George Philip Smith, MD

I remember when this doctor put an ATM next to the front door of his office. Immediately, people started taking pictures of it and posting it all over social media. It was almost like the doctor was advertising that money is all he thinks about. Eventually, after the doctor caught on to how many people were talking & laughing about his ATM, he took it down. But you can still find pictures of it online:

One star is a lot for him. He has zero bedside manner. He just think about money and how he can get more money from you. He ask you to come for follow up appointment with no medical indication and he charges you.

There are not enough stars to describe the miraculous work that was performed by Dr. Smith. After numerous visits, misdiagnosis and inadequate care from at least three other doctors Dr. George Smith removed a cyst from my face. The work was nothing less than perfect. I have recommended and will continue to highly recommend Dr. Smith to the many people that ask «What happened to that bump on your face? Its gone! Dr. Smith is truly an expert surgeon.

I cannot imagine how anybody could feel comfortable around Dr. Smith.
I went to him once. We spoke about the minor surgery he’d potentially be doing on me (removing a small finger cyst). I wanted to ask if for his surgery I could take an anti-​anxiety medication that I used to take when seeing a dentist. So I pulled a labeled pill bottle out my pocket, and began to ask him «Now this is a medication which I used to take when seeing a dentist…»
But before I could even begin my question, Smith interrupted me mid-​sentence, firing the EXACT words «Well now that I know you’re on that I’m gonna knock you out!» in a harsh tone… Seriously??? Can you believe his lack of professionalism? It felt like a threat!
I tried to explain «No, I’m not on the medication regularly, I only took…»
But Smith just interrupted me once again, this time saying «No! I know. But Joe, if you have a problem with being nervous, you gotta be knocked out for this!» and then just stared me straight in the eye like he was annoyed.
I walked out his office and found a different doctor (who, by the way, went on to do the exact same procedure with me completely awake the entire time, and afterwards said I caused him no problems. And I’d told him beforehand of my anti-​anxiety medication in my past, but he still did not think general anesthesia was necessary for this procedure).
I have no idea how skilled a surgeon Dr. Smith is or is not. But his horrifying phraseology will keep me far away from him for life.

I was looking for a good cosmetic surgeon when my son got a cut in his face in school, my Freind with knowledge in the medical field recommended me to this doctor,
I was amazed from the minute I stepped in to that office the friendly staff and nurses and most of all the professional and quick job of the doctor who greeted and calmed my child right in the beginning «don’t worry u gna be ok I’ll make u a quick and nice job»
What should I tell you before I was finished with the paper work my son was coming out with a huge smile on his face «it’s done «
An awesome highly recommended doctor!
And btw I’ll always be grateful to my freind for Introducing me to such a great doctor.

I’ve been wanting to write this review for 5 years.
I took myself to the Park Slope ER because I tripped and busted my lip on the sidewalk. George Phillip Smith was called in as an «expert plastic surgeon». He was being called in from elsewhere, so I waited for him for 5+ hours… which is fine, I understand.
But when he finally got to the hospital, he seemed angry that he had been called in. He came into my little room without a word, and started poking at my lip. I asked if it was going to need stitches and he said «I don’t know». This was the only thing he said to me during the entire visit. He began stitching with no warning and no anesthesia. It was an incredibly painful experience.
He told the nurse to tell me that the stitches would dissolve in a couple of weeks and that I didn’t need pain medication. Maybe that’s their procedure: to tell the nurse instead of the patient, I don’t know.
Jump to a couple of weeks later: my stitches hadn’t dissolved. I was in incredible pain everyday and could barely move my mouth. The next doctor that I went to (my family doctor) told me that the stitches weren’t put in correctly and were inhibiting my lip from healing. Also the stitches were not the dissolvable kind. When he took them out, I had instant relief and my lip healed quickly.
Maybe his demeanor has changed over the past few years, but I wouldn’t give him any benefit of a doubt, and will never let George Phillip Smith anywhere near my skin again.

I visited dr smith last week for my sons lip. He had about 20 stitches. Dr smith was very kind and treated my son very nicely. He was fast and answered all of my questions ! Great doctor !!!
