I love this place. It’s cheap and close and they are nice to dogs. It opens at 9am! You get your coffee across the street and some knockoff Bailey’s to go with, that’s a perfect Saturday morning.

They have a lot of liquors, but their wine selection spans from low quality to not horrible. I mean, when a place runs buy-one-get-another-for-one-cent deals on wines, that should tell you something about the quality. Also, strange thing happened after I bought a bottle. I told the guy at the register that I didn’t need a bag since I was just walking up the block to my friends’ house. And he said that you get a $ 115 fine for having a wine bottle in public. I’m 99% he was full of it. Considering an open container violation in NYC is just $ 25, and the fact that what he said just didn’t make sense. What a strange, strange man.

On Saturday afternoon when it’s time for Mojitos, someone has to make the run for supplies. Turns out that someone was me. I stopped in here for the baccardi. Price was right, service was fast, and I was in and out in just a few minutes. Then around the corner for mint, limes, and jalapenos(yep the secret ingredient) and then back to make the mojitos. Perfect!

I’ve been shopping here for over ten years. These guys really know their booze! The staff is very friendly and have turned me on to a couple of my favorite spirits.

This place has been here forever! Full of experience, very knowledgeable. They can usually suggest a better, cheap version of whatever your looking for. The very friendly owners, quick and sweet as they maybe couldn’t talk me out of my Malibu! Huge selection, check this place out, well worth it.

This is an old school store with funny smells, dusty bottles and friendly, neighborhood owners who can recommend a boozy cure for almost whatever ails you. If you’re a vodka fan, don’t spend money on Stoli – get the Russian generic, Ghzelka. The shopkeeper with the grey curly hair insists that this is the same stuff – after five summers enjoying vodka lemonades made with the stuff, I have to agree! If you’re too busy/lazy/tired to walk three blocks to De Wine Spot at Lorimer and Ten Eyck, and decide to gamble on a bottle of wine at Lorimer Liquors, know that if it’s bad, they’ll be nice about taking it back. Rumor has it they’re getting the boot soon(along with Beehive) and that they’ll be setting up shop in the city. I’ll be sorry to see them go.

Great place for the budget lush to pick up several bottles of drinkable wine. The prices on bottles average a dollar or two more for the area so the key is to take them up on the«3 for the price of 2» deal. It more than makes up for it, and unless you’re entertaining more than 2 people, you’ll probably be set. There is a guy who sits outside talking crazy to himself and will call you all manner of names in a bizarre attempt to get you to hand over some change(he once called me a «polack»). Slight drawback, but more hilarious than harmful.
