For my first boy’s bar mitzvah I shopped at Eichlers (
) and was seriously put off by the staff’s lack of attention to secular Jews such as myself. So, for my second boy’s bar mitzvah I shopped at Hecht’s and had a very pleasant and personalized shopping experience. To the saleslady who encouraged me to get the light gray yarmulkes with the silver trim instead of the white/​silver, you were so right.
