I brought my vehicle in under advise from
Chrysler wasn’t shifting into gear. Apparently an occurrence that’s that should warrant a re-​call but I digress. Firestone recommended everything to be changed, cable and shift system.670.00 later I drove out .
very next day. I couldn’t move car was stuck in gear again… fast forward. took it back in once it slipped into gear, and was told, NOW it’s electrical issue not shifter that they charged me 600+ for and I need to go to DEALER .I went to dealer. they did diagnostic and determined firestone is full of sh** ! and system wasn’t installed correctly. I took this info back to firestone and was CASUALLY informed. sorry I’ll still have to buy a new system for them to install. they refused to stand by their shotty work and either A. reimburse me for work not done correctly, or B. offer to put in a new system right this time .
the worst business ethics I’ve come across STAY AWAY FROM FIRESTONE

I have never had anything but good experiences here, there is a wait time and one has to be prepared for that. but the service has been good.

Avoid this place at all cost! !
I have not had one positive experience with this place. By far the worst establishment I’ve ever dealt with.
I drive a fleet vehicle and this is one of the authorized service centers. I brought my cat in for a flat tire repair and they have me new front brakes, new calipers and three new tires.
I brought it in for an oil change and waited around for 2 hours without my car moving so I just took my keys and left.
Now I bring it for inspection socket and they tell me it won’t pass inspection because it needs an oil change and rear brakes. I tell them to call the fleet company for authorization, I go run errands come back and wait around a little bit. Finally I go to check on my car 2 hours after I told them to get the authorization and they are just then calling to get the authorization three hours after I dropped the vehicle off.
Don’t ever come to this place if you don’t have to. Ever.

The Good:
I walked in at 7 a.m. for a set of Destination LE’s which were on sale (4 for the price of 3) but they didn’t have any in stock. So they offered to sell me a set of the more expensive Dueler Ecopia 422’s at the same price and 4 for 3 deal.
My other concern was that the wheels were out of alignment (thank you NY streets) and I had a one year warranty on the alignment from this shop. I didn’t have the receipt nor was my name in the computer since a body shop had brought the car to Firestone for me after it finished some front end repairs. Chris accepted my word and honored the warranty even though at that hour it wasn’t possible to get in touch with the body shop.
And the alignment job fixed the off center steering wheel so that’s great!
Also got a twenty dollar syn-​blend oil change!
It took five minutes to get in and out when I dropped it off at 7 a.m. (warning, a bit of a line, though they seemed to move through it quickly) and it was ready at 9:45 after 9:30 promise. Five stars! except …
The Bad:
Sadly, when I arrived to pick it up, there was a flat as the tire hit a nail when they pulled it out of the garage. They were out of stock in the tires I had just purchased, so I had to return later. They gave me a cheaper new tire with a different diameter (correct size, just 0.10″ diameter difference) on an AWD (a no-​no — fine for short distance city driving but my trip to AC was put on hold, probably a good thing) and parking the car. In hindsight, I should’ve told them to plug the hole and driven it until the new tire came in but I didn’t think of that until the new one was already on.
This happened Saturday morning, and it was Tuesday afternoon before they got a matching tire. I suspect it took until Tuesday due to the Columbus day holiday.
Fair enough, I’d still give them five stars. Above is all ‘stuff happens sometimes’, but:
The Ugly:
I picked up the car and checked the air pressure: 34 in the front, 30 in the rear passenger, and 36 in the new tire. Toyota recommends 29 psi for my car.
How does a tire installation shop named after a tire company not know to follow manufacturer’s recommendations for tire pressure, which is located in the driver door on a sticker?
It seemed to be loosing oil, and I noticed there was some fresh oil dripping off the new filter. It was loose enough that I was able to tighten it with just fingers more than a quarter turn.
Bottom line:
There were helpful when I came in and I got a great price for no reason other than they were out of stock on the tires I wanted. They got the tires on and had my car ready to go before 10 a.m. If it wasn’t for a stray nail on the sidewalk, they’d have earned five stars.
Also, free rotations are included for the life of the tires.
But as reality sinks in …
A for initial effort, B for execution, D for rectifying the flat tire. Seeing as I have to check their work and won’t feel confident driving my car until the oil and tires have been checked, by me, for several fill ups I think three stars is generous without misleading fellow Unilocal-​ers.

Ive been here several time. I’ve never had an issue with this repair center. I would drop off my car in the morning and give them a brief description of my issue I get on the train and head to work. I usually get a call a few hours later letting me know the diagnosis, the cost, then they ask you what you want to do. You give them the go ahead or not. They do the work then you get another call later in the day to say the car is ready. I’ve never had to wIt overnight or hours to be serviced. When I come back from work my car is always ready to go. There have been times that I’ve had to bring the car back if it seemed that something was off but again they fixed it right away. Of course it’s a chain so you can’t negotiate prices or get a deal. The price is just the price. But you’re also not getting ripped off by your local mechanic. Especially as a woman you can easily get taken advantage of.

My second visit to this Firestone to have a tire installed. The service I received was just as I remembered «quick and efficient» and even quicker this time around then my first time. The staff was helpful and courteous this time Bob began my process but I was fortunate enough to have Marlon assist me again by checking all my sensors and answering my questions. I’m glad I found a local business I can go to for great customer service and efficiency. The best part is the ease of having your tire delivered and installed at a minimum price by professionals. Thankfully I had my own positive experiences and can offer my own feed back.

took over 2 hours for an oil change, when we had an appointment and tried to charge us for things that weren’t even wrong in the first place, all crooks that work there. horrible, ride service.

Some things I would like to share about my recent visit to this Firestone for a NY state inspection:
1.) I was initially told my wait would be around 90 minutes which was a little long but fine as I had other errands to do. Don’t come here for a quick turnaround.
2.) They did call me with an update in around 90 minutes that my car would pass but the windshield wipers needed replacement. I could not get an answer as to what was wrong with them, but I’m sure they would sell me new wipers.
3.) My wipers were not bad as I replace them regularly. As such, I always keep a new set in the trunk. I replaced them at the shop as they would not, which put me back in the queue.
4.) While waiting I saw not one customer have a positive experience. One guy was there to have a tire replaced only to find out an hour later they had him come in without seeing if it was in stock.
5.) In general there seemed to be no organization at this place. A lot of running around the shop and to the front counter with little getting done.
6.) They did add some air to one tire as requested. For this I almost thought about bumping to 2 stars but I just can’t.

So this weekend i seen a good tires sale at Firestone for 4 all season performance tires. so we went, and it turn out to be a 3hr wait? then we go to see are car and they say to me that theirs a slight problem with are car??? they damage the side back of my car when backing off the car lift to a other car lift that damge my car??? and of course the store Manager is out of state, so have them give us some paper work saying they will pay all damages. so on Monday i take are car to are mechanic to get a damage repair and find out the cost the daamages is $ 9,000.00??? so we file claims and also with Firestone. we see how this will come out. so beware of this place.

Had my car towed here after I had a brand new yet defective alternator installed the previous day by a different firestone. Also had a battery replaced. The first bad vibe was that they never called me to tell me my car was fixed. Whatever, stuff happens.
Well when I get there, mind you no one else is in line, I wait like 20 minutes for someone to even address me at the counter. There wasn’t another customer in there. Whatever, it’s late in the day, they close in 30 minutes. Plus I just need to get my keys and go. I’ll live.
A nice fellow finally asked me if I had been helped and I told him I was there to pick up my car.
Perfect
He hands off the paper work to another associate and starts the check out process. «Ok you’re balance comes to blah blah blah»
«Wait, what balance?»
The guy checking me out told me I had a balance. What? Firestone installs a bad alternator, one that comes with a parts and labor warranty for a year and somehow I have a balance? This must be a mistake, it’s been one day.
The sales associates, as if repeating from a script, assures me that he understands what I’m saying but fortunately there’s nothing he can do about it. A conversation of akin to an Abbot and Costello routine soon develops.
«I’m sorry, I don’t think this is right, can I talk to the person in charge» — me
«There’s no one in charge»
«…There’s no one in charge?»
«No»
“You don’t have a manager?”
«He’s not here»
«Ok, Ill wait for him to get back» (Thinking it was the original person I spoke with)
«He’s not coming back»
«What’s his number, let’s call him»
«I don’t have his number»
«Really?»
“Really”
“You don’t have a employee listing of names and numbers?”
«No»
“Can you call the District Manager”
«No»
“I’m sure there’s someone in corporate you could get a hold of”
«No»
“Do you agree that these charges shouldn’t be on here, because I have already paid for the parts and labor and firestone gave me a bad alternator?”
«Yes»
“Then be aboveboard and remove the charges”
«I’m sorry, there’s nothing I can do»
At that point, the original nice employee comes up to see what is the problem. After about a half second of explaining to him the absurdity of the situation, he effortlessly hits about two key strokes about Voila! the charge is gone…
Perfect. A tip of the hat to these gentlemen and I’m on my way, all’s well that ends well.

I pull out of firestone, drive my car for about 5 minutes, and the car shuts down. No power. There can be no way the alternator is bad again, there can be no way I’m that unlucky. I pop the hood as only a novice does, at least to show all the cars that are honking their horns that I have issues and I’m trying to resolve them.
Outside of changing a tire here and there, replacing my break lights, replacing fuses, and changing my own oil once 12 years ago with my dad. I have absolutely no idea what under the hood of a car should look like. That being said
The positive terminal connection wire to my battery, a BRAND NEW BATTERY THAT FIRESTONE INSTALLED THE PREVIOUS DAY, looked like it was installed by a blind person, an incompetent person, or someone trying to cut corners and save time… possibly all three. The wire was completely exposed and in the terminal by a thread.
Now maybe this was the original firestone’s issue, maybe these guys in Brooklyn didn’t even look at the positive terminal when they were changing my alternator. I’m not sure. The state of the wire exposed was egregious though. I know sometimes we dont see things right in front of our faces. But for someone that doesn’t work on cars for a living to notice that, almost immediately, it speaks volumes of the great work the mechanics of the corporation pride themselves in.
Note: I do have an electronics background so this a «that doesn’t look right at all» moment
Thank god I had tools with me. After blocking traffic for 15 minutes to properly reconnect what should have been done by a trained professional and what I had already paid for, I was finally on my way.
Thanks firestone. I know you tried your best but sadly I think you did your best.

Second time around was cheated like family. Both times i met Christopher who was a total gentleman and dealt with paulus on the return. an hour wait time got the car in 30 minutes now i’m on my way to Atlanta.

I called last Saturday morning to see if I could get my oil changed. A person on the phone said yes. I had specifically gone to this Firestone because it was near a friend’s house, where I was going for brunch. I then dropped off my car, and let them know I’d be back in 2 hours– more than enough time for a 15 minute oil change. He said he’d call if they were done early. After two hours I returned, my car in suspiciously the same position as I’d left it. As suspected, no one had even touched it. When I inquired, I was told that the mechanic had «gotten backed up.» But… really? After two hours, when they knew I had to leave? And with no notice whatsoever. At least the guy at the counter was nice, but at the end of the day, it still leaves Firestone with 1 star.

I went in to get my flat fixed. The guy at the desk was obnoxious, rude and very unprofessional. Never gonna use this place again.

I came in to mount new tires on my wheels. The employee has COMPLETELY destroyed my rare BBS wheels. Every single wheel now has rashes all around the lip and the wheels also have gouges into the metal from them trying to get the tires off. I didn’t realize this until I got home.
DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR WHEELS.

Came here for a specialty oil change. Every other chain, quickie lube, etc was considerably more expensive for this level of service. This firestone was professional, friendly and there was no hard upsell. The service wasnt fast, but I didnt expect it to be with it so busy and me arriving mid-​day. Overall I was happy with my experience here and will come back for my next service.

I had an appointment today for 11AM for a state inspection. Michael was managing the desk. He was friendly and explained to me when I entered that some mechanics called out (holiday time) and that Firestone was short staffed. I was happy that he said this so I can mentally prepare for the wait. I got my car back at noon so I can’t complain since estimated wait was 1 – 2 hours. My experience was fine but I can see why others say what they did in their reviews.
There were many customers unhappy about the wait time and were asked to come back another day. No one wants to make the trip out there just to make a second trip later on in the week. Also, there was a mix up with the receipt of one customer at checkout.
If you decide to wait for your car, you can watch TV and drink coffee in the waiting area. There are outlets nearby so you can charge your devices and stay entertained.

Pros: They provide trustworthy, frank service. They’ll tell you what NEEDS to get done versus what you can wait a bit on. They always have great coupons for service available, too. Chris is awesome!
Cons: Always busy; the downside of an honest, affordable shop is that everyone comes here. Schedule an appointment or plan to leave your car for the day.

Showed up on time for the appointment I made to get an oil change and was told it would take at least 2 hours for them to get to my car. I mentioned my appointment and the guy at the desk said that it didn’t matter. I took my car to Solernos the next day and although they were busy, they got it done in less than 30 minutes.

This place is awful. They won’t put on tires unless you buy them from them, on the spot. They told me they’d do it over the phone and then said they wouldn’t when I got there. Also, they have a lot of guys standing around, but nobody helping customers.
As for the more benign things that are terrible: there are always employees just hanging out in the showroom, but nobody helping those in the big line. Their service is also painfully slow. Bad business all around…

3 months ago, I came in for 4 new tires and an alignment. The wait was 3 – 4 hours, but the people were friendly enough. If I had written a review at the time, I probably would have given 3 or even 4 stars. Unfortunately, my car was pulling to the left, so I brought it back in today. The warranty was for a year, so the adjustment was free, which they honored.
I had an appointment, but I still waited 3 hours. The guy at the desk seemed frazzled and confused. He was a strange guy, and was not very helpful. So I got another guy to help me, who seemed much more on top of things, and did ultimately apologize for the wait.
At the end, the mechanic explained that the car before me took longer than expected. I get that stuff happens, and sometimes you get a log jam, but if there were an efficient manager who could oversee an effective triage, I have to think that no one would ever have to wait 3 hours for what’s really like a 10 – 15 minute process. Once this warranty is up, I’ll go elsewhere for my next alignment.
