Specialties
We are an upscale craft cocktail & small plates bar. Both a destination and neighborhood favorite, Huckleberry Bar offers something for almost everyone – an extensive list of well-executed seasonal and classic cocktails, draft and bottled beers and well-structured, eclectic wines – old world and new. Our kitchen is open late every night and our private garden is open everyday until 1am. Our custom-built sound system gives us the ability to keep the volume just right, no matter the occasion. It is our commitment to hospitality and our caring, knowledgeable staff, however, that keep Huckleberry Bar above the fray, ensuring the fancy without the fussy.
History
Established in 2007.
Huckleberry Bar opened its doors on October 1, 2007. Creators and co-owners, Stephanie Schneider and Andrew Boggs had both worked at Danny Meyer outposts (Gramercy Tavern, Union Square Café), for years and met during the opening of Blue Smoke/Jazz Standard. They worked together again years later in the West Village and eventually found themselves living around the corner from one another in East Williamsburg.
Loud, dirty and surrounded by dive bars, Steph and Andy lamented the lack of quality neighborhood drinking spots and began devising a plan to bring excellence and hospitality to the place where they lived. After thoroughly picking the brains of friends they had worked with over the years, developing a business plan, and maxing out their credit cards – the perfect space was found — a former futon shop with an abandoned backyard filled with junk and rotting trees.

Manager
Huckleberry Bar was created from scratch, designed and constructed by BILT DFI, Aaron Schneider, Jason Boggs (Expeditious Earthscapes), and the owners themselves with an emphasis on natural and sustainable materials like lyptus woods, wrought iron, cork, tile and glass.
