Generoso’s Bakery has the perfect name. They’re very generous when they make your hero sandwich. Well over an inch of roast beef in my hero! The people there are very friendly and want to make your food just how you like it. Also, excellent cannolis. Make sure you’re hungry when you go! BTW, they do deliver local, $ 10.00 minimum. UPDATEREVIEW. On a recent order I had delivered, one of the hero sandwiches had two small pebbles inside of them nearly breaking a tooth. Generoso Bakery has lost my business.

This is my first time visiting here in years. I have to say still a great bakery. Went this morning and besides the bake goods it’s self another plus is the cashier. She’s fast n knows what she’s doing and very polite. I asked different questions about certain pastries n cookies she was able to say what was in each and every one. A good cashier is hard to find especially in bakeries. I haven’t tried there food but I love there baked goods, I will definitely be going back more often.

They have really good cannolis for $ 3 that are pretty big and made fresh right there. The other desserts look great and tasty as well.

Best time on NY vacation. The desserts were excellent, the people were friendly and everyone in the bakery welcomed us like we were family. If you are ever in NY, find this place and have a wonderful, Italian dessert.

Really loved the butter cookies dipped in chocolate. Have tried other places in the neighborhood but they fall short. This place is offers fine Italian treats, but the selection is not very large. Probably the only Italian bakery in Sunset cause most other places around are Mexican and the flavor is really oily or extremely dry in these places. I dont have any problems with Mexican desserts really. But once you taste Italian pastries they are so much richer and buttery… hmmmmm butter(In my best Homer Simpson voice) :p

My 3 stars are for their ham, egg, and cheese croissant. They were not cheap with the eggs they put inside. What made me so sad was their coffee. I had their iced coffee and Generoso‘s iced coffee is currently at the bottom on my list. Very weak, watery, and no coffee taste whatsoever. I literally tasted the water mixed with milk. And I had very little amount of coffee. It was really sad because I really liked the pastries there, but meh skip on iced coffee and head to the mug café on 4th ave. They have the best coffee in the neighborhood.

I say«a-ok» because it’s my first at this bakery. It’s an old school Italian bakery and affordable prices. I bought 2 items, total cost of $ 5. I bought an Apple Strudel and Almond Horseshoe-shaped cookie. the Apple Strudel isn’t too sweet. The pastry is flaky. The filling has chunks of apples. It’s decent compared to other apple strudels from various sources. The Almond Horseshoe-shaped cookie is ALL almond paste. However, it seems they blended the paste with a little simple syrup. It’s a huge cookie made of almond paste, so you might want to ration it out. The exterior is studded with sliced almonds. The texture reminds me of coconut macaroons. There are seats and tables so you can sit there and indulge. Also, it has machine to make cappuccinos.

Great place to grab a coffee or espresso. It has a very impressive selection of cookies and pastries, too. But a hidden gem for sandwich aficionados: the hot pastrami is plentifully made with really great meat and prepared with a sense of care. Easily the best sammie in the neighborhood for my money.

Bagels and breads and cookies and cream puffs that might be the most amazing thing ever– I love this bakery! There’s not a lot of real bagel options in the area. They only make a few kinds of bagels, and they do run out, which is testament to their deliciousness.

From the outside it has some dated cake displays is dimly lit and reminds you of another decade but its nostalgic and my go to spot for cheap Italian cakes for all my families birthdays. They have tons of cookies and single serving cakes and desserts. I love how sweet they are and the service is unbeatable. Awesome bakery in Brooklyn. I come in every time I visit the borough.

I walked past this bakery several times, but never would have thought to come inside. One holiday, either Thanksgiving or Christmas, my sister had bought a cookie gift set for a friend and she also bought one for the house. I usually don’t like the italian butter cookies(2 cookies sandwiched with jam in between and chocolate dipped ends with sprinkles) because they’re dry and just blegh. But these cookies were delicious. One day I will have the courage to try their cakes. I’m afraid the cakes will be blegh, but I guess I wont know unless I try… hey, my birthday is coming up soon, so why not!!!

So, Ive lived in the neighborhood for my entire life and this is THE bakery you go to in the morning for your bread bagels etc. around here BUT, I had to give them 3 stars due to the fact I’ve been dealing with the same stupid situation in this place FOR-EV-ERRRR…Here’s how it goes down EVERY time. ME:“HI, good morning. Can I get 2SEEDED Italians breads“ Store clerk:(looking back at bread on shelves):“AWWW sry we only have Italian bread wit NO seeds left“ Mind you its like 9:00am AND the ppl in coming from church who MOB the place havent even gotten out of service yet to buy EVEN more seeded bread that wont be there so, thats more lost money. My point is with the way mofos LOVE Italian seeded bread around here, AND with the TON of non-seeded bread on the shelf, why wouldnt THEY make MORE friggin SEEDEDBREADANDLESSNONSEEDED!!! ARRRGHHHH!!!

So… I haven’t actually received my order from this bakery yet, but dealing with them on the phone was an absolute pleasure! They were friendly and polite and just plain old amazing! I work in the area and want to treat my students to something other than Dunkin’ Donuts and I’m fairly certain they don’t dabble in the wonder that is cornetti quite often enough. I have class early in the morning and they’re going to prepare them before my class begins! FRESHCORNETTI! BRINGITON!

One of the only Italian bakeries left in Sunset Park. When you walk in, you are greeted by a lovely old Italian grandma who says, «GOODMORNING.» When I ask her what’s good, she says, «EVERYTHING.» Like the service, the pastries are sweet, but not overly sweet. Since discovering this bakery in the midst of Mexican restaurants of Sunset Park, I can tell it is very special. It delivers all you could want from a bakery like Veniero’s, but it doesn’t have the hype surrounded it. This keeps the prices low and our bellies full. After selecting a series of cakes, I must say I cannot choose a favorite. The strawberry shortcake was very rich, almost like a wedding cake. The strawberry jelly enhanced the flavor of the butter cream just a bit. The tiramisu was perfumed with liquor and had traces of salt and other spices. The chocolate mousse was light and airy and full of flavor. The cookies are fresh and delicious. This Italian family definitely knows what they are doing and have been doing it for years.

One of the biggest selections of Italian cookies ive ever seen in my life. Cannoli’s too! love them! I love family run bakeries bc it gives me hope for my own bakery that i will one day open. For $ 2 and change i got a big éclair and a vanilla frosted apple turnover. Can’t beat that. Eff overpriced chain bakeries!
