Eichler’s Books Religious Articles & Gifts

I found this site after being so very disappointed in stores in Baltimore and Pittsburgh. At first I was cautious and purchased something small that I didn’t need right away. So them I tried larger and more important. Then I tried, big and l need it delivered just when they said it would be. I am doing my taxes now, I made thirty two purchases last year. These guys are the Jewish Amazon, maybe better.
Here it is simply:
They send what they advertise, in the condition that they advertise, in the packaging that fits what they advertise and it arrives just like the shipping that I select. Never fails. I have no idea what their customer service is like – the best customer service is the kind you never need.
In my world good judgement and Jewish ethics matter. There are no crazy red strings for sale, just good books, good religious items, good clothing, good gifts and good business.

Very disappointed in their continuously misleading information about my order of July 2015 promised for Rosh Hashana many times. Never received.

They have a lot of stuff but no one there to help u find what you need. They get the 3 stars only because they have anything and everything. Both price and service sucks.

If it has anything at all to with Judaism you will find it here. I was amazed. I needed some information and the salesman was extremely helpful.

I find myself coming here on lonely evenings in search of some inspiration. It’s the crème-​de-​la-​crème of Judaica stores, plain and simple. It’s probably the most well-​known for a reason; the salesmen are helpful and always tolerate my endless ogling of the books, and once, I called at 4 pm on a summer Friday afternoon in need of some emergency NCSY bentchers for a kiruv group I was hosting that shabbos, and they came to the rescue! The manager waited for me to come quite a distance, and had the bentchers waiting for me in a bag, and quickly conducted the transaction, bending policies in order to accomodate our needs.
I agree with Heshy Fried that chairs would be a nice addition to the store; it would encourage more business and would really make this a truly unique place to peruse Jewish books. I am impressed always by the array of new books they carry, as well as the variety of audio shiurim they sell, such as the shiurim of Shas Illuminated and Rabbi Yissocher Frand’s aliba de hilchasa shiurim.
The Judaica is gorgeous; I purchased my netilat yadayim cups and bedside washing basins here, and I would definitely come here to purchase fine Judaica for my own home one day (kiddush cups, mayim acharonim sets, hallah knives and boards, salt holder, etc.)

If you’re Jewish, or interested in Judaism or Jewish culture, stop by at Eichler’s for books, religious texts, Jewish music and DVDs, lectures and audiobooks, and seasonal items.
And of course they have kippahs and prayer shawls!

I could spend hours in this store and I love how helpful the staff are. This place is packed packed packed with a great selection of Judaica! I recommend Eichler’s to the secular, newly religious, and long time frum alike. I’m sad to hear that other people experienced poor service and attribute it to biased against non-​religious Jews. That was not my experience at all. Eichler’s was the first Jewish bookstore that I ever went to (way before I was religious), and I went in with pants and a tanktop. I received great service.

I wish I could give this place 5 stars. They have everything any Jew could ever want, well, Jewish stuff that is. But for a secular Jew to come in and shop is not the most pleasant experience… as I found out.
So I wanted a Mezuzah to put on my door. I had no idea that the prayer that goes inside does not come with it. The guy explained this to me in a very condescending tone/​way. I’m sure he did not mean anything by it, but if I’m going to go and shop there I want to be treated with respect! WHEN IS THIS JEW ON JEW CONDESCENSION GONNA END?
I ended up buying a couple books on why bad things happen to good people (but this was unrelated to my negative experience here).

Eichler’s is not a place where a secular Jew can get any decent service. Getting attention in there without wearing a sheitel is pretty darn difficult. So, while they have a dazzling array of Judaica, shopping there for my first son’s bar mitzvah was an f*ing annoyance. I have never returned. Now I shop at Hecht’s.

Eichlers is like the Wal Mart of Judaica, they have almost everything besides for the illusive copy of Making of a Gadol, and they have impeccable service that doesn’t make you feel rushed.
They have an amazing selection and they don’t slam the change down on the counter like other places in the neighborhood. I just wish they would have some chairs so people could sit and read a bit and parking on Coney Island is always hectic.

WOW! I’ve never seen so much Judaica in my life. They had everything. I’ve never seen ½ this stuff. I’ve only read about it or seen it on tv.
The only awkward thing was that I didn’t bring my yamulke to wear. I felt out of place.
When I need to buy something, this is where I’m coming. Great for gift giving for bar-mitzvah’s, house warmings, etc.

I’m pretty sure Eichler’s is the Bloomindales of Judiasm. Well, let’s be honest. As a Jew, I can tell you Bloomingdales is the Bloomingdales of Judiasm. But Bloomingdales can only get you so far. When you know you’ve put way too much on your credit card and need to pray so that you parent, husband or creditor doesn’t come after you, well that’s where Eichler’s comes in.
How so? Well, if you’re going to pray, you’ll probably want a book or something to pray out of. Eichler’s has that. Whether it’s a prayer book or the bible, Eichler’s has that. And if you’re feeling like a super holy Jew and want to start celebrating some holidays, Eichler’s has that too.
Need a prayer book for the high holidays? Check.
Need a lulav and etrog for Succah? Check.
Need an electric, candle or oil menora for Chanuka? Check.
Need a seder plate for Passover? Check.
In addition to holiday stuff, they have mezuzot, kosher cookbooks, yamulkes, chamsas, and even kosher kitchen supplies (I don’t get how a sink basin can be not kosher straight out of the store but whatever). So if you’re Jewish and feeling holier than thou, well, Eichler’s probably has it.
