History
Established in 1907.
Gargiulo’s has been open for business in Brooklyn for over a century. We were established by the Gargiulo family, a father and son duo that came from Italy and bought the restaurant. In 1965, the Russo family embraced Coney Island as their new home, and took over the restaurant. They kept the name and implemented their own Neapolitan hospitality and cuisine, turning it into the landmark it is today. Our goal has always been to bring the flavors and traditions of Italy to Brooklyn, and we have gone out of our way to do that over the years. Whether you’ve been dining with our family for decades or you’re stopping by for the first time, we look forward to serving you!
Meet the Business Owner
Nino R.
Business Owner
The Russo brothers (Michael, Victor and Nino) own and operate Gargiulo’s, making it a true family business. The brothers can almost always be found at the restaurant, helping out and talking to guests. Nino has worked at the restaurant since he was young, and has never worked anywhere else in his life. The brothers are proud of the great reputation they’ve earned over the years, and take every opportunity to get involved in the community. From serving on the board of the Human Services Foundation to being involved in the Alliance of Coney Island, Nino and the Russo brothers are committed to making Brooklyn great.
