finally go to the bar to settle up. To be fair, we visited Mesa during Bushwick open studios and the place was probably more crowded than usual. Food was excellent, but overpriced. At $ 12 a burrito, you’re better off going to the Tortillaria around the corner. My girlfriend’s frozen margarita seemed to be about 5oz. for $ 7. To make it more confusing, the place is cash and AmEx only(AmEx only? Seriously?). The patio area is perfect for a summer afternoon. Bottom line for me, not being a brooklynite, is that I can’t justify shelling out $ 20 for lunch that costs $ 10 elsewhere. Pass.

I really loved this place the first time I went to dinner with my husband. But when I went for brunch on Sunday I had a horrible experience. I’m not sure if it was the lack of training & organization of the servers or the young age of the servers but definitely there was bad management. We were seated promptly outside in the patio. The hostess was nice and accommodating. Everything was fine until we received our food. To start of I received a burger which had no top bun. When my server came back he came back with the bun top on the plate and said«sorry is that your bun fell» … In my mind I was like what you mean fell??? To the floor? … I just blinked and was confused… We needed a refill on drinks which never arrived until we finished our meal. We kept asking for hot salsas for at least 5 times and were given almost at the end of our meal. And our server said they were out of hot salsas and gave us a mild sauce meanwhile the tables next to us had on their tables. I pointed that out at the end of our meal and the server said«Sorry they told me there was no more hot salsas and I did not know … I just started my shift»… my husband said the tacos were bland so that’s why he wanted to make it spicy… To top it off my mothers order never arrived … Our party was all finished and we were still waiting for her order… We were trying to be understanding because they were busy but then the table next to us received their burritos and they had arrived after us… That’s when we decided to cancel because it was unacceptable… All in all the servers seemed to not prioritize … And they seemed like they needed bussers maybe. I will probably come back here for there drinks but for brunch I hardly doubt it.

Mesa Azteca is our neighborhood favorite. The staff is LOVELY! Tips: 1. GETTHENACHOS! Plate of about 10 chips, but each chip is FULLYLOADED. 2. Margs on margs on margs. The drinks are amazing. Often we have one too many! Pitchers are available for thirsty guests and groups! 3. Enjoy the patio in the nice weather

We came here once with my friends and we had a wonderful experience. The food was excellent, the service was impeccable and most of all they have a live Mariachi band! Loved everything about this place. Will definitely come back again.

I’ve been coming here for so long and can’t believe I haven’t posted a review. My favorites are the Classic and Tamarindo Frozen Margaritas, the ceviche, shrimp burrito, and guacamole(I’m getting hungry just typing this) ! Everything is pretty much amazing. I’ve always had attentive servers and never waited long for my food or drinks. This is one of my go to spots with friends and family.

Just stopped in for some chips and salsa on this lazy, sunny Sunday. Tamarind margarita was lethal as per usual and the salsa was as muy picante as ever. Looking forward to the summer with a pitcher and some tacos.

I’ve eaten at Mesa Azteca twice now, once for delivery and once for dinner. I’ve heard the brunch is great, but my experience so far has been mixed. The place is cute and I think it has a nice outdoor area in the back that I’d like to try. Service was fine, although they did seem eager to take our plates and rush us out at the end. The margarita was quite good, I would definitely get a pitcher next time. When I first ordered from here on seamless, I got a vegetarian burrito and it was not good. Extremely bland and seemed to contain frozen mixed veggies(green beans, carrots, and maybe broccoli??). That put me off of coming back for about a year but my next experience was better. I ordered the vegetarian enchiladas which were very large and had a delicious green sauce. Dishes here are a little pricey for the quality of the food, which is pretty standard for Mexican food in NYC. The guac was good but again, nothing has really stood out as being particularly creative or delicious. The brunch menu looks great and I’ve heard good things so I will go back to try it.

HELLO best margaritas EVER — and they come in a pitcher. Am I in heaven? The food is really good. my go to’s are: Guac(mmm I love me some guac) Chicken Burrito The burger is AMAZEBALLS and comes with Sweet Potato Fries Chicken Enchilladas. They have a Mariachi band on Friday nights… apparently they always think its my birthday and start singing numerous happy birthday songs… EVERYTIME. But they’re really sweet and its fun. If I’m going for lunch I’ll opt for the outdoor seating since its really cute and spacious. The one thing I’d like to try is their brunch, for some reason it always slips my mind that they serve brunch. Try it. Even if its just for the margaritas, trust me — they are THAT good.
