We decide to paint our front door and needed the locks to be removed and then to be installed again when painting is finish.
Joe arrived on time, and removed the bottom and top locks from door.
2 days later he came back to install the locks on our painted door :)
if i need a locksmith i will call this guys again.

i want to say big thanks to Joe, he came over last night to help me open my door. for some reason the key got stuck in the lock and i couldn’t get in to my apt. Joe came over quickly and open the door for me, he showed me also my lock is broken and he had a new lock for replacement. great service!

I leave my keys at home all the time, usually my landlord would come and rescue me, but this time I had no choice but to call a locksmith service. The experience was pleasant, fast and easy. No replacement of a new lock, just popped it open and thats it!

They will fool you with the price. I locked myself out 1am in the morning and this place was the only option I had at that moment. Over the phone the representative said it would be $ 25 service fee+@. After 30 minuets later, the staff came over and quote me $ 280 saying he has to replace the whole lock. I tried to cancel it since it’s over my budget. I told him I will pay the $ 25 for coming over and would like to cancel it. The guy then suddenly bargain his price saying ‘actually I don’t really need to replace the whole lock. I can use different trick.’ And then quote me $ 150. And THEN after few minutes of conversation and he suddenly changed his price to $ 195 saying ‘hey I don’t even charge you for $ 25′. Out of desperation I ended up payong $ 195. Im now reading reviews here and now I can tell I’ve been fooling around.
Find another place please. They are not honest about their price and will take advantage of your desperation. Very disappointed.

somehow i broke my key inside the door’s lock.
i called this guy and he came pretty quickly. i must say, this guy was really nice and extremely professional. he knew what to do the second he arrived. he gave me a fair price, with no hidden charges or fee afterward. I definitely recommend this company. Great service, professional and kind.

I needed an emergency locksmith to come and open my door after my lock got jammed.
i had the key but for some reason it didnt work.
Adam showed up pretty quickly (25 minutes) and tried to grease the lock in order to open it. but it appears that the lock needed to be drilled and replaced.
they did a clean job and with convenient rates compare to other locksmiths i called before.
bottom line: great service!

I have never written a negative review before, but my experience with this company was very disappointing. Coming home late from work on a Monday, at 11pm, my key got stuck in the front door of my apartment and wouldn’t budge. I couldn’t reach my landlord, so I called this establishment after the companies with better reviews were closed.
After calling, I waited an hour for the locksmith to arrive (although I only live 2 blocks away from their listed address), and when he did, he said he would have to replace the lock for $ 150 and also wanted $ 49 for the service fee. On the phone, they had only quoted a $ 25 service fee for the visit. To me, the lock seemed jammed and didn’t seem to need replacement, especially for such a cost, so I opted to sleep at friend’s and my landlord unjammed the lock the following day with a few tools. The locksmith did arrive with a full tool set but did not know how to use them. In fact, he was rude and condescending when I expressed doubt that the lock needed to be replaced. I would not recommend this company and I would not use them again — it was a waste of my time and my money.

This past Sunday afternoon, I found myself locked out of my apartment after dropping off my laundry down the block. Usually in this scenario, I would’ve waited it out at a friend’s place for a roommate to get home, but unfortunately I left the stove on so time was an issue.
Like the previous customers, my suspicians should have been aroused when the technician arrived in an unmarked car, without a uniform. He proceeded to immediately suggest that we drill the cylinder. It was only until I asked about other means of getting a door open did he pull out the inflatable device.
Unfortunately, that didn’t do the trick. In my desperation I agreed to his fees, which came out to a ridiculous $ 220 dollars to drill the door and $ 140 dollars for a new cylinder (which looked like your typical home depot cylinder). The combined total with tax was $ 405 dollars for something that took 10 minutes.
Ulysses, the technician, after I complained about how expensive it was said, verbatim, «If it was up to me I would charge only $ 20 for the cylinder, but the company makes me do this.»
After he left, I began to do some research, (e.g. asking my landlord), and the average price for the services I paid for is not nearly the amount that I was charged. I called them a few days later to clarify the issue and found out I was being charged for a warranty on the new cylinder I wasn’t even told about before the installation and the $ 220 dollars was for the transportation cost.
This is absurb because I live about a 9 minute walk from their listed address, which funny enough when I tried to visit their listed address on Unilocal,it turned out to be a residential building. After several conversations on the phone the guy at Emergency Locksmith refused to give me his names.
This place is basically scamming the neighborhood. They run a sketchy business and I truly doubt the authenticity of these 5 star reviews. DO NOT TRUST THESE GUYS.

New to the area, new to my apartment and I stepped out for a second forgetting that my new apartment had a slam lock door and was instantly locked out with just my phone and called these guys since I couldn’t get in touch with roommates or landlord.
For an overwhelmed 22 year old who was locked out without her shoes they came pretty quickly (25 minutes or so but it was during a busy time) and was able to remedy the situation quickly and very affordable compared to some of my friends’ horror stories.
I had this number because my roommates had previously lost their keys to the same apartment and called this company to get a lock replaced and said I should keep their number on my phone. If you’re in a bind, call these guys.

With everything else going on this holiday weekend, I managed to lock myself out of my place. Scary doesn’t even begin to describe the situation. Called around to different locksmiths in the area and got a bunch of crap about being «too busy» or «it would be at least 2 hours before anyone could help because of the holiday.» I was in the middle of traveling so that wasn’t going to work. Ended up calling Emergency Locksmith and the guy was there in like 20 mins.
The guy was super friendly and got me back into my place without a hitch. Totally professional and understanding. For this level of service, I expected all kinds of added fees and such. Was nothing like that. The price was more than reasonable. Though I ended up finding my keys and I doubt I’ll ever slip up again, if I ever need help with a lock-​out situation, I won’t hesitate to call Emergency Locksmith & Door Service. They seem to know that stuff like this can happen to anyone at anytime!

Had some trouble with my bolt lock today. Wanted to stay local instead of calling a larger service. They were in the neighborhood, so I gave them a call. Michel showed up in only 20 minutes! I live in a pre-​war building, so these things happen all the time. Turns out they have experience with this kind of stuff. A couple tools, 10 minutes and a good bit of elbow grease later, I was back inside my apartment. Very reasonable fee, and service with a smile. Would’ve had him stay for a drink if he didn’t have another job down the street he was hurrying off to!

$ 600, four appointments, and two separate drilling and wholesale lock and mechanism changes later, I now have a functional lock. Twice, the «fix» lasted for approximately one day. Being locked out of my apartment (despite having keys in hand at all times) on three separate occasions in the span of five days in the sweltering heat is an experience I wouldn’t want any unsuspecting customers, stranded at night in a desperate situation, lured in by the siren sign of this business’s misleading four star overall ranking, to have to endure.

I left my keys and passport inside my apartment when I was heading to the airport. My flight was leaving in a few hours and I started to panic. My landlord was away and after calling several other companies these guys proved to be the most reliable. I was impressed with how quick they were able to open my door. Luckily the whole process took about an hour and I was able to make my flight. Definitely keeping them in my contacts.

A friend referred me to Emergency Locksmith & Door Service. I’ve had many bad experiences with locksmith companies in the past, but I decided to give this one a shot, and I’m grateful I did. I needed a dead lock installation ASAP, and it was done within 30 minutes after arrival. Adam was very respectful, and efficient with the job, I recommend this place to anyone in the area.

Needed my lock to be changed on a christmas eve day, when i couldnt find no one to come over and help.
right before going to my parents house for the holiday i find out my keys were stolen, probably in a starbucks near by.
My super was able to let me in, but i couldnt just leave my apt unlocked or having the risks some1 have my keys.
Adam was helpfull and agreed to show up within 30 minutes.

Ever forgetful I walked out without my keys. Unilocaled a locksmith at 1230 am and took the first I saw. $ 350 to drill a hole in lock… it took no more than a full 60 seconds. After calling owner to discuss exorbitant fee, who then texted back and forth with locksmith in front of me, I paid the fee. The owner then called and said it must have been another locksmith from another company (I called no other company) because they never charge such a rate and their guy had been in a car accident…
I love it when tall dark men magically show up at my doorstep with a metal drill bit knowing precisely what I need. I wish the gods were always so fortuitous.
The fee in and of itself is asinine. The attempts to play me as dumb and manipulate my understanding is unethical.
If you find yourself in a similar situation, I’m not sure who to call, but don’t call these guys.

My sister just moved in to park slope, and for my experience in NYC, I told her she must add a new top lock dead bolt to her apt door.
A good friend in Brooklyn gave me some warm recommendations about Emergency locksmith & door service.
My sister choose to upgrade for a high security lock since James offered a good price for it.
The new lock works perfect and I’m happy to know this guys are in the area for any case.
