My go-to takeout restaurant growing up. I can’t even count the number of times I’ve gone here but this place never disappoints. Everything I’ve had here is great– from the authentic to the typical takeout fare — their soups(wonton, hot and sour), egg rolls, beef lo mein, curry chicken, pepper steak, chicken with broccoli, sweet and sour chicken, sesame chicken, fried chicken wings with fries, etc etc. You can’t go wrong. Prices are a steal. I’ve been spoiled by this place because I’ve never found a place as solid. Considering the quantity and quality of food, it’s unbelievable what Long River provides. Even a decade later, you can get the lunch special(main entrée plus fried rice plus soup or drink) for less than 5 dollars. In 2016.(!!!) This place has been around for as long as I can remember and I hope that it never goes anywhere. The store has changed slightly over the years but it’s always as good as I remember. It’s unassuming with a few tables to eat in, but they have a loyal takeout following for sure. At a few points, they had various gaming machines/claw machines in store that I would play as I waited for my food… Not sure if they’re still there though. Looking forward to the next time I can go in! Call ahead for pickup and your piping hot, delicious food will be waiting for you when you arrive.

This Chinese deli was so great. I enjoyed ordering chow main and fun from here. The main was with large volume and less oil. It was pretty healthy than another one at the 59th Subway. The shrimps were fresh, as well as the veggies. The deli was large but somewhat empty. Haha there were more take-out than dine in. Lol

A nice place to eat, the food is good but the staff sucks two punk rock dudes behind the counter very rude and always get the wrong order. They are cheap with the packages of soy sauce and duck sauce. They are always asking if you want soy sauce and duck sauce I thought it comes with the order. I live around the neighborhood and I saw a dude bringing a big bag of chicken legs on the back of his motorcycle when the bag had a hole and some chicken legs fell out to the street ground and the dude put it back in the bag and when in the Chinese restaurant… The food taste good but the staff is nasty, rude and dont really care what they give you to eat… ewwwww

I just moved to the area and this place is on the same block as my apartment, so naturally I wanted to try it. I got the fried dumplings, and they were pretty good. The outside wasn’t rubbery and the filling was plentiful and spiced just right. The crew behind the counter was entertaining to watch, one guy looked like a hipster from the East Village and would be speaking loud Chinese but as soon as the phone would ring, he spoke perfect English in a low tone and used interesting street slang. For the food, I would give 3 stars, because it is good, but probably no different than any other Chinese take-out place. They are a dime a dozen in NYC. The reason they get 4 stars is because of how they handled a bad situation that unfolded while I was there eating my dumplings. A drunk woman stumbled in and asked me for money or a phone cause she had an emergency. I declined, and she screamed at me that I «Stole her phone call». She then went behind the counter, stole a Snapple from the cooler and proceeded to exit. One of the male employees tried to stop her and she went ballistic, screaming at him and punching at him to «Keep your fucking hands off of me». A small female employee joined the action and began pushing the highly intoxicated thief out of the store while grabbing the Snapple out of her hands. The drunk chic fought back, but the little Asian woman stood her ground, screaming things at her in Chinese while dumping the Snapple over the woman as she was finally exiting the store. The drunk woman left, screaming, covered in Snapple — and the employees went back to work as if nothing happened. Great job, guys.

This place has been around for a long time. My family for reasons love their Chicken Fried Rice, and it is good. So that’s what we order anytime we need to Chinese take out. At the physical location of the reataurant itself, there is place to sit and eat, but take out is naturally preferred. The food here is typical Chinese food take out, so that’s that. Because of food quality, I don’t believe that this place will be out of business anytime soon.
