I am very impressed with this hair salon. They have great customer service. I was seen at my appointment time. Facility is clean, and staff is friendly, time efficient, and professional. My hair stylist was very knowledgeable in styling and maintaining my hair type (natural, kinky). I’ll definitely be coming back.

The service was good, but I felt they didn’t have enough driers to take care of my hair properly. It wasn’t worth the cost which changed based on who you talk to on the phone.

I showed up with hair that was falling off of my head like pine needles on a dead tree 3 days after Christmas when all the gifts are gone except for the boxes filled with chunky sweaters, long johns and underwear.
I had a keratin treatment that completely stole my curl pattern, so picture it: natural hair that’s too straight to curl and not straight enough to hold a curl. So my hair was in a constant state of, «you need to do your hair» even though I did it daily.
I went to H2 because I needed a tapered cut. I needed my hair to have a shape so that when it turned into cotton candy, it would look fierce and modern.
Shar gave me exactly what I waneeded (want and needed at the same damn time)!! And for me, the most important element is that no one made me feel funny or embarrassed for walking in with my hair in the condition that it was in. And that matters.

I’m a little late with my review but I enjoyed my experience at H2 salon. I woke up one morning and I said to myself that today was the day that I go blonde. I wanted something drastically different. I came across H2 salon on Unilocal and I was impressed by the positive feedback. I called right away to see if they had any availability for that day and luckily they did. When I walked in the first thing I admired was the beautiful layout. I met with my stylist and we discussed some ideas for my hair. We decided to not color my entire head blonde but just the middle. I was a little hesitant but I ended up loving the style. Overall, I had a pleasant experience at the H2 salon and I urge you to give them a try if you haven’t already.

I’ve been natural all my life, but once I got to college I stopped taking care of my hair. I’ve been struggling with severe damaged ends for 5+ years after I picked my sisterlocs out. So I finally made the decision to cut my hair and I am SUPER happy with the results. I’ve never had my hair this short but I feel as though a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders (literally?) Lorraine did a wonderful job styling my hair into a tapered ‘fro; I can’t stop looking in the mirror! I feel so much more confident now.
The staff at H2 Brooklyn are very welcoming and genuine about making you look your best. My hair is squeaky clean thanks to Char and April — I even learned a few tricks about washing my hair type.
The prices are worth it. I’ve never spent this much on my hair before, but I don’t regret it one bit. This is my first experience getting my hair professionally done. From now on, I’m making all of my hair appointments at H2 Brooklyn!

This place is amazing. My first visit was a little less than a week ago and the entire time I felt pampered. My hair was looking all kinds of crazy (George Jefferson sideburns and a small rat tail) and Carmen knew exactly what to do. I have a TWA and she heard my needs for shaping/​styling/​length retention since I’m growing my hair out. Through each step, Carmen and Lorraine (salon assistant) walked me through everything they were doing and gave me suggestions for maintaining my hair. Even better, the compliments reminded me that my hair is cute as hell. Lol. Carmen cut my hair into a cute tapered TWA. It’s shorter than I expected but I love it, so win. She also helped me get my first wash n go together. Keracare gel isn’t really my friend, since it made my hair flake within a few days, but the style held up. I enjoyed the place so much that I booked a follow-​up appointment for my birthday in early January. This place is THAT good. I can’t wait for my next visit!
Pro tip — H2Salon is cash only. Services are pricy but you’re paying for quality services, so it’s worth the investment.

Today I had an appointment with Carmen at H2. I have to say this was one of the best hair appointments I’ve every had. I have never chopped my hair off in 37 years of my life. Carmen made me feel comfortable and at easy. She was very professional, explained what she wanted to do with my hopes for a tapered look and tips on how to care for my hair going forward and well as the cut. In the words of Lil Rick (bajan soca artist) «ah like muhself». Can’t stop smiling. I’m so happy and in love with my new cut. Thanks to Carmen and H2Salon for hooking me up today.

I had been following them on their Instagram page for a while. Late last month, I made up my mind that I wanted a tapered cut and since I remember their work on their IG page and that their location is super close to where I live, I booked with them. It’s definitely easy to walk past the place but once you go inside, you are enveloped in a hair salon sanctuary. The décor is cozy, clean and chic and the receptionist is super friendly and welcoming. Upon arrival, my coat and scarf were taken and I was ushered to my stylist right away. I was also offered a warm or cold beverage.
My stylist was Carmen and she was amazing! I showed her pictures for an idea of what I wanted and she delivered. I’m so happy with my cut and will definitely be back in a few months. She was warm and very professional; everyone was welcoming and professional for that matter. I didn’t find their prices unreasonable for what I wanted. I paid $ 125 for a wash, condition and cut. For the quality of the experience, level of service I received and happiness with my cut, it was a $ 150 (after tip) well spent! I’ll be back.

This salon is A1 !!! Seriously wish I found them sooner they are honestly super good ! The whole salon is very nice ! Great furniture ! Great everything ! The energy is great ! The receptionist I didn’t get her name but she has long twist or braids is very nice !!! I got a tapered cut there and Dailey was showing the girls Carmen, uh-​de-​ya, Lorraine how to do it and they all got to try it was very cool ! They are all funny ! And they did a great job !!! I got a lot of great compliments ! Seriously if u tired of the «hood» salons I would definitely go here it’s worth it ! I’m going to be going back pretty soon !!! They all did a great job ! I really loved it there and all the customers that were there all loved there hair styles that were done on them! Also all hair stylist hair looked awesome ! It’s easy to walk pass this place but once u walk in you will wonder why u didn’t come sooner ! Every one is awesome there I really love this place !

I went to H2 after a stylist at another salon cancelled on me last minute. I saw the excellent reviews on Unilocal about H2 and decided to give it a try. I’ve been very hesitant about going to salons since my big chop 2 years ago. That being said, H2 left me with such a positive experience.
This salon is so aesthetically pleasing. As soon as you enter the door you feel relaxed. The receptionist is very polite. You are offered a beverage after checkin. I felt welcomed. I was squeezed in for a last minute, same day appointment with Camille. She is very pleasant! I received a wash, deep condition, press and cut. She offered suggestions and was not pushy at all. My natural hair needed much work! My ends were dry, brittle and damaged from lack of trimming since my BC. She gave my hair life with an excellent cut. I will definitely return in 8 weeks.

I expected my hair style to be great especially when a Relaxer, Cut, and Style cost $ 150 minimum, but I did not expect such an attentive stuff, the beautiful ambiance, and my stylist Camille who was so sweet and personable. The cost was SO WORTH IT for this amazing cut. She gave me tips on lasting care, specific products to get since she too had short hair, and she was effortlessly warm and very very inviting. This is truly a hidden gem! You’ve certainly found yourself a return customer!

I went to H2 salon after 3 years of avoiding dealing with my hair, and I was nervous and didn’t know what to expect. I had Camille working with me and she was so mellow and well versed in different hair types that I immediately felt at ease. She answered all of my questions patiently (I had many!) and was sure to walk me through every step of what she did so I could replicate it at home. In my trim she didn’t cut too much (my biggest fear) and at no point did they try to talk me into additional treatments or to buy products. It was all about what I wanted and what my hair needed!
Camille and Char (who was also lovely) gave me a lot of tips on how to deal with my hair, and I feel a lot more confident in keeping it healthy.
I am so relieved to have found the perfect hair salon for my hair needs! H2 is a professional, thoughtful and skilled salon. Worth every penny! You won’t regret it!!!

I recently moved to NY from DC and I was frantically searching for a new hair home but wasn’t having much luck. That is until I found H2 BK. No personal recommendations, I just happened upon them through online searches. THANK YOU INTERNET.
First of all, the salon is gorgeous, yall. Like wait am I in a hotel or a hair salon? Super clean, they’re constantly sweeping hair and making sure it looks spotless. I loved that. All the staff are super friendly and seem very knowledgeable about what they do. Every single person I saw walk out after they were done looked fabulous. I knew I came to the right place.
Went with a twist out because it was too hot for these edges to do anything else and Lorraine was my stylist. Love Lorraine! She was so nice considering the sad state my hair was in and gave me tips throughout the whole process on how to better take care of it. Not to mention, my twist out came out fantastic. I was literally a walking H2 BK ad. Non stop compliments from any and everyone, the entire time I was wearing the style. Suddenly I felt like all those natural hair girls on YouTube. I didn’t even know my hair could curl that way. For all my ladies who have hair that doesn’t listen, you know what I mean!
Anyway all this to say, YASSSSS H2 BK you did that!
P.S — they give you a hair prescription at the end of your visit listing all the products they use etc so you can get them for yourself at home. Can they get much higher? *Kanye voice*

I thoroughly enjoyed my time at this salon. The interior design is absolutely FABULOUS and my stylist, Lorraine, was super sweet. She assessed the state of my transitioning natural hair and gave me sound advice. I came in for a treatment, haircut, and twist-​out. My haircut feels amazing and fresh which leaves me excited to continue on my natural hair journey.
I’m giving this review 4 stars for two reasons: 1) services are a bit pricey so I definitely won’t be making frequent stops, and 2) the salon is cash only which is somewhat inconvenient. There is an ATM inside which is a huge PLUS except for the associated fees.
I shall return in about 3-​months for my next scheduled cut. It’s conveniently located in my neck-​of-​the-​woods and the staff are super professional. Try it out!

I had a Wednesday evening appointment with the junior stylist name Lorraine. I came in for a cut, wash, and natural styling. The salon is very clean and well maintained. They had nice R&B tunes playing in the background while the smell of scented candles filled the air. The décor of the waiting area and salon floor is tasteful. The A/​C unit was on which means that they don’t want thier clients to sweat out their style while they are in the salon. I sat in the waiting area and was greeted by Char.
Char took me to the salon floor where I met Lorraine for the first time. Although Lorraine was with another client she came over to me immediately to introduce herself and asked what I wanted to do with me hair today. As a client of Miss Jessie’s Hair Salon, I informed her I needed to get a hair cut that would work with me natural style/​curls and look good as it grew out. Lorraine analyzed my hair then explained the process that she would take for cutting my hair. She would wash and condition then blow dry it straight to cut my hair. I also alerted Lorraine how I have allergies to many hair and cosmetic products so I bring my own products from home. Lorraine was completely understanding of my allergies and let the other stylist know that I could only use my own products.
Char then took me to the shampoo station to wash my hair. I would say that Char seems more introverted upon first impression but is quite sweet. She has a wonderful singing voice as well, being that she was singing along to the background music. However she forgot to remove her ring and bracelets as she was washing my hair and that made for an unpleasant shampooing session. I could feel her ring and bracelets pull at my hair a few times, NOT GOOD! Nobody needs unnecessary breakage. Next time I will definitely voice my concern if anyone is to wash my hair with jewelry on their fingers. I did not mention it initially since I was unsure if it was a comb or jewelry. OUCH!
Char then sat me in the chair and blow dried my hair. Then Lorraine took over and blow dried it further and proceeded to cut the split ends and shape my hair. As she cut, Lorraine told me that I needed only to come every 4 months for a cut and that I could use my conditioner to style my hair when I’m doing a wash and go as oppose to the light hold gel I liked to use. After cutting my hair, Lorraine took me back to the wash station to wet my hair and apply the styling product to my hair and sat me under the hair dryer. I sat down and took a nice nap, seriously I was tired from work. Lorraine came to check on me periodically to see if my hair had dried evenly. When I was all dry she brought me back to the chair and used the blow dryer to add volume to my look. I LOVE BIG HAIR!
When it was time to pay, $ 85.00USD, their credit card machine was down so I walked to a nearby Chase Bank to get cash. Along the way to the bank I got so many compliments and stares and I knew it was because my hair looked good. Point blank LORRAINE KNOWS HOW TO WHIP THAT BUTTER BABY! I was getting compliments from young and old, I even had a few cars stop in the middle of traffic to tell me I’m what’s up!
I will definitely return again to H2 Salon and would strongly recommend this place. Lorraine definitely won my trust and gave me confidence that there are salons that can cater to naturalistas. The services, prices, and quality were all on par and I did not have to break the piggy bank. I will give future updates.
All in all I’m super thrilled that I found a new place that can wash, condition, cut and style natural hair!

I was referred to this salon by 2 different people. I was told they can actually DO natural hair. And both of the people who referred me have different textures of hair. So I was sold.
I called and made an appointment. They even called me the day before to reconfirm. Which I appreciated. My previous stylist cared 0 about appointments lol. They even told me how much it would cost and that they only accepted cash. Now I do not know WHAT salon does that. Often times, they say «I don’t know I have to see your hair first»
Upon my arrival, I was about 10 minutes early. I was greeted by a friendly stylist. I was offered coffee, tea, water. The ambiance of the salon was beautiful. very relaxing.
As soon as the stylist who would be doing my hair walked in, she sat me right in her chair. Char is awesome. We talked for about a good 15 – 20 minutes about what look I was going for. I will explain why I love her later. Having being our first time meeting, she took time to truly get to know the look I was going for. I am very knowledgeable about the type of hair I have and what my hair will and will not do. So she was very happy about that. Most times people come in wanting Rihanna hair, and they have much more coarse/​kinky hair. No ma’am not me.
Once we settled on a style, cut, etc. This literally took her about an hour from start to finish. I have never in the history of salons been in and out in a hour.
Let me tell you about why I love Char. While finishing up, I mentioned to her that on my next appointment in June, so immediately said «wha’chu coming to see me for in June». I said to do my hair. She stated «my goal is to teach you how to care for your own hair and you only need to come and see me once every 3 – 4 months. Unless you want it cut lower, or to change the color, I don’t expect to see you» I said to myself «Look at God’ She wasn’t interest in taking my 450 every 2 weeks but more concerned with me learning how to care for my own hair. THAT is a beautician.
I paid, the exact price quoted. Which I think is on par for a wash, cut, and style. And left that salon feeling like a brand new woman. I came to work today, and EVERYONE loves it. But more importantly I love it. Its so versatile.
I will always go see Char for as long as these tresses stay on my head. Kudos to you Char, job well done.

This is by far the best salon I’ve EVER been to! It’s clean, everyone is so friendly and SUPER FLY! I got my first cut done after transitioning back to being natural. Dailey did an AMAZING job, ensuring that I still had some length when it was all said and done. That was 4 months ago. I went back this past Saturday to get a trim and color. I’ve always been picky about my hair but I totally trust the ladies of this salon so I let Dailey do her thing. And hunnnniieeeee let me tell you! She is EVERYTHING! My hair came out soooo good! Love love love this salon! And shout out to the very fierce Chardonae who did my wash and blow out!
Pricing, I believe, is totally reasonable. I’ve heard some people say they felt it was a little pricey but it’s YOUR HAIR! You have to pay to look good and keep it healthy. I’ve spent between $ 100 – 200 during my visits and that’s including tip.
All in all, this is a great salon with a really fun group of ladies working there. I’d recommend this place any day!

So the only reason I did not give H2 5 stars the first time around is because I felt like I needed to go a few more times because consistency in quality is important to me. They have not disappointed.
Dailey (the owner) is my go-​to stylist for anything I do to my hair now. The staff is always welcoming and inviting and I always leave feeling like a bag of money. It is such a great location and perfect alternative for trying to find a salon in the city. My hair is growing and feels great… my search to find a salon that’s right for me is finally over.

I have been back there 2 more times since June. Hopefully that says something.
Once again Dailey is great. I’ve gotten highlights and look amazing. (That sounds weird right? To say that about ones self? But I kinda do) I’m VERY happy here and anticipate that I will come back again and again. Any guilt that I might feel from not going to Devachan (where I also had a wonderful experiences) is alleviated by the fact that they use Devachan products! Catholic guilt taken care of.
They’ve changed the signage! It’s still discreet but bigger or more evident somehow. They are still a cash mostly, operation – meaning they will take your credit card but charge you a surcharge. That’s still weird to me, but my hair looks great. So I just get cash before I come.
Highly recommend this place.
