What a fantastic place — go — you won’t be disappointed. From the moment you walk in they are so nice and helpful. The manicurist took her time and did a beautiful job. It was all the little things that made the difference for me. They added a little bead in the water to soak your hands. File and clean nicely. Then afterwards they polish one hand and you put it under the dryer while they polish the other. This cuts down on messing them up if they are a little wet. Then while you are drying your nails at the drying station they massage your shoulders for a bit. It was definitely worth it. I can’t wait to back.

Love them. Very clean, to the point of being anal(which is a good thing to be anal about.) Variety of services are offered. Most of the technicians actually speak and understand English(HUGE plus when communicating your needs.) They are a bit on the pricey side(hence why I took away a star,) but it is a SPA-like environment and you’re paying for quality. I always use May, because she is always on top of her game. Overall, love them and use them all the time. PS — they do not do JUST regular manicure on weekends. You have to get more pricier services in order to score a weekend appt.

I came here one day to get a simple manicure an hour before closing and they told me no. They told me they couldn’t see me. For a manicure? Really? I will not come here again.

I went to this salon on my day off as a special treat. I’m originally from Flatbush and decided to go to a different area to have a different experience. When I arrived the staff was hesitant at first but ultimately friendly and accommodating. I would say walking in, that I was very uncomfortable because I could tell that many African American women do not frequent the salon because the Caucasian clientele was uneasy or flashed dirty looks towards me. So this is one of the reasons I would not go back. The staff are all licensed(I think). The person who did my nails was Jennifer. She was very friendly and thorough with shaping my nails. The nails for the tips looked very natural. I brought my own nail color but they supply Essie and OPI nail polish which are over the counter high quality nail polishes. Gel seems to be their specialty. Unfortunately, they do not supply designs or jewels which is the second reason I wouldn’t go back. Also the prices are way to high if you get your nails done regularly. They charge $ 70 for a french manicure! whoa. For that amount I can get me eyebrows, pedicure, tips, maybe add few jewels, and a tip. Also they really take their time which is good if you’re not doing much that day. But I was on a time limit and it took an hour to do my nails. The time there was way too long. So I won’t go back. The pro is that they sterilize every thing, i think that’s why they charge more too. I would say go to a good local salon and bring your own tools to avoid fungus. I would say in terms of the service, it is worth going to just for the experience but if you are African American beware. You don’t want to feel uneasy when trying to be relaxed and pampered.

I actually love this nail salon and I wish it were in my neighborhood. The décor is very chic and the salon is extremely clean, price is expensive but you are paying for exceptional service. I received powdered extension as it was my first time doing the process I felt more than comfortable. Recommended highly!

Well done May! May did my eye brows and gel manicure and it was flawless! The eye brows turned out natural and beautiful– it was a painless procedure and done within minutes! One look at the mirror and I knew it was done right. As for the gel manicure, May was patient enough to go through my top 4 color choices. Due to some restrictions at work, I have to carefully pick a nail polish that is work approved. She took the time to show me how each color looked like on her nails. I was very satisfied with the outcome when my nails were done. The place looked neat, elegant and clean. There were a handful of customers even though it is a weekday unlike any other nail salons I’ve come across in Bay Ridge– that says a lot about this place! :) I’m happy and will come back again!!! :)

I came here for a girls day with with my mom and sister. The moment we walked through the door, the first two things I noticed was that it didn’t smell like chemicals, it smelled really good, and the place was really clean. Everyone worker was nice, we were greeted hello and goodbye by all of them. I also like the décor of the place, very modern. They also offered you water. We made appointments. I’m really happy we did because they allowed us to sit together. Other places when I show up with a friend always separate us. We had the mani-pedi and 10 min massage package each. I was attended by Amy, she was really good. Normally my mani-pedis take a while because I have large nail beds, but she did such a good job! It was faster than I expected. The massage was definitely worth it. While your nails are drying, they give you a quick minute upper back massage. After my nails dried, they put plastic wrap on my toes and helped me put my shoes on. The whole package deal was $ 38 per person. If you pay cash, they include the quick dry polish for free. I thought the price was more expensive than other locations in Bay Ridge, but the experience made it worthwhile. I recommend this place and if you can, ask for Amy! My sister had May and my mother had Chris, they were both sweet and great as well.

Love this place. The girls there are professional and they move FAST! It may be a bit pricier than any other Bay Ridge spot but it’s worth it coming here.

My go to nail salon in all of NYC. I’ve been a loyal customer for almost a year and I love this place. Clean and relatively spacious — I don’t ever feel like I’m too close to whomever is next to me. My favorite technician is Quennie for gel manicures and any type of pedicure. Her hands are magic and her attention to detail is amazing. But I’ve been to several other nail techs and they are all good too. If you’re getting a full set or a refill, I recommend Christina. She’s meticulous and quick — the best qualities in a nail tech. They’ve got many colors to choose from and their pedicures are all heavenly. Make an appointment so you’re not waiting for 30 – 45 minutes. I’ve been at all times of the day and on any day of the week and it’s always relatively packed. Sign up for their reward program to earn a free pedicure!

What a gem of a nail salon! I work in the area, but live in Queens and I wanted to switch it up. I Unilocaled best salons in Bay Ridge and LaToue was one of few that caught my eye. I read the reviews and compared it to other salon reviews. There was just something about the name and reviews that drew me in. I was a walk-in today and arrived shortly before 3pm. I was greeted and taken right away by Nicole. I have to first compliment the décor and space. It was so clean, modern, and calming. The music was similar to spa music and it was very relaxing to have in the background. All of the nail technicians wear black stretch pants and a comfortable black t-shirt which I think is perfectly casual to work in. It gives a very comfortable vibe to the place. (I’m also a huge fan of t-shirts!) I had gel already on my nails and was going for my 2week refresher. I was blown away by the variety of colors, brands, and amount of nail polish on the walls. I never seen so many shades of each color and all different types of glitter. The decision wasn’t easy, but I went with my mood and decided on a soft grey and silver glitter. My choice happened to be Nicole’s favorite color too, so I guess I picked out one of the best colors :) I am very pleased with my experience and will be back this Saturday for a pedicure. Thank you Nicole and ladies!

I really like this place! My first time here. I’ve been to a few of the highly rated nail spa’s in Bayridge and I’m a regular at Mimi’s but I like the ambience here a lot. They served me green tea, and the pedicure includes those jelly spa things that most spa pedicure includes. The only thing that they do not do but Mimi does is the parafin on the heels of the feet. I saw someone doing a gel mani and they provide gloves to protect customer’s hands from the UV rays. They are a little bit more pricey but given the ambience and service, I thought it was worth it. Will definitely be back.

Went in today as a walkin and had Jennifer. She did permanent French gel tips for me and did them wonderfully! Best nails I’ve ever gotten. The salon was beautiful and so so peaceful and quiet. Service was great. A bit pricy but I think the quality is worth the money ! Also got eyebrow waxing which also they did great! Made my follow up appointment before I left ! I’ll definitely be back.

I have had my nails done at tons of random places around New York, so I have somewhat low expectations when I go to a new salon. I recently moved to Bay Ridge, and wanted to explore some neighborhood nail places. Joanne did my nails, and they have never been done this well EVER. I’m serious! She has an extreme attention to detail and is a perfectionist. My nails looked so beautiful and natural. They have a large staff and I’m sure everyone else is amazing as well. I definitely recommend this salon if you live anywhere nearby. It’s worth the train ride!

Great service. I been there twice for gel mani by different ladies. I didn’t ask for their names, but they both did great job: very nice, patient, and experienced. the massage afterwards is such a bonus. $ 30 for mani. Hard to find in the city. Will go back for sure.

I like this salon, in fact I think it’s one of the better ones in Bay Ridge. However, on several occasions I have been unfortunate enough to have a nail tech that also acts as the receptionist. So, as she’s doing my pedi the phone will ring and she will walk across the entire salon, answer and schedule the appointment. That obviously takes me getting a mani/pedi twice as long. And that may not necessary be her fault, maybe her boss is too cheap to hire a full time receptionist but that wastes my time and lowers the quality of her work. I do love the salon itself, it has a nice relaxing vibe and my gel manicures last at least 2 weeks. I just wish I could say no to this lady when she approaches me but the salon is always so packed that I know I would end up having to wait another hour if I did.

I usually go to a salon not too far away from this one but my last experience as a customer there made me want to find a new salon. I was pleasantly surprised by the jelly foot bath when I came in for a mani-pedi. It’s a little more than what I’m used to paying($ 30 for mani-pedi) but for the overall experience I think it’s a nice little splurge for myself. Here’s what I liked: –THEYELLOWMUSHYJELLYFOOTBATH! –very clean –nice salon appearance –relatively large space –reminded me of a Manhattan version of a nice nail salon in Bay ridge What I didn’t like: –The woman who did my nails didn’t really fix one of them even when she saw it smudged. She just added another coat on top and you could still see the smudged polish. But hey 19 out of 20 isn’t too bad. –she made two fingers bleed when she was doing my cuticles. :( –when i went to dry my nails, my mini shoulder massage was about 10 – 15 seconds long. I saw other customers(with different associates) get longer massages. If you’re going to leave me high and dry, don’t bother giving me a half hearted massage!

To preface, the service I purchased was the $ 50 deal for color gel manicure + pedicure. I chose OPI’s Big Apple Red(be aware that Big Apple Red is brighter in its gel version than it is in it’s regular version). The services here are somewhat more expensive than those of the neighboring salons, but I find the exemplary customer service, as well as the work to be worth the price. My nail technician Nicole(who was a total sweetheart) was very attentive and detail oriented. We started with the pedicure; she asked if I would like something to drink but I declined. I observed the massage chairs and foot bath area to be clean and in working condition. Additionally, all tools used were sanitized. Their specialty, the jelly soak, was a complete delight. I watched as Nicole emptied the packets of green powder into my foot bath… to be honest, I wasn’t expecting it to be a big deal but it was so relaxing, so it’s definitely an experience I’d recommend. Nicole took her time with my pedicure, and asked for my preferences every step of the way, constantly checking if things were satisfactory to me. Afterwards, Nicole lead me to her work station where she trimmed and filed my(fairly gross) nails. We chatted about the salon, how work was for her, what I did for work, etc. The usual. She was very calm, polite, and sweet. She also took care of my raggedy cuticles and essentially made them presentable again. I did not feel rushed at all, and she didn’t try to push any additional services onto me, which I appreciated. The color gel manicure came out great, you can refer to the photo I posted. I highly recommend Latoue, and will be returning regularly!

I hate to do this. In fact I never do this but I am a firm believer in you should get at least close to what you pay for. I went in this past week and it wasn’t busy at all. I was taken care of by the lady at the first desk from the entrance. I wish I knew her name because I hate to bash the whole place when I know that she is the issue, not the establishment. I received a basic pedi and gel manicure. I’ve had my nails done in every fashion by dozens of salons throughout the years and never have I been so annoyed. I watched as the lady next to me received more care and detail in her pedi and when I asked for something specific she said no. Not sure she understood anything at all the employee next to her had to translate everything I said. Then the gel … Half cared attempt to what I can get for half the price, literally. Again the employee next to her put extra cuticle cream on her customer along with the usual hand cream, massaged her back double what my lady did … Thanks for the back slapping. Ugh. As I walked out there was a lady waiting for the next available … Who would be my lady from hell. I whispered to her to wait for someone else. Never have I had to do that. I hate how I sound just writing this but it had to be said. Avoid nail technician number 1. The 2nd lady speaks perfect English, try to get her or if all else fails … Anyone else or Mimi’s down the block! Bye kids.

I am super picky when it comes to my nails and always have a hard time finding a salon that knows how to do uv gel well. They are by far the best in bay ridge. Very clean and beautiful place.
