Knapp Pizza II

I order the apple almond arugula salad with raspberry dressing to my job on the regular. I am obsessed. The salad tastes amazing and the shrimp are grilled to perfection. The combination of the apples and almonds makes it a refreshing but filing salad. I have ordered it without shrimp and with and both leave me satisfied. I have also tried their pizza and pigs in the blanket and all is delicious. Delivery is super quick and they always get my order correct. Not to mention I love that they give utensils, plates and napkins.

I’ve been eating at Knapp’s Pizza every Thursday night for nearly 2 years. I’ve got two reasons why. I’m a league bowler at the nearby Shell Lanes, the best bowling place in Brooklyn, and my weekly Thursday mixed-​triples league ends around 9pm. Many of us come over to Knapp’s to chow down afterwards. The other reason is because their pizza ROCKS!
My personal favorite are their Grandma’s rectangular slices. The sauce is terrific and the crust cooked just how I like it. The buffalo chicken pizza is damn good too, as is everything else I’ve ever tried there. Definitely try their zeppolis for dessert. They’re absolutely delicious.
The folks that run the joint, the Sciortino family, have been in the restaurant business since the 80s. Knapp’s was opened in ’93 by Francesco, the youngest of six brothers. Born in the US, Francesco spent most of his youth in Sicily where he honed his cooking skills, grew his love for the culinary arts, and began to see food as a means for bringing families together.
The place definitely has a family-​vibe to it. Friendly service with great food at a reasonable price, they’re definitely the best pizza place around the neighborhood. They even have free Wi-​Fi and a clean bathroom! They have another pizza place over in Sheepshead Bay on Knapp Street that I haven’t visited yet, but I will soon…

My office orders pizza from here every week and it is always a solid meal! We get the meatball & onion (yum) and spinach & artichoke w/​Alfredo sauce pizza (double yum).
Figured it might be good to come in to the actual restaurant one day!
It looks like a typical pizza place (not that there’s anything wrong with that) — a good amount of seating, and the décor isn’t anything too fancy. They’ve got a TV on one of the walls and a long display of all their pizzas. What’s great is that they have two large pizza ovens so they can crank out pizzas quickly.
My boyfriend and I ordered a vodka slice, bacon Alfredo slice, and spinach bites. The vodka slice is good, but I wish that the vodka sauce was… stronger. There’s another Knapp St. by my house and I loooove their penne alla vodka (but they don’t do vodka slices). This slice was okay. As for the bacon Alfredo slice, I appreciate that the saltiness wasn’t too overwhelming. Their spinach bites (which are like the spinach rolls, just cut up into pieces) are a nice concept. They definitely did not skimp on the spinach for this. The slices were large and they have a great selection of pizzas and other things, so yeah I’d come back.

I’ve never come to eat here but I had food delivered to my store from here. I’ve tried the buffalo chicken panini and it wasn’t too spicy but just right. I’ve also tried the prosciutto and mozzarella panini and it wasn’t the greatest because they put so much lettuce and tomato on it. There is a like one slice of prosciutto on it and they really could add a little more.
The pizza is pretty good. It’s just like a regular normal slice. I heard there chicken Alice is really good but I never tried it.

I use to love this place when I was a kid, it’s been there for some time now and I have so many memories going there after school either alone, with my friends, or siblings. I must’ve been like 11 or 12 when I would go almost every week at least once, I’m 20 now so it’s been there for some time.
Which leads me to say that this place has had and still has its ups and downs.
My favorite dish was always shrimp parmigiana but they became really inconsistent maybe about a year ago or so. They use to get my dish perfect every time and it was delicious. Now sometimes I get it and it’s good and other times it’s way over cooked and has this burnt taste. Sometimes it even feels as if the shrimp was cooked a week ago and you just heated it up and served It to me – not cool at all.
The funny part is they are definitely aware of this cause only an idiot wouldn’t be. Which leads me to believe they consistently fuck up the food and knowing so– send it out anyway… That’s totally rude and exactly how you lose business
That is not the only dish too, they’ve had burnt tastes to their pastas as well.
The broccoli rabe is on point though no complaints there – I love the way they make it.
Pizza– sometimes it tastes burnt and other times it’s okay, but I’m not really a pizza person to begin with anyway.
Rice ball– also tasted burnt all the time – not my favorite thing to order and I haven’t for many years so maybe it’s changed but I didn’t like it so I never ordered it again.
Maybe they should check their ovens or some shit cause clearly everything’s tasting burnt so there must be a problem, either that or no one is paying attention when things are cooking.
Lastly, if they stayed how they started out, making sure everything is fresh and NOT BURNT than I would’ve given a much higher rating.
It saddens me to give them only two stars cause of all the history I have with this place.
Update: I just had shrimp and pasta from there – shrimp still tasted burnt and pasta was wayyyyyyyy over cooked it was practically mush

Wanted to try this nice looking place for a quick pizza since it’s always busy. The staff was friendly and that was another positive thing I have to say about Knapp. However, when I got my slice, the crust was tasteless and burnt. The only saving grace was the sauce and mozzarella. From the reviews here, this place is either hit or miss. It’s a miss with this Brooklyn girl.

Amazing place! Always on time delivery and very friendly on the phone. Gave me a slice on the Josie which was out of this world!

We been ordering pizza from u since the day you opened. We ordered a pizza tonight. And my daughters boy friend picked it up. It was not a fresh pie it was dry and hard as a rock. It looked like you cooked it already and put it back in the oven to warm it up again. We picked up at 9 pm. You gave us old pizza. And when I called you back up. The girl on the phone was not help full at all. You should learn to treat your everyday customers better. I think we will order somewhere else from now on. I no pizza I’m Italian that was a nasty pizza.

I don’t really like there pizza it’s not fresh and there garlic nots taste like there out for 2 days there really stale. Not only that but there rolls are t good there not made to order.

I can’t believe I wasted my money in this place. We ordered the lasagna and I have to say it is the worst I have ever eaten and I think it looked even worse if that is possible. It looked like slop just thrown together earlier in the day, I really doubt it was freshly made. I don’t understand all the good reviews on this place because I doubt the lasagna is the only bad dish here. This is the first and the last time we will be ordering from Knapp pizza.

I use to love this place and recommend it to my family when we get together for pizza. Besides for the pizza which is good, beware when ordering anything else very unorganized and when they make a mistake and you call back the girl on the phone is nasty.

We have been ordering from Knapp for as long as I remember and it has always been very consistent! The bacon Alfredo pie is to die for as well as their Paninis. We usually order for delivery which is always speedy and food is always fresh. But when we decide to dine in, the staff is very helpful. Thank you for always making us happy!!!

Delivery took way too long AND the food was bad. Not even because the food was cold. It was just bad.

Their Chicken Sorrento with Gluten Free Pasta is the worst thing I ever tasted. They don’t tell you that gluten free pasta is actually penne. If you search online for Chicken Sorrento you will find that it looks and is made nothing like what they make. Stick to their pizza as that’s the only thing they are good at. If you must order a dinner meal, stick to Marinara.

This place is still an amazing place. I come here when I’m both home or just back from the office!

Horrible. The delivery guy went to the wrong address and had the nerve to tell me that maybe I typed my address wrong. He said I am «far.» I’m not. I’m literally 8 minutes away according to Google maps. He gets to me and tells me I have to come outside to get my food cause he can’t park. It’s a medical building and we get all kinds of deliveries all day everyday. I’m sick and really need this soup so go outside anyway against my better judgement and get the food. He starts arguing with me. LIKE I DID SOMETHING WRONG. I take the food THAT I ALREADY PAID FOR and go inside. Minutes later, the same man who told me he couldn’t come inside to deliver my food walks into my job demanding that I sign the delivery receipt. I CAN’T. WORST DELIVERY EVER. That guy was a jerk and the food was not worth it. Stay away. When I called the restaurant they didn’t really seem to care. STAY AWAY.

Disgusted beyond belief. Never had a problem with this place and have been ordering for a few years because the selection is so extensive. Ordered dinner in tonight. Hubby got chicken parm. Unfortunately, it was raw inside. My toddlers were sharing with us and my stomach is in knots thinking about this.
Called them up to tell them. They refused to give credit which is fine, the guy said that people take advantage of it and end up getting a free meal. That’s great, however I still have raw chicken under a gallon of sauce? The guy said they would deliver it again in fifteen minutes (which if done so, delivery guy would have discovered said raw poultry awaiting him). An hour passes, another hour… call back…
This guy had the nerve to say «keep it for tomorrow, heat it up so it’s not raw anymore» what in the world, seriously. Can you say salmonella? Call to the health department? BBB?
Needless to say it wasn’t redelivered.
Fyi, salad gross, baked clams awful dry disgustingness. Vomit (if we don’t already have food poisoning.)

Ordered take out from here when I went to visit my cousin in Brooklyn! We ordered an eggplant pie and a plain cheese pie. I didn’t have a slice of the plain pizza, but I ate 3 slices of the eggplant pizza, because it was insanely good and I decided I was going to be a pig.
The eggplant pie had a perfect ratio of sauce, cheese, and eggplant. The eggplant was cooked perfectly, not overcooked or undercooked. There seemed to be minimal seasoning/​spices on the pie but with Italian I find the food can still be great without a lot of seasoning/​spices added to it. We had the thick crust which was also cooked perfectly and just wonderful. The eggplant pie here is a beautiful thing! I believe my cousin is going to get more visits in the future just so we can get take out from here and pig out!
