Express 11 Car Service

I had used them in the past and thought they were fine for the area but after several times using them where they made errors I will never use them again. They didn’t show up after calling them and confirming a ride more than once, and they took the long route to Newark airport and charged my sister from out of town $ 100 dollars for the airport ride after quoting $ 75.
Plus, their drivers tend to be ineligible to drive yellow taxis. For the last two drivers I had, one had heart problems and wasn’t allowed to drive yellow taxis, and the other only had one eye. I’d prefer not to deal with this car service when there are plenty around that run a better business.

Horrible. Quoted $ 55 to Newark Airport, charged $ 100, saying we needed to pay for drivers tolls to get back into the city??? Crazy. Came 20 minutes after they said they would be there, which made us cut it close for our flight. Will never trust them again.

Express 11 has been useful for my recent trips to the airport. Reliable and they have reasonable prices. The driver also helped me find the correct gate at the airport.

Amazing service! Picked me up right on time. I thought he’ll be late since I needed to leave by 4:15am. Jose was a great driver. I made it to the airport on time and he even had pleasant conversation with me. I recommend you booking at least 2 days in advance (especially for airport service). I really think that was the reason why this worked out so well for me.

My dog hurt her leg badly and couldn’t walk, and I needed to get her to the vet — which is only 5 short blocks away, but I can’t carry my 70-​lb dog that far. The vet told me Express 11 was pet friendly, so I called an hour ahead of time to arrange pickup. When no one shows up I call, and the dispatcher — after leaving me on hold for 5 minutes — says the driver is 5 minutes away. Fine. Five minutes later, nothing, and by now I’m in danger of missing my appointment. I call back again — the car is now 20 minutes late — and the dispatcher says the driver is at a specific location two blocks down the street but that there is «a lot of traffic.» But I can look down the street myself and see that there is not any traffic. Then he hung up on me, right in the middle of a sentence.
So I called Eastern, and they came within ten minutes. The call from Express 11 came long after I was at the vet — more than 40 minutes after the car was supposed to be there. The two-​blocks-​away thing could only have been a flat-​out lie.
Other people have given them positive reviews here so I’m sure they’re fine at least some of the time, but if you actually need to be somewhere at a particular time (or just don’t want to get hung up on), try someplace else. Eastern was prompt, friendly and happy to take dogs. And while I don’t think they take pets, I’ve never had anywhere near such a bad experience with Arecibo. Basically this place made an already stressful night much worse and there are many better options in Brooklyn.

They had a really good price, twice.
Both times they came a bit later than they said (admittedly the first time was on a holiday and I’m sure it was busy). I’d rather they be realistic about how long their drivers come.
But when they came, the drivers were pretty friendly and drove well.

They’re cheap. A trip to JFK is $ 35 dollars (tip not included) which is a far cry cheaper than a taxi. The only thing is, you have to call in advance. In my experience ⁸⁄₁₀ times they arrive on time (especially when it came to JFK) but every so often, they’ll be 15 to 30 minutes late. Once they took more than 40 minutes and I ended up trying to find a train home hence the 3 stars instead of 4. I still use them every once in a while if I know I need a car in advance.

Really reliable car service in Brooklyn. I’ve used all the rest including Pratt, Aricebo, and Eastern. Express 11 is the best. The guy in the phone is nice and takes actually cares. I use these guys all the time.

Liars basically. They don’t send a car when they say they will and if you call them back they use their caller id to keep you on hold. So I recommend them if all you want to do is speak with a dispatcher and then stand around the street waiting for a car that won’t show up.

Called for a car to pick up at 12:30 from my hotel. Got a quote of flat rate $ 45. Called them at 12:40 to find out where the car was… they said I told them 12;45 (I had a «witness» who says they heard me say 12:30 twice. Doesn’t matter really because the driver showed up at 12:55. I figured, with this kind of service I better confirm the price before I got in the car. The driver says it is $ 50, not $ 45. Now I am mad. Told him what I was told an he finally agreed. I would have taken it out of the tip if he hadn’t.

I used them often. Never later than 10 minutes to pick me up. Friendly dispatcher and drivers!

Decent. They were around 15 minutes late to pick me up from LaGuardia, and the car smelled like «new car tree air freshener» much too strongly, the driver must have had 8 of them hanging from his rearview mirror. In fact, my throat hurt after breathing in that «new car» stench.

I called for a cab and they told me 5 mins and never came. I kept calling them to see where my driver was but no one ever answered the phone. Never again

DANGEROUS
I didn’t have to be a passenger in this cab to know that whom ever drives car #19 is a LAZY driver who doesn’t care about other Motorists on the road. I was driving behind him on the BQE when sheets of ice came flying off the hood of his cab and slammed into my windshield. Waiting for owners response about the incident.

Drivers of express eleven. I apologize for having ditched you a couple of times. I feel bad. I do. But your dispatchers are incredibly frustrating. They tell me 5 minutes. And then five minutes. And then five minutes. And half an hour later nobody shows and I throw in the towel and call someone else. You should be annoyed because you lose business. You lose wages. I miss my plane.
Dispatchers please be honest! If you cannot arrive within a certain time and I will be grateful for the candor. I will call you again because I trust you.
Drivers get mad! You are the ones that pay for their mistakes.

I called a car at midnight or so home and had a good experience with the driver. She even stopped on the way home at an ATM for me so I could get cash to pay her. Because I had a good experience with them, the next day, I decided to call them again for the same trip home. The driver who showed up charged me twice as much as the driver the night before for ostensibly more cargo. He called dispatch and proceeded to make fun of me thinking I didn’t speak Spanish. When I tried to have him explain why the price was twice as much and asked him to stop calling me «baby», he was rude and stewed the entire ride home. When we got to my house, he threw my packages on the floor and said «Fuck» twice and called me a bastard. I called dispatch to tell them this happened and they said it was the last straw with this driver and that the owner/​manager would call me back. Needless to say, no one called me back. Extremely unprofessional, aggressive, and downright threatening and scary. As a single small female, I felt very unsafe alone in the car with the driver and the dispatch did little to stop his mocking both on the phone and to apologise or comp it later. Please be careful using this service and mind your safety first. If didn’t have a lot of bags, I would have unloaded the car and not taken the risk. Please don’t take the risk with your safety.

I’ve used this car service for years, I thought they knew me. My finace and I order from them a lot. Today… I was totally blindsided though. I ordered a cab which came out to 12 bucks and was in such a rush to leave the cab that I mistakenly gave the cab driver one 10, a single and hundred dollar bill instead of 1 dollar.
Needless to say I never got that cash back which is my fault for making the mistake but the way they handled it was infuriating. On top of that, there have been numerous times in which I’ve called for a pickup and the guy comes really really late or not at all. Not great service guys.

This is located on 5^th Ave and 11^th Street despite its locale on Unilocal.
Tried relying on them twice in the past few months. Today called 2 hours before our airport arrival — they confirmed no problem. Got to passenger pick up and waited… and waited and called which they said the driver was entering the airport to wait a few minutes. THIRTY MINUTES goes by and their phone goes to the music and recording so we just got a yellow taxi. Finally got a call half way through our ride home that the driver was there which was over an hour late. Bottom line, stick to Arecibo or Eastern.

I ordered two cars today and was told it would take 10 minutes. Instead we ended up flagging down a car from another service and calling Arecibo. By the time Arecibo arrived we had been waiting for a full HOUR and no Express cars ever arrived.
Further we tried calling Express during that hour and were on hold for about 8 minutes each time.
I won’t try Express again.

My boyfriend was running late for work this morning, and asked me to call him a car because the bus would have taken too long. The car service we usually call didn’t have anyone available, so I called Express 11.
I asked for a pickup in 20 minutes, and the guy said it would be no problem. At the appointed time, when we were waiting outside and no one had come yet, I called them back and he assured me the driver was on his way, and «Just give me two minutes.» Five minutes later when I called back, it was the same story. 10 minutes after that I sat on hold for 5 minutes while my boyfriend hailed another livery cab. I kept waiting on the phone so I could cancel the car (just because they totally lack common courtesy doesn’t mean I should), but they hung up on me.
No-​show after 20 minutes, and hanging up on me. My boyfriend ended up getting to work at the same time as he would have if he’d taken the bus. Maybe they were just having an off day, but I’m never calling them again.

Express 11 it’s a great car service they cover the 5 boroughs, they always come on time.

NEVER USE THIS CAR SERVICE.
My husband and I called this car service after leaving the animal hospital in Cobble Hill tonight. After the waiting 15 minutes the driver finally arrived. The driver (car 42) «jokingly» complained about our using a credit card to pay for our service because he had to pay his lease tomorrow morning and was short on money (while driving recklessly and with a huge wad of cash in his hand). He then ran a red light (where we saw him being caught via photo). Obviously the entire experience was sketchy — start to finish.
Then the MAIN problem happened. My husband got out of the car with our small dog, shut our door and immediately realized that he had left his iPhone in the car. He called the dispatcher within 2 minutes and the dispatcher said the driver didn’t see a phone. We called the iPhone and it went to voicemail. We called it again 2 minutes later and it had been TURNED OFF. The dispatcher confirmed that there hadn’t been another pick up in this car and said he couldn’t do anything about it. When we said we would get the police involved his words were «go for it dude».

Calling ahead to a cab service is always a tricky thing. First they always tell you 5 minutes because that is their intention. Sometimes it doesn’t work that way because the cabbie is free but the traffic is not.
Still I use this service purely because of its location. I don’t know about other car services but I know that their base is a block from my house so they don’t have an excuse.
Really that’s how you should plan your next car pick up because its easier to hunt them down and ask them why can’t they find your house around the corner?
I’ve had no issues with these guys. They always get me to work in inclement weather. Sometimes I’ve waited and they apologize. Other times, I use a different cab service they just don’t come through.
Once I got dropped off at my location and there was a stranded chick waiting for another cab service to go to the airport and my guy provided that for her. Nicely done guys.
